Vincenzo Episode 19

Comments

Hey guys, will you be reacting to all Demon Slayer openings and Homura soon? Just wondering

Samia Anderson

I think that Vincenzo is not used to feeling in love and it shook him to see his love in danger. I agree with Steph!

Phyllis St. Pierre

Think I mistook how this episode ended, is it gone now?

Moroni W

please delete this you just dropped a huge spoiler

Selena Nguyen

I watched this show with my sister and the two of us still think this is the one moment in the show that dropped the ball. It makes absolutely no sense to me why Vincenzo would not only try to take off Cha Young’s restraints but also try to escort her out without helping Han Seo. It’s a total no brainer. We’ve seen Vincenzo be saved by pigeons and even that felt more grounded in something then the component mafia guy who has multiple gun fights with multiple trained fighters randomly making the worst decision.

Moroni W

I was the same..why would you not help Han seo to fight at that moment n then he unties her ropes n starts walking away…this was the biggest flaw in the writing of the show ..you can’t compare normal person to a mafia dude in this situation

Hey Wes and Steph, I would absolutely love if you could give these drama's a watch: 1. Alchemy of Souls. 2. The King: Eternal Monarch. 3. The Devil Judge. 4. The K2. 5. Weak Hero Class 1

😮‍💨 Oh man.. ya, where to begin? The rank-pulling in Korea is probably a little exaggerated for tv, but this kind of thing is real and it's bad. There are so many complications caused by the pecking order they have there. For eg. there's a story of a woman who worked in the military. She was older than some of her superiors, but the ranking there is different, so they consider the length of time you been in the military and your rank, so this put her lower than the others on the rank scale and her superiors abused this. They forced squad dinners, where you're compelled to go by cultural norms, and she was the only woman surrounded by pent up, drunk, frustrated, socially-deprived men. You can imagine what happens.. When she tried to fight. When she reported it, she was blamed, criticize, harassed, and condemned for it to the point that she ended up dead. And this kind of thing happens to men too. Guys on the bottom of the pecking order, usually bear the weight of all the other employee's frustrations, and end up in a pressure cook situation to do everyone's work for no compensation, or they might get publicly humiliated, smacked around, ect. In Anthropology, we're taught that we can't view other cultures through the lens of our own when we examine them, but it's SO hard when you see broken systems like this one. This was implemented to keep order and unity, but when you have capitalism, corrupt institutions and individuals, it becomes such a weapon. And with the state of the job and housing market in Korea right now, it's not like these people can quit their jobs or let themselves be fired. Companies there don't like to hire people who worked at a rival company for a length of time, and if they see the circumstances of you quitting or being fired, the chances to be hired are tight. It's just an all around difficult cultural norm to understand and deal with. Especially as Americans since we tend to be like "screw them! Just quit and find a better job that deserves you!" 😅 It complicates social situations too.

Also everyone loves han-seo 😂

Otherwise it doesn’t make sense that the one time Vincenzo’s smart and calculated decision making is truly needed is the one time he’d just “let himself go” for the sake of emotions.

channie’s cafe

I honestly think it was a poor plot decision with the writers instead of it actually being a character change in Vincenzo 😭 I feel like they were like “yeah you guys, we need to wrap han-seo’s character up because this is is the second to last episode. Just have the Vincenzo character do anything so that Han-seo’s departure is more likely to happen.”

channie’s cafe

Oh boy….can’t wait for your reaction to final episode!!!

Helen l

Yeah i thought this too but i feel like the limited reaction time also sets this apart from that? When his mother was murdered he couldn't do anything right at that moment and there was no urgency or panic present. If the killer was still in the room when Vincenzo got there i don't think he would've walked out of there alive? idk lol

'my boy', 'i think Han-seo's my favourite character' 'Han-seo's the best!': welcome to Han-seo's fanclub! haha, he truly is a charming character! also i agree with what you guys think about the ending, literally it was the only dumb thing Vinny did but again i agree with Steph; Vincenzo has been quite reserved with his emotions so i honestly think this episode was to show how he loves Cha-young, like you guys said in previous eps, we don't really see him pining over her, but in this ep he was quite emotional! esp when he saw the pigs blood at his doorstep, it was quite a scare! and Wes' point about Jun-woo somehow getting something out of it since Vinny was acting a little reckless (never thought about that :o) . overall, he deffo didn't act how we would expect plus i am still a littttttle mad that he didn't go and help Han-seo attack his brother. mixed feelings about next week since its coming to an end but i'm mainly excited to see your reaction! great vid as always :)

kiyo

I honestly don't think Vincenzo even saw that coming just based on his initial reaction (1:30:26). I think he was caught off guard and he acted hastily because of that. Also I feel like this whole thing kind of humanizes his character a little since he has always been such a perfectly calculated decision maker, if that makes sense? I just like when they break him out of that Perfect Mafia Guy™️ mould but i do think they could've done that more throughout the show cus this somehow feels a little out of place? Anyways thank you for the great reaction as always, can't wait for next Ep!

tannie misser

I AGREE ! I screamed at my screen when he made that decision too lol. Also I'm sooo proud of Hanseo, he's just a baby ! He was so brave !

Leenseoh

i agree!!! vincenzo really dropped the ball in that moment. i feel like he always makes the best and most efficient decisions to protect everyone he can, but idk what was going on here. like sure, blinded by emotions, but he wasn’t crazy blinded by emotions when he didn’t end his mother’s killers. idk IDK.
