Stein's;Gate Episode 6

I think you forgot to add this to the collection

Lol no it's alright, but thank you! 💜 it was awkward and I hate drawing attention to myself, but it oddly opened up some social doors I close on myself. Like that annoying first day of a new class when every professor makes you introduce yourself to the class and you have to worry about what to say about yourself to sound interesting and whatnot, my surgery was right before I started my speech and rhetoric class, so my professor wanted us to do it in a certain way that facilitates more getting-to-knowing, so being stuck using my phone to talk, not only did that relieve some pressure of having to speak to the whole class and create a dating profile on the spot (totally sounds like one) but I had the opportunity to fully write out a well-formed thought and some jokes about my situation for my phone to read to the class, and it broke the ice better than if I had to speak lol I instantly became much more interesting apparently and made friends with half the class, my professor, got into some weird debates, people were coming to me for advice on what to eat after teeth removal. That was the most fun social class I had. ☺️ I even won our Halloween contest we had. We were supposed to dress up as something that had to do with a point to it, then use rhetoric to argue why it is the best costume. I dressed as Toothless (Still die laughing everytime I tell this) and then my phone's robot voice doing the speech thing "I'm Toothless from How to train your Dragon because.. I am toothless HAHA" and made my professor cry laughing 🤣 someone tried to say I did not use rhetoric, so I said "I used Pathos, because now you all will feel emotionally obligated to vote for me" and my professor just couldn't handle that response coming out in the flat robot voice lol

Awww I’m so sorry you had to do that!!

I know 😂 despite how lost they are and throwing out random predictions into the dark... its crazy 👀

Oh I agree regarding the science stuff. The anime does well to keep mostly the most important parts in, but reading the visual novel the fascinating part was watching Okabe and Kurisu discuss their psuedo science theories (based on some real physics understanding) behind why the time travel mechanics work the way they do. It literally was like watching a group of amateur scientists experiment on something making hypotheses, observing and collecting data on the results. Its the fun of watching the full process happen in front of us, which helps ground the time travel to a believable level that it could exist in our world.

I totally agree, it would be nice if they gave it a watch

Claude

Oh shit they're watching Steins;Gate? Yaaaaaaa

I don’t know the video, but there are so many different stereotypes of characters that it’s almost impossible to remember them all just by watching a Youtube video once. (Not saying they shouldn’t watch it if they want to.) They’ll naturally learn more about it as they watch more anime. Also, people in the comments are usually there to help if they have questions or misunderstand something.

Rockycitygirl

I could be wrong, but new girl might just be the stereotype of social anxiety. 😅 I do think that she knows more about the tech they're using, but I can't decide if I think it's because she's part of STERN, or if she's a tech-nerd and learned from her father all about this stuff. Perhaps her presence facilitates some kind of change in their progress because she knows more about the tech? Also fun fact: I went around a year and a half talking via my phone like her after I got an oral surgery that worsened my anxiety issues, which oddly facilitated me making a couple foreign student friends, since they also could really only talk via phone 😂 this was also around the time I first started watching your channel

Yeah, as someone explained it in the previous post, the Earth is rotating around the sun, the sun is rotating in a galaxy, and the galaxy is moving around in the universe, so an object through a black hole will probably require vast amounts of complex calculations which then may require a quantum computer to do so. That's my understanding of it, but it sounds like Steph has a strong STEM background, and she probably has a better understanding than any of us do.

James

Agree

Kuutearica

I agree with this, it’ll probably help with all other animes to come with as well.

A lot of people really dislike the first half of steins gate, saying that’s it boring and stuff like“get through the first half then it starts to get good”. But honestly what made me fall in love with this anime as much as it did was the silly banters, the clever dialogue, the joking mannerisms, the character interactions. All of those things are what adds on to the entirety of both seasons. But nowadays everything needs to be taken in immediately which kinda ruins immersion and build up of shows. However, I do understand those people as well. Something I felt that lacked in this show was MORE of the sciencey stuff. This anime is based off a VN (Visual Novel) which are like literal story telling games. In the vn, there was a lot of information for the grounded “pseudoscience”. If you remember in episode 2 where Kyoma and Christina were arguing during her discussion, it skipped over the argument on time machines which in the visual novel explained the whole discussion and it was so interesting which kinda upsets me that it was cut out. It’s on yt if you guys wanna check it sometime. Wrote way too much cause I love this show and hopefully you guys go through steins;gate 0 (second season) as well cause for some odd reason, reactors don’t watch all of it 🙏🙏🙏

If you want to learn more about the "quirks" of anime characters, you can check out " EVERY "DERE" TYPE EXPLAINED " by DevBrev on YouTube. I think it did a good job explaining.

Wes is lowkey cooking 👀

Maybe I'm not understanding it, but if you travel back in time, and supposedly end up wherever your current position is, but in the past, wouldn't you always end up in space? Earth, along with our galaxy, and many others, are all being pulled towards something known as the Great Attractor. And things move really fast in space. Even just a few minutes would leave you in the middle of space, soon to be hit by Earth hurling through space towards where Earth will be in the future, the place you time traveled from. If we're talking space time, then it doesn't care if you were in Chicago, rather than that, you were at these coordinates in space. You're only going to end up on Earth if Earth was in that part of space at that time. But realistically you could maybe only travel 0.1 seconds back in time and still end up on Earth, but even that might be enough to leave you in Earth's atmosphere... I don't know how fast our galaxy is actually moving, so I can't say exact numbers. So that means this time machine takes you to the space and time of the past, and not just a different time, but the same space you traveled from. Ugh, I hate time travel stories... And yet I freaking love Steins;Gate.

I love how no matter who is watching Steins Gate for the first time, everyone always makes the Facebook joke with FB 😂
