Video Updaterino

Hey y'all, I'm about done putting all the footage in place, about 5 minutes of runtime left to fill. Given that that's where 90% of the technical issues I've been dealing with have lain, I should have that all filled out by tomorrow-ish. Will post another update then.

After that I'm on the home stretch, which is adding all of the overlays and things, which basically amounts to the owls and all the visual gags that accompany them, as well as one slightly more complicated one for this video but that shouldn't be too time consuming. This stage has historically only ever taken me 7-10 days for longer videos like this, so I'm expecting something similar since the little test bits I've already done haven't been prone to the same technical issues as the actual footage has. For anyone who doesn't know what that refers to:

I store all of my recordings on a my computer's E drive, since it's the only one with enough space to hold all of what I record for each video. Since January (and likely before and I just hadn't noticed) that drive has slowly been having major problems. I lost the majority if the footage that I had recorded to use in this video, and about half of what I still had was largely corrupted when saving and full of visual bugs that made it hard to find segments that I could actually use. This persisted for some of the footage when I've tried to re-collect it, meaning that I had to spend ~8 hours one night trying to get a clip that would normally take 5 minutes. If you've paid close attention to how I pace/time my use of clips in the videos you'll know that I'm extremely anal retentive about what clips I use and when/where they cut between each other, so the fact that I had written multiple parts of the script with those clips in mind meant that I had to try to recreate them with as close to the original rhythm as possible.  

Basically, it's been a long, slow, pain in the ass. 

But that portion of editing is very nearly finished, so I should be back on track for finishing up the video at my normal pace (har har I know), assuming that no new issues show up. Sorry for not posting updates on here for a minute, I just didn't want to inundate you with me complaining about the same issues that I've been dealing with week in and week out, since I can't imagine it'd be very useful or interesting to read about.
