2025-01-02 08:54:02 +0000 UTCI can't believe such a purely factual comment sparked some controversy because "muh racism". It's really sad we're in such a state as a society, some people don't think they just get triggered instantly.

2025-01-02 00:29:52 +0000 UTCRight and I also think people have an EXTREMELY convoluted idea of what being "grown up" is. Most of the time an adult is considered immature or not grown up just because others can not accept that the person just thinks in a different way. What most consider "grown up" isn't normally achievable until well out of the 30s.

2024-12-27 16:24:27 +0000 UTCRegarding what you're talking about toward the end, you have Zimbabwe's case too. The white farmers were expropriated (in the best case), but afterwards those farms lost all their productivity. Partly because knowledge of how the operate them wasn't passed down, and partly because the gov gave them only to people that had connections (nepotism), not to the few qualified people who may have existed. I remember the same also happened in Soviet Russia, if I'm not wrong it was the Volga German farmers who were expropriated. Taking farms by force never leads to a smooth transition, you always lose productivity because you don't have the cooperation of the former owners to share their knowledge about their farm. Unless there's a significant compensation.

2024-12-26 19:19:33 +0000 UTCIt’s not atypical for men to not grow up until their late twenties or thirties. But in a time where you don’t live past sixty, that’s a lot of your life. Nowadays young men can struggle for longer to find their place because their lives are longer
