Wait, they stop THERE!? Deep breaths... I think the people at the Onsen Village are aliens again. Especially with that Tsuchinoko foreshadowing. Though he talked about Lizard people earlier? Curious about the ghost, too, and the room with all the letters. Damnit, now we wait.

Also, the timeframe until the next season is pretty short. It reminds me a bit of Code Geass, which had an insane cliffhanger at the end of Season 1 and about a one year gap before Season 2 started. I’m not even sure if they had planned for Season 2 back then, considering it was an anime original without any guarantee of popularity.

2024-12-21 16:49:21 +0000 UTCThat's also what I think. I think it's a strategy to save production time and lessen the waiting time for the audience. If they had released a 24 episodes season, it would have cost us to wait 2 or 3 years for a new season. But by splitting it into two parts of 12 episodes, they can have the time to produce the next season while those two parts are airing separated by an interval of 6 months. It's a very experimental way of producing an anime release, I never saw a studio do that, but it might actually work on the long run.

2024-12-21 06:23:00 +0000 UTCI heard a Japanese animator say that characters' hair colors in anime are just there for cosmetic values and the characters' hairs are not actually colored. According to him, it's just there to represent their colorful personalities, but other characters just see black hair. I don't know what to make of that statement, but I know Ranma 1/2's protagonist's female form has black hair in the manga and red hair in the anime, so he might be unto something, I don't know.

Turbo Granny, Okarun, and Aira are there all the time so they'd be cooked if the talismans were active. Also, Momo can defend herself now so Seiko probably feels more secure about leaving them off.

The others were based on legends of how malevolent spirits of people formed, but those Shinto talismans are the kind meant to hold suuuper bad youkai or malevolent gami (little kami) which are like.. Great Spirits of nature/concepts. Something was being held in that building, and judging by all those talismans, it took a LOT to get it there. It is probably the kind that is so strong, it's energy can infect the area it's in (eg. A spirit tied to a tree by talismans that contains so much negative energy, everything around it, including the tree, is dead and if you get too close, you become ill or connected to the spirit in some way so it starts trying to get you to free it. Can't remember if this was from Inuyasha, Youkai hunters, or something else tho) in other words, Jiji and Okarun just let out a big baddie, me thinks. 😅 also creepy rapist dudes seem to be possessed of that negative energy so if it's leaking that much? I'm very curious what we're gonna see. At first, I thought it was gonna be an alien because it and those lines looked like it could be, but now I think the lines Jiji sees were representative of the lines of energy leaking

2024-12-20 23:53:53 +0000 UTCConsidering season 2 will come out in July, I assume they intended for season 1 to be 24 episodes, maybe in 2 cours, but at some point decided to market it as 2 different seasons. Cause this doesn not feel like a season finale at all.
