2026-01-29 15:13:09 +0000 UTCTechnically you could say the hero of the south and Schlacht are actually still fighting , since both can see the future, they basically just set up there prices/ plans and whoever came up with a better plan will win . Kind of like those games were instead of you yourself fighting you get to choose what characters/ units you are going to use & and were to place them then you just hit play the character fight on autopilot and whoever had the better strategy wins. Except instead of hitting play they just took each other out

2026-01-29 00:01:24 +0000 UTCopening is safe from what I can tell, but I am only about one volume ahead of this point. Season one was airing when I stopped reading and the adaptation was better than the manga thanks to the music, acting, colors, etc. This is the only series to date I have done that for! usually I become so obsessed (like MT) where I cannot stop and I read everything...but man. Frieren is just so special. Sorry for the long message --I'm just elated that Peak Fiction has returned

2026-01-26 03:38:56 +0000 UTCI’m with Stark, the noble family should just get rid of the sword by destroying it. The only reason they wouldn’t do that is because of selfish pride. Everytime the sword gets stolen or even when an attempt to steal it is made, innocent people end up dying. I mean I guess it makes sense that the nobility wouldn’t really care about that, but it’s the best solution. It’s literally just sitting on a pedestal doing nothing 😂

2026-01-25 00:58:18 +0000 UTCYea, but to be fair he also had the immense advantage of seeing into the future. Himmel and his party can’t see what moves the Sage is going to make next.

2026-01-25 00:54:08 +0000 UTCHero of the South literally just said.. For those who come after.

2026-01-24 13:40:07 +0000 UTCKnowing when you'll die is both dreadful and terrifying. But it comes with a liberating knowledge that you can practically do anything in that span between now and the time of you death knowing that you won't die yet. You can face enemies head on knowing that you'll come out victorious in the end. And when he said that he'll clear a path for Himmel and the others reminds me of Expedition 33. Ugh, this show is just *chef's kiss*

2026-01-24 05:21:39 +0000 UTCThe Hero of the South in my book is canonically the single strongest entity in Frieren. The hero party struggled against ONE sage at their peak. The Hero of the South fought all 7, AND the omniscient Schlacht, AT THE SAME TIME. The world isn't saved by one person, but by many who choose to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. Unless it's Jesus. And even then the gospel work is accompanied by millions of martyrs.

2026-01-24 03:29:00 +0000 UTCActually the Hero of the South is already mentioned at around Season 1 of Episode 6. Also as the title suggest he is from the same Southern lands as Fern

2026-01-24 01:04:29 +0000 UTCFriren "You have other stuff to eat then steak. There's salad." Sword Demon "But I love steak." Me 🤣🤣🤣 (I crack up on rewatch. Forgive me, I know it was serious scene but I couldn't help it.) OP/ED are worth a watch.(They're all beautifully animated and banger of a song.) What's there on the OP/ED are pretty standard stuff for anime.(Bunch of characters and places out of context, that you won't get until actual episode.) I think it's pretty spoiler free in my book.

2026-01-24 00:09:08 +0000 UTCHe went solo 1 vs 8 (the 7 sages and the demon lords right hand) and still took down 4 of them. He knew that he'd die and all he had in his mind was : For those that come after.

2026-01-23 23:42:05 +0000 UTCTwo tidbits regarding Hero of the South: Im Season 1, the death of Hero of the South at the hands of Seven Sages is referenced. Also, as told in this episode, Schlacht the Omniscient was capable of seeing thousand years into the future. And Hero of the South could also see into the future, AND Schlacht was Demon King's confidant. So Hero of the South was the ONLY one who could take him down as someone who can see the future
