Cancelled

Hey guys, 

Eh. I cancelled. I did read all of your comments, hoping to find something I hadn't thought of. Again, here's what they said: "Please note that we will want these interviews to focus solely on the Pulse Fan Fest Power Rangers panel reveals since time is limited" 

So, between that, the stream, and my previous visits to Toy Fair, I can't think of a single thing that any of us *really* need to know, which they will answer. The capsule things sound interesting, but they mentioned in the stream that was as much as they could say and to stay tuned, we'll find out soon. 

Last two Toy Fairs I did take every last question I saw in the comments with me, and every answer was "stay tuned" or the number to their customer service. Re: Quality control, the answer was something generic like they work hard to make everything perfect, contact them if there's an issue. I asked about overseas people too. Sounds like what they told me may have differed from what people are actually seeing (or not seeing)? 

They'll never answer any questions about things that were not revealed. They just want to focus on the things that they're showing. I haven't found a Greg-from-Bandai at Hasbro yet. Some nice people there for sure, don't get me wrong, but, Hasbro's been pretty good about only saying what they were prepared to say at whatever the event was. Any questions/ideas/suggestions for future things gets a "stay tuned, we've got big things planned" response. Bandai was easier to talk to, for sure.

I'll have a video with the new figures when they're released. We'll know everything we're wondering about them when they're out. Which crystal does which ranger come with is probably something few people over there would even be able to answer, but we'll know upon the release. If they got something wrong, I'm sure those figures are in production already either way and too late to make changes. They look great, after you put a mini bag over poor Billy's head. :) 

Last thing I want to add, someone was concerned cancelling could result in them not asking me to do future things. I appreciate the thought. However, same deal with Hasbro as with Bandai and Saban. We're doing free promotion for their show/toys. They're not promoting us (or even sending us review copies outside of maybe a yearly promotional thing - which arrives well after the toys in questions have been out in stores, and reviewed to death online). 

Being close with the companies sounds cool, for sure, and was very exciting in the beginning. How cool that early on, the official companies recognized our channel and gave us inside access that we could bring to the fandom. But it really resulted in a lot of hate, resentment, and mistrust for us in the PR community (which was Bandai Greg's initial concern about working with us in any capacity). Doing this really doesn't have any benefit for us. As JDF likes to say, "We do it for the fans!" ;) But really, that's it. If I can get useful info for fans, or make their voices heard at the company, I'm happy to do it. That's honestly what's in it for us. 

On a side note, we attended Toy Fair in 2020. On the train ride into the city that morning, looked at my phone, and everything had already leaked. By attending Toy Fair, I ended up being one of the last people to get a video up b/c I was stuck AT the event while everyone at home was making their video. It was old news by the time we got home from the event. So, that's the world we're living in now. Different from when we started the channel, of course. 

On my end with toy releases, I'm happy to just wait. I know everything is revealed in time. My predictions on the channel always come true, so I've demonstrated a pretty good grasp on what to expect in the future, and I always share that in the videos. Last night I flashed back to my Aisha predictions from when people were concerned she wouldn't get a figure. Metallic Armor it was! And I'll bet we'll see her again too....

I think that covers a lot of it. I do thank everyone for commenting. I just don't think Hasbro's left much to actually ask, where a satisfying answer can be expected. 

And we'll try to figure out some more vlog related stuff over here going forward. We can do PR too. But, happy to see that's not the only reason you guys are here :)
