Lmao its obvious that this boss was heavily inspired by Overlord main character, down to the names of the magic spells and even personality and the king treatment. Even the way the party met him was extremely similar.

I didn't realize. The anime is sometimes rushed so some details aren't mentioned indeed. But anyway, no machine can evaluate beyond S rank.

2025-02-13 17:33:58 +0000 UTCI mean, I believe you if you say so, but I'm pretty sure it was never stated that it's impossible to measure it more precisely. Even Go Gun-Hee said "the reassessment is but a formality at this point", which means he is an S-Rank for sure because he is already above a certain threshold. However, that doesn't mean a better measurement system couldn't exist. From what I know so far, they could have machines in place that can only measure up to A-Rank on purpose. Then, for hunters who exceed the machine's capacity - who would, by definition, be S-Rank - there would always be a grace period for reassessment using a more advanced machine.

2025-02-13 16:01:18 +0000 UTCYou didn't follow the story properly, there's no way to measure past S-ranks, that tale about "standard equipment" was an excuse (according to Go Gun-Hee himself) to give the Hunter Association time to meet and try recruiting exceptional hunters. A more precise equipment helps segment the results, it doesn't help measuring outside the scoping range. That's why there's such a variety between S-rank hunters, and why past that, the next tier is built by accomplishments, not by measuring aura.

It's not the end of the world, but I do think it's a shame. Hymn carries a different connotation to Song for sure. The animation is absolutely incredible, A-1 is knocking it out of the park!

I thought they would then use a better machine to get a more precise measurement. But as we already saw with his father, there are hunters who are clearly a tier above S, even without leveling up, it seems. Sometimes, stories use S+ or SS to indicate super special ranks or rarities.

2025-02-13 01:29:30 +0000 UTCA-1 is doing a great job here with the animation. It looks so good! I wish the translators were doing as good of a job because Tusk's spells had some cool names. Hymn of Slumber was changed to Song of Sleep. Hymn of Combustion is now Song of High Temperature. The one thing that I hated A-1 changing was Tusk's spell circles. His spell circles in the manhwa were split into the 12 star signs, and each spell represented one of the star signs. So, when he cast Hymn of Fire Dragon his circle would appear and the sign for Leo ♌️ would light up.
