Status Update 1-13-20

Heya everybody, here to give another status update. I'm not sure how many of you follow me on Twitter, but as I've mentioned there a few times there have been a few technical fuck ups that have set me back a lot in the making of this video, namely finding that about 75% of the footage I thought I had wound up being either not recorded by Shadowplay or made essentially useless by glitches caused by my old dying GPU. It reached the point where I'd send a friend a screenshot of one of the "minor" glitches that I didn't think was bad enough to warrant scrapping completely since it only occurs for a few frames, and he genuinely couldn't tell what game the screenshot was meant to be of.

I've spent the past couple weeks editing together the gameplay footage and a large portion of that time has been used re-collecting footage I already "had," which is really frustrating since there's not a simple or easy way for me to be much faster at it. It's slow going, but I've been crunching away at it and the gameplay footage is coming together pretty alright, I'm hoping to have the gameplay edit done by the end of the week (next few days if things go alright, fingers crossed) then I can finally get to editing the overlays.

Another issue I've discovered is that Nelson's owner (Nelson is the owl I use pictures of in my videos) may have, either accidentally or for some unknown reason, deleted the shared Drive folder of Nelson photos I use to make the overlays. I've still obviously got all of the overlays that I've already made, but I always try to make at least one new "set" of them per video because it forces me to expand the amount that I have and allows me to ensure a bit more visual variety in the poses and the owner hasn't been responding to my messages so that's concerning me a little bit, ESPECIALLY since I use pictures from the Nelson folder for the thumbnails to avoid any kind of copyright infringement.

That said, if the owner doesn't respond and I don't get access to the folder back I'll just have to grit and bear it, the desire to make new overlay sets isn't important enough for me to justify further delays of this already embarrassingly late video.

I'll post another announcement when the gameplay footage editing has been completed, so expect another one of these within a week or so. As always thank you so much for your patience, I really can't overstate how much it means to me.

Cheers,

Avery

EDIT: Oh, a silver lining though - everything I've recorded with my new GPU has been working flawlessly, better than it ever did even when the old one was new. It even records at a flat 60fps rather than fluctuating from 53.67-59.99 like it used to, which is neat.
