I think a great starter is ITS OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY. To me, each episode is like a life lesson, and great story telling. Great mix of romance, thriller, comedy (and a lot of tears). 16 episode 1 hr long, and on Netflix.

'Our blue' is must watch also Tae favorite. Jimin sing ost and it's highest rating in Korea of all time. It not just good this really give you something some feeling and some thought. I always recommend this show to everyone it's open many door for you. Even now can't belive how script is wroted.Available in Netflix. I hope you find time watching this series it's impressive :)

Since it's your first kdrama I recommend you guys to watch something short first, since kdrama usually has 16 episodes that are atleast 1hr long, it might be hard for you to react. And since your new to kdrama I DON'T recommend you to watch historical dramas (dramas that are set in ancient times) such as 'Alchemy of Soul' or 'Hwarang' because it might be hard to understand. 1. My Name = 8 episodes (its about a woman seeking revenge for her father's death) 2. Weak Hero class 1 = 8 episodes (its about a high school student who fights violence inside and outside of the school using his intelligence.) 3. Juvenile Justice = 10 episodes (its about a judge solving juvenile crimes and that are based on real life crimes) This is a good show that educates people about the rights and duties of juveniles. But if you guys don't mind watching long kdramas with 16 episode I could recommend them. 4. It's okay to not be okay (the story took place in a Psychiatric Hospital, and just like its title the drama has a heart warming story and message) 5. Flower of Evil (its about a man who hides his identity and past from his wife, who is a detective.) In terms of story line and acting this is one of the best kdrama I've seen. Since people have different tastes in terms of genre, I recommend you guys should watch the trailers of these different kdramas we recommended and chose for yourself what you guys find its interesting to watch :) Thank you alwats for ur reaction and have a nice day 💕

kdrama recommendations: for romance i recommend “crash landing on you” “it’s okay to not be okay” “itaewon class” “true beauty” and “our beloved summer” (fun fact: V from BTS made OST songs for two of these dramas, itaewon class and our beloved summer) my personal fav is it’s okay to not be okay! for kdrama recommendations more so focused on seriousness, horror, suspense/drama centric, dystopia-ish then i’d recommend “squid games” “all of us are dead” “alice and borderland” “sweet home” and “my name”. also there’s one horror Thai drama that i love called “girl from nowhere”. I feel like the best kdramas to watch for a beginner is “crash landing on you” and “itaewon class”. Hope this helps :)

I’m just going to basically copy over my previous comment here! Sorry if it’s long!!! These are all sort of more light hearted in a way mainly because Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist can get kind of depressing as well as Attack on Titan lol. -Goblin (supernatural, funny, lots of angst but offset with super cute romance and extremely funny characters)— this is probably one of my favorites of all time! The way the cast of characters interacts is just so hilarious while having some heavy themes going around in the foreground as well. It kind of reminds me of Jujutsu Kaisen in that way. I think you’d all really enjoy the supernatural element as well and it has some historical/mythological references without going too deep! -Extraordinary Attorney Woo (lawyers and court obviously, absolutely hilarious comedy, less romance focused maybe ?, Autistic character which is a plus!) -Vincenzo (mafia, vigilantism kinda, kind of gore and heavier than anything else on this list) -Weight Lifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (school romance at a sports centric school, kind of accepting yourself for who you are themes, friendship, absolutely hilarious) -Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (superpowers, work romance kind of, family issues, background crime/mystery plot, also exceptionally hilarious, male lead is the biggest simp of all time which is obviously a positive lol) Personal favorite light hearted ones were Weightlifting Fairy Kim bok joo and Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. They’re both about women who are super strong and kind of seen as undesirable because of it in a way. Weightlifting fairy is about a sports school where she’s a weightlifter so she directly has to deal with being seen as not as conventionally attractive and the stigma of that while going after the guy she loves; Meanwhile strong woman has supernatural strength and it’s more about her sort of coming to accept that it can be a good thing. The best part is how hard the male leads simp over them after especially because of their strength. Personally I find them both hilarious and still rewatch them. I know a lot of people will recommend Hwarang because V acted in it, but I say this with love as a fan of BTS since 2015, Hwarang was very underwhelming in terms of plot and just characters in general. I love pretty much all of the actors in it but I loved them way more in other dramas (except V since this was his only one so far :)). They had a lot of famous actors/idols who are all arguable great actors, but they didn’t really have a story worth telling and none of the character relationships were explored as they should have been. It feels extremely flat and there isn’t enough focus on the story and character development. Also V plays a pretty minor role because I originally watched for him and he’s kind of a cross between a minor and side character (he has maybe 30 min to 1 hr of screen time total). The acting is basically good or decent but the writing is bad so it falls short. Additionally it’s a historical drama and there’s a lot of context that’s needed to understand Korean history in that setting (not plot wise but I mean more the cultural background and why certain characters are expected to do certain things, etc.). It would be more difficult to start with. I wouldn’t recommend Alchemy of Soul for the same reason. Thank you so much for all your reactions and all the time and effort you’ve been putting into this! It seriously makes me so happy whenever you guys upload cuz it feels like I’m watching a show with my friends while I eat dinner after work! Both of you are so sweet and I appreciate all the commentary too! I hope y’all have a great 2023!

I would love to see Extraordinary Attorney Woo, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, the King's Affection or the Glory. I feel like Attorney Woo would be good and as a mostly lighter intro to kdramas, the King's Affection is a great period drama, and It's Okay to Not Be Okay deals a lot with mental health and past trauma in a very interesting/unconventional way. If you guys like zombie dramas definitely Kingdom (another period drama, phenomenal) or All of Us Are Dead are really great ones. All of these are on Netflix! Edit: I forgot to say the Glory is a great revenge drama, so so well executed and thought out! Part 1 has 8 eps for now and Part 2 airs in March!
