2025-08-30 00:12:39 +0000 UTCRemember in the early episodes of the Chimera Ant arc where Kurt and Reina got killed. I commented that Togashi doesn't do child killings just for the sake of shock value, and that's proven with Colt and how his existence became part of the arc. Another example is with this last episode. That scene where the King and the royal guards descended on a farm to kill and eat a family was one of the hardest things to watch in this arc, especially because we saw how scared and confused the little girl was after seeing her parents die, before she herself got killed. So I really appreciated it when the King acknowledged, and in a big moment at that, that that little girl could have surpassed him in a different field, and it's part of his character development/internal crisis.

It was the same bird that got agitated when the King released his aura as he came to the malicious conclusion that brute force is the strongest power in the world and that he can just simply kill people who are better than him in other fields. That bird went to Komugi and attacked her, same as what the King was intending to do. But when the King saw that, he extinguished the bird instead and protected Komugi as if extinguishing his own malicious intent towards her. It's peak symbolism.

2025-08-28 19:34:53 +0000 UTCBy the way, the aura Knov experienced (the blue one) was not Pitou's (red) but Pouf's. So, what Killua and Gon experienced was Pitou's aura, which is far more malicious than the one Knov experienced.
