Strongest in DxD - Chapter 24

"Sacred energy, lots of sacred energy," Grayfia said causing everyone to widen their eyes.

Everyone backed away as they helped Grayfia to his feet and couldn't understand what was happening.

"The Angels attacked?" asked Falbium to everyone.

While everyone started trying to understand what was going on Ajuka remained silent.

Ajuka couldn't believe the Angels had attacked, of course the relationship between the two factions had been pretty bad over time, especially after the Angel Faction found out that Ajuka's brother Diodora Astaroth was seducing nuns and was eventually killed by an exorcist while trying to seduce a holy maiden.

The Demon Faction hadn't been satisfied with this, however due to Ajuka's interference they didn't do anything as they didn't want to risk a new war.

And now the Angels were attacking for revenge perhaps?

This story was very poorly told.

And also even if it was a trap Sirzechs wouldn't fall so easily, not even Michael would be able to defeat Sirzechs in his [Aura of Destruction in Human Form], and even if it was a trap a battle of this magnitude would not go unnoticed.

And Sirzechs is not a novice fighter. He is 'The Lucifer'. He won this title after defeating the descendants of the original Satans. He wouldn't fall for something cheap like an Angels trap, and not like this.

This was really badly told.

"Enough!" shouted Ajuka letting her mask of calm disappear and unleash her demonic power that made the entire Gremory castle momentarily tremble.

Everyone's discussion ended in the face of Ajuka's power and scream.

"I know I was angry, but let's not jump to conclusions, this story is very poorly told," said Ajuka causing everyone to shut up.

But before any words could be said, a demon entered the hall, drawing everyone's attention.

"Beelzebub-sama, Leviathan-sama, Asmodeus-sama" shouted the demon entering.

"Can't you see we're busy," Falbium said causing the Devil to shiver.

"But it's urgent," he said.

"What there was?" asked Ajuka as everyone calmed down.

"There are Angels attacking the underworld" said the devil.

All the demons in the room widened their eyes because they didn't understand anything.

In another part of the underworld, chaos was happening all over the place.

Chaos and destruction engulfed the entire underworld as massive explosions fell across all regions, and those responsible for such attacks were in the sky.

Hundreds of spears of light fell from the sky, falling like a shower of flaming meteors, more than enough to kill them a dozen times, all of them aimed toward the Underworld.

These were spears made from the light itself. Its heat was such that it could burn the flesh of demons and humans with the greatest of ease. One alone had enough strength to pierce a wall. One hundred was enough to bring down a Stronghold.

In the sky, where this light originated, it was possible to see two pure white beings that glowed with their light amidst the darkness and twelve pure white wings protruding from their backs.

They raised their hands as they created an infinity of spears of light.

They dimmed the light of the distant suns and took their rightful place as the true stars of the night. They glowed in its darkness, hundreds and hundreds of glittering gems on a black background. From horizon to horizon they stretched out, filling the entire sky, a painting of twinkling lights with the sky itself as a canvas.

A thousand and more spears made from the light hovered over the skies of the Underworld So bright that they lit the world below them with their light.

The beings who created such attacks were the Angels created by Ren.

They weren't attacking the demons directly as it would be a waste of time.

They will attack your enemy from afar, they will rain down death and destruction, and they will burn the land itself if they need to overthrow your enemy.

This was the most basic attack for all Angels, Fallen or not. A tried and true method that has never been replaced or abandoned since it was created at the beginning of time. That's because it worked, oppressing enemies by pouring out destruction from Heaven until nothing but ruin was left behind.

To any of the Underworld citizens who had looked up at the sky that night, they would have seen the stars themselves falling from the sky itself.

They were like shooting stars, those spears of light, descending from heaven to earth. More numerous than raindrops, more captivating than any flame, and far deadlier.

It was the weapon that Heaven sends to those who dare to challenge it. With a hundred of his angels, he brought down the Tower of Babel in a single wave. Now, once more, he fell to the earth, this time by ten times that number, and it was as if a waterfall of white light had fallen from the gates of heaven.

It was a force so powerful that not even the strength of the mountains themselves could support its weight.

They fell from the sky, ripping the air in their path and raining down on their enemy with so much power that those hit died.

The demons tried to get closer and counter the light attack with their demonic power.

But it was in vain...

Faced with the light of an Angel, the sacred and consecrated power of a creature of light like an Angel, the spears destroy the power of the demons and tear their skin destroying their bodies of existence by the immense sacred and holy power.

The Angels prepare to release their power again but they stopped when they felt an immense amount of energy approaching them.

As they turn to the origin, the Angels created by Ren come face to face with just three of the four Maou.

Ajuka, Serafall and Falbium had their twelve wings extended in the air as they floated ahead of the Angels created by Ren.

"Why are they attacking us?" asked Ajuka as her demonic power unleashed and made everything tremble.

Both Serafall and Falbium who was further back also unleashed their powers.

Ajuka's aura was green and several formulas and equations could be seen around her as she manifested.

This was due to Ajuka's demonic power being specialized in formulas and calculations. Her demonic power is so unique that, among all demons, only Ajuka's demonic power is specialized in creation.

Serafall's aura was an ice blue hue as the temperature around her dropped rapidly causing ice and snow to begin to form.

Falbium's was a shade of orange that represented hers [Absolute Defense].

This was an ability that Falbium Asmodeus was born with. It can, as the name suggests, "block all attacks". Falbium's body is constantly enveloped in his aura. When in battle, the aura intensifies and becomes visible with an orange color. Destroying this aura is impossible even for beings superior to high-class demons. The light of the Angels, against which demons are often weak, cannot move Falbium's aura one bit.
