Hunter x Hunter Episodes 132 & 133

Comments

The king believed himself above all. No human was capable of touching him. Netero simply opened his eyes. Humans can destroy anything they want to at any time. A great white shark is tens of MILLIONS of years worth of evolution streamlined into becoming a killing machine. A canon is less than 1000 years of human technological advancement and it blows that shark to pieces. The king naively believed physical power/nen to be the pinnacle of the world, but Netero showed him reality. As for the recovery, radiation doesn't actually poison you. It tears your DNA apart. This leads to your cells being heavily mutated, dead, or damaged. The very foundation of the ants resistances is being ripped apart. The cells in their perfect bodies are now dividing into imperfect copies. This gets worse and worse until the cells can't function and the body dies.

Lol and people said I SPOILED stuff when this comment here is literally saying radiation and nuclear literally 2 words I refused to say to not spoil wow

I know it's weird how some random radiation is taking the insanely powerful beings that are the ants, but I think that's kinda the point. Every time the ants have had to be introduced to something, they've adapted and grown stronger. That's like their main strength: adaptability. But, nobody had introduced radiation as a potential threat (outside of obviously the sun I guess). Makes sense to me that they'd be weak to it.

Renegade

Don’t know if you ever heard this and I’m not sure about the names but there was a Japanese guy exposed to an incredibly lethal amount of radiation. At that moment, he was pretty much already dead. He felt nothing wrong with him for a while. His dna were all destroyed. The doctors could do nothing, they only kept him alive for experiments. I’m pretty sure he was the most radioactive person in history

On Wes's comment about Pitou being able to heal the poison/radiation from the nuclear bomb. It is an interesting thing to think about given her power. I think if we go the poison route her power could definitely repair and fix their bodies, but the nuclear radiation is another story. Nuclear radiation to what the King, Pouf, and Youpi experienced would breakdown and literally destroy the DNA in their cells causing massive destruction on a molecular level. This DNA destruction leads to either the cell committing seppuku (kills itself) or the DNA gets repaired incorrectly leading to various other issues. Regardless I'm not to sure if Pitou's Nen ability is capable of working on the molecular level, and if it is, Pitou is way more G.O.A.T.ed than I initially thought!

He only deserves death, no mercy for children Enders.

talking like this when one of the main character of the show is literally an assasin that kill for fun is funny

Never cared for the king, just because him and Komugi have something going on, people seem to change their opinion about him. Everyone seems to forget what he did to that little kid head the second he was born. He is unforgivable, and I never had sympathy for him no matter what he did. He can’t take away what he did, and what he did is something only the filthiest of creatures would do. All that matters to me is our guys safety and hopefully victory to me. I don’t care about this one month old king and his Komugi situation. And it’s sad that Komugi is blind, and never got to know how cruel the king was and is. The only interest I have in him is his nen power growth, and his new max potential. That’s it.

Its funny how people suddenly want the King to remember his past so he can have a “change of heart” and show mercy, and yet, they refuse to extend even a sliver of the same mercy to the King who has done nothing but learn and grow since the day he was born. He just deserves to die because he’s “too strong,” as if that's a crime. Demanding mercy, while bestowing none. Its nothing but cowardice and a lack of empathy, masquerading as pragmatism and strategy.

Might be an unpopular opinion, since most people will usually vote for “more episodes” anyway but I think ending at 135 is actually better. Yeah, it’s maybe a bit awkward to combine the last and first episodes of two arcs but I don’t think it’s that bad in this case.

Rockycitygirl

Spoiler ? Even if it’s probably not that hard to guess by now, is it really necessary to spoil the reason already instead of waiting until next week, letting them find out on their own and then explaining it?

Rockycitygirl

Also please try to take the next 3 episodes together since they're the end of the arc (it ends at episode 136 not 135)

You guys gotta remember that Youpi & Pouf fed themselves to the king. So whatever happened there should've affected the king by let's say 100%, Youpi 80%, and Pouf 60%. But then the king got healed fully back to health by Youpi & Pouf so they weakened themselves immensely and strengthened him. HOWEVER, all that happened within the same area (next to the bomb), so it's still the "poison" is gonna affect them all, but the percentages changed. Youpi is the weakest since he went in the bombed area deep to get the king, was in physical contact with him (carrying him) the longest, and fed himself to him. Pouf is weak as he also fed himself to the king but less than Youpi since he came in late and never made physical contact with the king. Meruem who should've been the most affected got almost healed to maximum health, yet he still was healed next to the bombed area, and essentially has residue of that initial bomb in him. So they're affected in this order: Youpi (tanked most of the damage), Pouf, and then The King.

make sure to not skip the ending of episode 135, and the post ending scene

As always with Togashi, his characters went such wild transformation that it reversed our expectations: never in a million years we would guess that Palm will go from a crazy stalker with a big knife (lol) to a calm, calculated, smart, well spoken person which is trusted by Killua (of all people!!) to carry and guard Komugi; or that Ikalgo which was initially seen as some funny/weird episodic ant enemy would actually fight with the humans and provide useful support in certain areas of the battle, and give his comrades (Brovada and Welfin) second chance for living their new life with a clear purpose not tied up to any loyalty except for real friendship they earned in their past. This attention to supporting characters made HxH way more relatable as all - ants and humans - participants of this conflict is not silent figures on the gungi board, but rather complex, full of nuances, unpredictable souls with their unique conscience and knowledge (blended from two evolutionary links). Also: two Royal Guards died in a way that doesn't leave us satisfied; it doesn't feel victorious (even if I agree with Steph that their defeat needed for humanity's survival), and instead it somehow feels dirty and shameful because Netero said before his (black) swan song " You know nothing of the bottomless malice within the human heart". Togashi never glorified a war, never glorified raw [nen] or artificial [nuclear weapons] power, never simplified characters (not going into usual trap by painting one side [in this case, of course, humans] in more positive light than other side [not giving all ants villainous image just because they're "our" enemies]). Whole Chimera Ants arc make viewers conflicted about the story as it's beyond "them vs us" or "good guys vs bad guys", and gives quite unpleasant, but truthful picture of what humanity represents. I save some thoughts for later, but HxH is truly a peak manga/anime, and it easily beats even literature/TV series which is considered by snobs as "high art" in comparison (I'm sorry, but there's no such thing as "high art", as long as something makes you fall in love with human creativity - even if it's critical of humanity which is so ironic). Don't make low budget weapons, draw a cool manga instead!
