Stein's;Gate Episode 9

Comments

"Mow" culture 🤣 moe (mo-ay) is basically romantic trope stereotypes like "tsundere" and "yandere" which are "hot and cold" and "stalker/killer" (it exists for males too)

Just to add to more context, basically, Kurisu is a frequent user of @channel, an in-world version of the Japanese online textboard 2channel. She is very familiar with internet memes but feels embarrassed to admit it. There have already been a few instances in earlier episodes where she wanted to reference some memes but stopped herself. And now that Okabe has found this out, she will never hear the end of it... Poor Kurisu.

It seems like the vast majority of fans in the Steins;Gate community will recommend the released order vs the chronological order, and obviously, the released order is what the writer intended. Also, Wes and Steph tend to release anime on YouTube by the season, and having to edit two seasons at the same time (along with the OVAs) is going to be more time consuming and complicated. Released order: Season 1: Steins;Gate OVA: Egoistic Poriomania Movie: Load Region of Deja Vu OVA: 23B - Kyoukaimenjou No Missing Link: Divide by Zero Season 2: Steins;Gate 0

The scene where Kurisu references a meme was actually localized, so she actually said, "This guy is hopeless, I better do something about it." Which is a Japanese meme from Death Note when Misa tells Kira in front of everyone, that they should show their shinigami to each other, revealing their secret, and Kira goes, "Dame da koitsu, hayaku nanika shinai to." (This guy is hopeless, I better do something about it.)

I, too, watched s1 when it was first released. I think it is difficult to argue which order is better for new viewers based on our experience. You said rewatching it in chronological order gave you more satisfaction. But it is hard to say how much of it was because of the order, and how much was because you already knew the story and is therefore getting a different experience rewatching it. We could never truly know what the actual experience would be like for a new viewer. We can only try to imagine. For me, my main criticism about chronological order is the pacing. Steins;Gate is already a slow-paced show. I think the storytelling benefits much from the s1 finale climax after 22 long episodes. Jumping to Zero would drag it on for far too long. Anyway, the bottom line is, I am confident that Wes and Steph are smart enough to be able to stitch things together no matter the watch order. And I know they will never forget any gaps in the story until they find the answers that fill them. šŸ˜‚

1. Love you guys, merry christmas! 2. Just watch in release order, no need to overcomplicate it 3. Its OkaRIN (OKAbe RINtarou) 4. Yup thats Christina in the ending, just more stylized

just read some suggestions from reddit link and the reddit community seems to be divided into 2 types (50:50). As someone who watched this show before stein gate zero and until finished everything in 2019 (100% based on release date) and it did not give as much satisfaction as when i rewatched it chronologically (in 2023). Watching in Chronological order provides more of an impact/suspense from the overall story as you do not know what is going to happen. If you are someone who doesn't like much spoilers you should watch it in Chronological order. Of course this is my subjective opinion and I think this is also why i call it "the best order suggestion" for steph and wes since they need to spend time on other anime anyway. Both ways are brilliant, but to be fair, watching it chronologically will save your time stitching events together. which is extremely suitable for those who watch this anime 1 ep per week

There are multiple watch orders for Steins;Gate, to be honest, and I don't think there is a definitive best order. The release order is usually more than fine; after all, it's the intended way to consume the series. If anything, some adjustments could be made for certain OVAs or movies, but it's kind of cringe (to me) to switch to the next season before even finishing the current one. I would go with something like this, I guess : Steins;Gate (Season 1) Steins;Gate 23β - Missing Link/Divide by Zero (OVA) Steins;Gate 0 (Season 2) Steins;Gate Egoistic Poriomania (OVA) Steins;Gate The Movie

Because they are mad scientists lol

I don't think this is something commonly agreed upon by most of the community. (See r/steinsgate FAQ or the stickied comment in this Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/steinsgate/comments/ampl9o/order_to_watch_steins_gate/) I personally loved the experience I had watching it in release order. And you can always rewatch the last episodes of s1 after Zero. It is perhaps debatable what's the "best" viewing order. But also remember, most fans became fans after watching the show in release order, so imho it is the safest bet when suggesting it to new viewers.

you guys should watch this anime by following this order : -First, watch stein gate 2011 (ss1) only including 22 eps, do not watch the final 3 eps -Then, watch stein gate special episode 23 (Beta) : Open the Missing Link -After that, watch stein gate zero (2018) which is known as stein gate ss2 -Then you guys watch the last 3 eps in season1 (2011) -Finally, watch 2013 movie stein gate. This is the anime viewing order that has been agreed upon by the viewer community. It does not take away from the drama or appeal of the movie but it also helps your viewing experience reach its best level, It's like you're traveling in a time machine through every movie release date.

Okabe's parents aren't in the story at all, but they are alive. They still live at their family home in the Ikebukuro district. Remember Okabe is an 18 year old college student so "the lab" is basically just his own rented apartment to be close to the university both him and Daru attend. It makes sense why his parents wouldn't be here lol. Also glad you guys caught onto the significance of the city changing. Akihabara in real life is the city of otaku nerd culture where all the different niche nerd shops (anime and other types of stuff) are. In the Steins Gate world, Faris is the reason for it šŸ˜‚ Now that Faris changed the past, we're led to believe that attraction element of the city is now gone and has reverted back to a normal electronics town.

The first jump WAS initiated by us. Accidentally. In Episode 1 after Okabe saw Kurisu's bloodied body, he sent a text to Daru talking about it, and that is where the worldline shifted. We then found out in Episode 3, that around the time Okabe would've sent that text to Daru, Daru had hooked up his phone to the Phonewave while he was doing tests on the microwave's reverse spin cycle. So basically the first worldline shift in Episode 1 was the result of an accidental d-mail.

Okabe cracked under peer pressure šŸ˜‚

It’s kinda funny how Wes calls Okabe ā€œOkarunā€ instead of ā€œOkarinā€. Dandadan’s influence, I guess šŸ˜…

Ruslan

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! There's two seasons total, two OVAs, and a movie.

James

Yea i never understood why tf they agreed to it

Yellow_Flash

Even if she's their friend, the fact that they agreed to let Feyris send a potentially reality altering D-mail without even knowing what it's about is pure insanity to me.

Rockycitygirl

It's not in the collection, but if you go to "post" then search "Stein's;Gate episode 6" you should find it.

Mashpotato

Now that you guys have completed the AOT series there’s a hidden gem in the series you guys have to check out! Attack On Titan: Junior High (totally not canon but it has hints of S1 and S2 before it came out) it’s super light hearted and all comedy

Seriouslyzapp

Just started with your reactions to Steins Gate, but I think episode 6 is missing?

Wurzeldieb

Okabe is a a nice person, but is also a Tsundere. And yes that’s Kurisu at the end, diff lighting.
