September Release First Preview: Dwarfs Kingsguard Unit!

Good evening guys!

Hope you are all doing great and enjoying the summer a little bit! We are back in business after the days off we took last week with some amazing miniatures and news about the upcoming September 2022 Release in Highlands Miniatures: Dwarfs, Sons of Ymir Vol.3!

Let's see! The September 2022 Release will be composed of:

5x Dwarfs Kingsguard Core miniatures with two handed hammers and heavy armour
3x Dwarf Kingsguard Command Group
5x Dwarfs Crossbowmen Core miniatures
3x Dwarf Crossbowmen Command Group
3x King Ulric of Thrym-Heim upon a shield
Dwarf Crossbowmen Barricade
Dwarf Movement Tray

In the preview images you can see the entire Dwarf Kingsguard Unit, composed of five (5) dwarf kingsguard core miniatures and three (3) dwarf kingsguard miniatures for the command group.

About the Dwarf Kingsguard

… of all the dwarves, the strongest and most courageous are entrusted to the service of the nine kings, their personal guard. Armed with heavy hammers and cast metal armour, these elite warriors will follow their king into battle until victory or to the death, when the hammer falls and they are released from their oath …

Some design elements of these miniatures, like the shoulder pad or the leg armour are based on the Norse Varangian Guard, that used to be the royal guard of the Byzantine emperors.

Now we are working on the Dwarf Crossbowmen unit and soon we will start with our first big hero dwarf miniature, the King Ulric of Thrym-Heim.
