New Vlog from Oregon

Hey guys, we're in Oregon and getting set up again. We had a pretty fun road trip over here. For anyone interested in that kind of thing, we left PA on August 17th (late in the day). We didn't make it out of PA. We stayed in Clearfield, PA. (I'm calling that day 0 b/c we really didn't get far)

Day 01 - August 18th (PA - IN)

We drove from Clearfield, PA to West Chester Township, Ohio, where we went to EnterTRAINment Junction. Found Dino Fury Gold at Target, then made it to Greensburg, IN.

Day 02 - August 19th (IN - IL)

We left our hotel in Greensburg, Indiana, went to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, lunch at Subway in Crawfordsville, IN, made in to Illinois. Got some pie at the Jubilee Cafe in Edwards (as they were closing) and then ate our pie at our hotel in Galesburg, IL.

Day 03 - August 20 (IL - MN)

Left our hotel in Galesburg, made it to Iowa. We had breafast at Breakfast at Berries in Le Claire, IA. Got some junk food at Casey's in Mechanicsville, IA. Drove through a very cool historic town in Cascade, IA, and then walked around the Field of Dreams movie set in Dyersville, IA. I had no idea such a thing existed! I expected an empty corn field. Didn't know the Yankees had just played there. You can tour the house too (but that's extra).

Had dinner at Pizza Ranch Buffet in Albert Lea, Minnesota. They had dessert pizza! In Blue Earth we drove through an epic rain and lightning storm. We had to get off the road, there was no visibility. Went to Walmart in Fairmont, MN. I won't list every place I looked for toys, the summary is minus Ohio, nowhere from PA to OR had anything at all. Not a single Auto Morphin anywhere, and I did look! Stayed in Fairmont.

Day 04 - August 21 (MN - SD)

Left our hotel in Fairmont and made it to South Dakota. In Mitchell, SD, we went to the World's Only Corn Palace. Considered Ditty's Diner in Kimball but ended up going to Al's Oasis in Oacoma, SD for lunch. Had to go to Wall Drug in Wall, SD (they make their own fresh doughnuts). That's a cool place. And this time we made it to Mount Rushmore before the sun set, in Keystone, SD. There's really a ton of things to do/see in South Dakota. That could easily be its own week long trip.

Day 05 - August 22 (SD - MT)

Left our hotel in Custer, SD, and had breakfast at Baker's Bakery & Cafe. Went on a short hike through Hell Canyon (didn't seem so bad!) and then entered Wyoming. Upton, WY claims to be the best town on earth. Can't confirm. Who am I to argue with their sign though? Mia needed a root beer float at A&W in Gillette, WY. They blended it, I recommend! Then Montana. We explored Custer Battlefield Trading Post & Cafe. They were advertising "Indian Tacos" which Mia really wanted to try. Yes, that is what they were being called, but another term is "Native American Fry Bread." (Sadly the cafe was closed, maybe next time!) We did finally try Taco John's in Billings, MT. We tried to stay at Holiday Inn in Billings, which was crazy expensive. Then we found a Best Western Plus which had that awesome pool (featured in this vlog) and they were way more affordable. Spend more for no pool? Or save money by swimming in awesome pool? It was an easy choice. That was the cool lodge themed hotel with the little wooden bear sculptures climbing all around.

Day 06 - August 23 (MT - WA)

Left the good-pool hotel in Billings, MT. Got gas and did more nothing-toy hunting in Bozeman, MT. Drove past the continental divide. Drove through Deer Lodge, MT trying to find an A&W which was closed. Super cool prison-themed town. I wanted to explore but we couldn't really stop anymore. Making bad time. Made it to Idaho, stopped in historic Wallace for bathroom. That's another really cool historic town. Gas in Spokane, WA, and stayed in a spooky old Red Lion hotel in Ellensburg, WA. The price was right! (Holiday Inn was literally next door, they were sold out.  They told us there was a hotel down the street... can't tell if the person was being a jerk or trying to save us from the spooky Red Lion?)

Day 07 - August 24 (WA)

That Red Lion hotel was weird! And large! When we went to check out, we drove around to what we thought was the lobby, walked in, and it was a weed store! Which the hotel wrapped around. I'd never seen one before, it was so... not sure how to describe it. Shiny... futuristic somehow? I was very confused. Then we went to Wendy's for breakfast. We drove to Olympia, WA to see Mia's dad and stayed over.

Day 08 - August 25 (WA - OR)

And then we made it to Roseburg, OR, where we've been eating, packing, doing some shopping, etc.

Today I bought some set supplies. Gonna try to do a foam set video for over here, now that I'm a little more settled.
