I thought this too, at first. What Mayuri actually meant in this scene coincidentally was her trying to express that she’s overcome the grief of losing her grandma. In other words; “It’s okay now, the persona you put on to comfort me isn’t necessary anymore. I’m okay now. I’m grown up. You can cry for yourself now”. But to Okabe, it symbolized the end of his Mad Scientist front. She was okay now (safe now), and that he could cry for himself now (focus on himself for once). This was, of course, before reaching Steins;Gate worldline.

2025-12-11 11:57:22 +0000 UTCI think the part where Mayuri kept dying did happened on the other timelines, because on episode 22 or 23 (i can’t remember) after Okabe reached the 1.0 divergence timeline Mayuri said that she’s okay right now and he doesn’t have to worry about her anymore. So in a sense, i guess Mayuri also remembers vaguely or has dreams about her deaths while also remembering Okabe has spent countless times trying to save her
