Hey guys, one of our patrons had some bad luck with heat messing up paint on some of his new Gaoranger power animals. :(
Top photo is mine, that was a Gorilla I got at Robo Toy Fest (or one of those cons) and someone beat it up good! I gave it a Bruno-bath and then spray painted the silver. That was a nice glittery silver (I think I got that paint at Home Depot). That was real easy b/c you can unscrew and isolate the solid-color pieces and just spray the thing.
A little different with the Deer Antlers, since they have the gold on there. Personally I'd probably take a brush with a little of my favorite DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Shimmering Silver and try to carefully fill in the damaged parts. That silver is usually a perfect match. I'd also probably keep an eye open for a new set of antlers too, but I don't know how easy they are to find these days.
Taking them off a Bandai America version might also be an option... but I think Bandai's was missing the gold paint, if I remember correctly. Also sometimes the Bandai America stuff goes for more than Japan, which I never really understood... and sometimes you get lucky with both, just gotta keep checking. And if you're someone looking to sell some antlers, I know someone who's looking.
And speaking of Wild Force/Gaoranger, GaoGod is up for pre-order on Tokullectibles. I think I need that!
