2024-11-27 01:07:04 +0000 UTCI definitely want the option to be out there for myself. Please don't make me linger on when I'm no longer able to live the life I choose to live. I watched both parents and my grandmother lay in a dark room for way too long. I think that given the choice, they may have decided to travel on. Guess I'll have to get my a** to Canada BEFORE I'm limping from room to room, wishing I could drive up a dirt road and enjoy the things I love to do. That's my perspective. Thank you for bringing this to light, I didn't know anything like this was even available in Canada!!

2024-11-20 00:17:26 +0000 UTCTough one, bud. Love your stuff, glad to be helping to fund your work. However, I live in Canada, specifically in Gastown, Vancouver. I lived right by the DTES, the drug den of Canada. Considering the numbers are somewhere between $7-10 billion to take care of 32,000 homeless across the country, we're looking at around $300k per homeless person. The sad truth is that so many of them are addicted to fentanyl, it might be kinder to offer MAiD as there's *almost* no coming back from that drug. I personally do see the dignifying aspect of MAiD too, seeing my girlfriend's grandma get to say goodbye while she dealt with stage 4 cancer. The alternative would be *my* grandparent (in another country without MAiD) withering into just skin and bones. I can guess which country he would've preferred to die in. The nurse telling her patient she's 'selfish' for not accepting MAiD is pretty disgusting, however. It's pretty difficult to solve problems like this, as there will always be bad actors in every career. I would love to see you be a little more bipartisan. For example, if you could speak to a doctor about this, and propose your worries, it would be good to get another perspective. People are divided enough.
