[Poll] With the Space Marine helmet coming to a close, should we do a Chaos Space Marine contest?
Added 2024-12-03 16:50:00 +0000 UTCWe still have a couple of Chaos Space Marine helmets to finish but I wanted to see what you all thought. Structure and prizes would be the same, about a 2 month long contest starting around the new year.
Let me know your thoughts!

2024-12-07 14:53:14 +0000 UTCi agree with most of the comments. space marines have been done now. if the next contexts is the same you will end up with the same helmets. i think start releasing halo helmets and do a contest on that.

2024-12-03 19:00:21 +0000 UTCMy view is a different themed contest...would be cool same structure as before, but be more clear about the rules i.e number of entries per person, how far is the mashups allowed to go, editing the original file etc etc personally, if I may, I would bullet point the rules, so they are very clear, rather than have them in the body of the text ..... Xxxx

2024-12-03 17:45:03 +0000 UTCPersonally, I think the contest would need to having tighter rules if you were looking for a Chaos Marine specific contest. A lot of this contest's entries ended up being super creative mash-ups, or Chaos Marines anyway. Knowing how creative the group is, I could see someone altering a Chaos helmet into looking like a Loyalist helmet. I am in favor of keeping the community voting, personally - but wouldn't be opposed to expanding to the GA Team for different superlatives. In a way, community voting gives creative entries a chance against those who have high end printers and/or are propfessional prop makers who bang out 1:1 screen accurate helmets.

But sadly because of cold weather and not having a heated workshop I won't be able to paint again till spring, so I'll probably have to sit this next one out. But here's to hoping for another helmet contest in the spring! Maybe Halo themed?

2024-12-03 17:26:12 +0000 UTCI don’t think the google drive voting system works well. The randomization of picks and with 300 submissions isn’t fair in aspect. I think it should just be the galactic armory crew & maybe even families. But leaving it to the community to personally look at 300 helmets is kinda iffy. (I’m not a sore loser but something I’ve noticed, I couldn’t find my own submission in under 5 minutes)

2024-12-03 17:18:52 +0000 UTCAs much as I would like to do another Chaos marine, I feel like there needs to be tighter limits on mashups, as some of the helmets I felt were no longer really recognizable as Warhammer. But that's just my opinion.
