Happy nearly (or newly) New Year, lovely patrons!
On this, the final Monday of 2018, we are delighted to bring you a special issue featuring poetry. Within this issue, you'll find "Breaking" by Marlane Quade Cook, "Spare Parts" by Elizabeth Kestrel Rogers, "La Belle est la Bête" by Milouchkna, and "in the Cult of Nearly-Lost Dreams" by Tamara Jerée.
We also have a podcast of this week's poems read by podcast editor Ciro Faienza and Marlane Quade Cook, which you won't want to miss.
Finally, a word of thanks. It's been a long, difficult year for just about everyone, myself included. But through our individual challenges and struggles, we managed to publish another 51 issues of Strange Horizons, many of which were, I think, some of our best to date. And when I say "we," I really do mean we—the editorial team, the readers, the reviewers, the writers who submit their work to us, and you, without whose support this strange endeavor of ours wouldn't exist. All of us made this sharp, brilliant thing called Strange Horizons, and, if nothing else, that's something worth celebrating.
So, thank you. Here's to another year. Let's make it count.
In gratitude and solidarity,
Kate
