Added 2024-10-25 14:48:49 +0000 UTCMany of you have asked for it and it's finally finished! The largest set of armor we've made and our next large cosplay: the Primaris Space Marine Armor!
I initially didn't want to make this set due to the simple fact that you shouldn't fully 3D print an 8' tall armor set. It would be hazardous to wear, heavy, and you'd be very prone to injury in it. However, I knew we could do it responsibly and ethically if we tried something new: foam templates!
In a first for Galactic Armory we've included Pepakura Designer foam templates for all the large armor parts! There's already a huge wealth of tutorials on YouTube for foam cosplaying but we'll also be making our own set of this armor and making tutorials for you all along the way! Please note - the templates are halved since you can simply flip over the paper templates to get the opposite side.
Now as for the files themselves I've included 2 default scales: Astartes and Human. Astartes being the life sized 8+ feet tall monsters while the Human scale is for someone about 6' tall. Foam templates are included for both! The highly detailed patterns across the armor have been pre-separated to use in conjunction with a foam base. All files have also been pre-cut for smaller printers.
Lastly, we've included 2 different sets of chest insignia: Ultramarines and Generic Primaris. If you have any other chapter markings you'd like us to include be sure to recommend them in the comments and we could add them for future improvements! I expect this armor set to go through a few changes as we personally tackle this project ourselves and implement useful changes we envision along the way. That's one thing I think sets Galactic Armory apart from a lot of other designers - we actually make a lot of the costumes we design!
As these files age out of the monthly rewards at the end of November they will only be available for annual Patreon subs. I'm keeping the Space Marine helmets in the rewards an extra month for the contest but at the end of November those will also only be available for annual members!

I have started to print out the 6ft sized armour of this, but i have to say your sizing is well off their is no way that this will fit a 6ft person its massive the parts are around %25 to large in my opinion, and the walls are way to thick on the models which adds a huge amount of filament use and weight to the parts i am printing these at %10 infill and that is still to much, I would add pictures to show what I mean but I cant on patreon, sadly I do find issues with most of the armour sets you make they are not correctly scaled for a average sized person.

If you do go down this route, some of the pieces will need modifying. The finger armour is way too big to be practical and you will need to add a 'mini' pauldron to the inside of the main pauldron, so it sits on your shoulder. However, I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge.
