Danger! Exploding Balloons!

Hey guys, here's a college story. 

It was nearing graduation. Mia and I thought this was surely the end of BruMia in a few days, since we'd be on opposite sides of the country and looking for work. I invited Mia to my home in NJ for a few days so we could have some alone time (no offense Jerry & Julie!)

While in NJ we went to Party City and decided to buy a ton of balloons and fill the dorm. Have a little end of college party. So, that's what we did. When Mia and I returned to school, we spent the day blowing up a ridiculous amount of balloons and filled our dorm. 

About two days or so later, they started to randomly explode! Sometimes during the day, sometimes in the middle of the night. POP! POP! POP! And it was loud and startling! The balloons had to go, as fun as they were. But where?

Before bad neighbors, we had... bad roommates & suitemates! All of us have various stories from all four years, some are pretty interesting. The last suitemate was an unbelievable slob and had attracted a large variety of NY wildlife into the dorm (mostly consisting of giant roaches, maggots, and mice).

As I look at this photo, I'm trying to remember how we even got the balloons to stay that way... but, somehow we managed to make a giant balloon wall with the remaining balloons. There was a little hall that went to his single room. 

Suitemate eventually came back and found his room blocked by a ton of balloons. He looked up and down the wall, let out a long sigh and asked, 'WHY IS MY TRASHCAN EMPTY?" Yeah, that would have been my first question too! ;) 

 ...it was empty b/c we couldn't take the smell anymore, and it was attracting pests, so we took it out. Also note, epic balloon wall! 

Well, he noticed the balloons too. He was not amused. He went into the kitchen and grabbed a large knife which I hoped wasn't for us! He proceeded to stab at the balloons. He yelled, "This isn't funny! I have somewhere I need to be!" But that didn't stop him from popping every last balloon. I guess he wanted to make sure the wall didn't come back while he was gone? Some people can't appreciate a giant wall of balloons I guess.

And, that was the end of the graduation balloons.
