April 2025 Production Update

I spent the first week-and-bit of March experimenting with different games to figure out which one I’d use for the next 50 Ways to Die video. I considered Roblox, Grand Theft Auto V, Rust, Skyrim, ARK: Survival Evolved, No Man’s Sky, Team Fortress 2, and many others, but in the end, I chose Elden Ring because it has a good balance of enduring popularity, modability, abundance of content, and my own familiarity with it thanks to my experience playing the Dark Souls games.

However, despite that familiarity, I’d never actually gotten that far into Elden Ring myself, so the first thing I had to do (after verifying that the mods and tools I planned to use to make Elden Ring machinima actually work) is beat Elden Ring, which could prove difficult because HowLongToBeat . com says that’ll take at least 60 hours (probably more, in my case). So I spent the rest of the second week playing Elden Ring. By the end of the second week, I still hadn’t beaten it yet (for those of you who know the game, I’d only managed to get past Godrick the Grafted at that point), but the month was half over, so it was time to work on the monthly smaller video.

And so I spent the rest of March working on that Boy Who Spied Wolves video. If you haven’t seen it yet, just look at the post just before this one. It should be there. The public version of that video goes up this Saturday.

Now that that video’s done, I’m gonna go back to playing Elden Ring. I hope I can finish it before the middle of April because I really want to start working on 50 Ways to Die in Elden Ring. The longer it takes me to beat the game, the more my producer shoulder angel yells at me. I might also upload some of my older videos to TikTok to see if I can get an audience over there, too, though none of my 50 Ways videos yet. I’ve got a special half-baked plan for them.

Once the middle of April rolls around, I’ll make another small video. I have no idea what that’ll be yet.
