A little life update

Some casual selfies with my styles from last weekend. Not a fancy picture, but some words: I'm currently living away from home, as I've relocated for a few weeks to another city. Maybe you noticed all the selfies with Fuxi and the new flat in the background of my pictures? That's due to the fact that I'm currently living in an AirBnB that's located in the city Fuxi lives. In the city I used to live in as a student years ago, that still feels like home to me.

Why? Because I needed a break from my routine and same same at home - and because my boss surprisingly agreed to me working 100% remote for 7 weeks. So I'm still working full time, but it's way more relaxed not having to spend 1h per day in my car to drive to and back from the office. Also it's lovely to be in a city with so many events and so many of my friends. I've been constantly busy meeting people, going out, re-connecting, even playing a small DnD campaign here and doing pole in a new studio. Last weekend some friends from home visited, so we did some touristy stuff. It’s also great to break out of the circle of constantly doing the same 4 things over and over at home. Re-considering the things I do and want to or not want to do.

I have not recorded a YouTube video here except for the one with Fuxi and Kikki about the new Pairadize Pants. Which was hilarious btw. But I took some creative shots here in the flat (the ones from the poll, yes) and even had a photo shoot with a new photographer in a loft, out of my comfort zone with lingerie. And with Fuxi. :D Unfortunately I'm not allowed to show these pictures here (photographer said no) but I'll upload them to my socials soon. And I have another shoot planned, so I am active. Just not with focus on YT at the moment, but with enjoying my time. I don't even have any pre-recorded YouTube videos anymore to be honest. I did, but I released them all by now. That's why there was no video last Sunday. And since I have to work at a festival today till Friday, there probably won't be a YT video next Sunday either.
What's playing into this YT gap: the last few videos performed rather poorly. Putting all the work into them and thinking "this should be a good-going video since the outfits are so great / it's funny" and then being dissappointed because YT does not show it to a lot of people or they didn't like it or whatever is happening at the moement, and it not hitting view counts anywhere close to satisfying. I don't know why YT is not broadcasting them to my audience and new potential viewers, as it did in the past.
Do I need to rethink what I'm doing? New topics? New whatever? Change the way I do my videos or what I’m showing? More unsubstantial, stupid try-ons? (I noticed an uprising of vids of girlies who are wearing wet clothing on YT as try-ons, but come on…) Re-Inventing me without loosing my core competence and my passion of fashion? Do more shorts? Do a longer break? Start a cooking or workout channel hahah? I’m a bit at loss at the moment. YT says to keep your channel going and growing, you'd have to change the type of content/topics you're soing every 2-3 year. But is that the key? Something I want? This circle of producing the same kind of videos but them not running well is certainly not something I want to spend my time and effort on. So maybe this time away from everything will help me. It certainly does in terms of social life and getting out of my shell again.
As fort he YT topic, I’ll open the group chat here on Patreon. Let’s chat. I’m valuing your input and your support on this platfrom. Thanks for sticking with me. 😊

And regarding the joking idea of a "workout channel": It would certainly be great to watch somebody not wearing the standard sportswear fabrics but more fetish-y outfits like a lot of your wardrobe with shiny lycra, catsuits, etc. But yes, of course, I know, sadly not very practical or comfy... just bringing it up from the audience point of view. In any case, all the best!

Regarding the "YT video performance": I guess the question is how relevant the largest possible audience really is to you. Yes, of course, in terms of monetization it matters - but if you in general [still] enjoy doing the videos the style/way you did them so far, you should just continue to enjoy that.

LaForge

I have heard YT is super frustrating for content creators to work with, so I definitely empathize with you. Wishing you all the best strength and wisdom!

Yes, valid points. On the other hand: it's going to be super time consuming with learning all the skills and know how. I doubt that I would do it and keep YouTube and all my other hobbies up simultaneously.

I remember that video! It wasn't a bad cosplay definitely better than some of the ones I've seen at comic con.but I understand I wasn't the creative type either when I started. But got better over time and with each convention I went to. But I understand just thought that might be something to interest you cause it's new and you can kinda still do what you love

Woo, lots of update carnage here. Glad you’re staying positive, while keeping it real - one would agree the “positive only” types are worse than negativity itself. I’d say following your heart is the best, and embracing your talents. If there’s a need for happy tube to see new content, cooking while wearing a cool outfit should be quite funny. With each new ingredient, a new outfit can be match-actioned in. Then an infusion of workout tropes could be integrated in the cleanup and dish washing methods - such as cool squats to do while drying off a cast iron frying pan. I hope to always enjoy and see new stuff from your treasure trove of then and now goodies, we’re all spoiled rotten here. Whichever direction rocks, if there’s a cooking show, or a fun board game/gaming show - or doing push-ups while rolling dice before next set of moves…. I must blip on a preposition 💕🤘🥹🐿️

I admire all cosplayers! I'm just not really the crafting type of person. 🤪 Making latex outfits is the max. Fun fact: I made a black widow cosplay video a while back and it was another flop. I have 2 more unused (bought) cosplays at home but never made videos with them.

Celene Nox

Could always try your hand at cosplay ? But like what most people ar saying maybe you just need a break and through your break you'll get your epiphany.

Jay Muller

Indeed, I think you’re right. And I think that while people can offer suggestions it’s important to ensure that you’re alright at the end of the day. Even if that means you have a break of a month or more then so be it, you should look after yourself first (especially over some random people on the internet). Hopefully that makes sense!

The main think is that your happy with what your doing

martin hood

Thanks. The most difficult part is YT not telling me what do do better / different or why the numbers are the way they are. Really frustrating. :D

Celene Nox

Thanks! :) I think being more mindful of things you want / do is something you have to learn, too, so let's see.

Celene Nox

Thank you! Yes, working 100% remote is not something my boss wants to have in the company - though my job in online marketing could totally work this way. So I'm glad he agreed right away to this. :)

I think a lot of times a change can be really invigorating. I love the content you create, but I also want the best for you as a person. I know it’s more difficult than it appears. and maybe this change of scenery will help you figure out a way to keep the great content while also boosting your views, if this is what you want to keep doing and it’s healthy for you to keep doing it.

Al Mason

Hopefully having time away will help you clear your mind (even if just a bit) and help you mentally too. And kudos on your boss recognising this too. And while I can’t think of any ideas right now, well, I would say that whatever you decide you have to think of yourself first.

William Lenton

I think having a change of scenary was a great idea (and well done for your boss recognising the importance of wellbeing!). I love what you do, I came for the Corset Story video, and stayed for the hair and your sense of fun. Please don't let what you are doing get you down, I would rather you stopped happy than let it get you down.
