The Latter-Day Saint semiannual general conference spring session is from Sat. April 1-2. Chad case (Mon. April 3rd) is the day after so far. What is the likelihood that the top officials will say something about those that have lost their way in their faith and gone way extreme in their beliefs?

I would be very interested in Dr John's thoughts on WSU Kim who called into the Drunk Turkey show then some others. They verified some of the info she shared. Got her phone records proving smshe called the FBI the day of or after the Moscow Murders. I have my opinion, I believe she BELIEVES what she is saying is the true and she is doing it bc she us scared for her children at WSU. But not sure what the truth is in her story. I always remember the saying There are 3 sides to every story, yours, theirs and the truth.

Well, that negativity ship has already sailed. Decades ago. Mormons identify as a people singled out for ridicule. Research from the Pew Forum on Religion and American Life, which provides the best and most extensive (public) data on contemporary attitudes about Mormonism and among Mormons, indicates that a majority of Mormons do indeed feel disliked and especially ostracized in American society. I don't understand why you believe the church would be pushing Prior to say he needs more time. After Mark Means filed a motion claiming Lori was being manipulated by IDHW workers, Prior requested an evidentiary hearing into the issue and requested a special prosecutor who is not affiliated with the case or a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. https://www.eastidahonews.com/2021/11/chad-daybells-attorney-wants-a-non-lds-special-prosecutor-following-alleged-idhw-incident-with-lori-daybell/

I really dislike John Prior. For him to take issue that word is laughable. 90+% of what Attorneys do is strategize? I believe the LDS lawyers are the ones pushing him to constantly say they need more time. TSCC doesn’t want ANY negativity associated with their cult pretending to be a non-profit “church”.

The more content the better. It is great to find ethical true crime. The more the better.

We have over four hours of recorded phone calls between Nathan and David, so yes! They definitely knew each other. We are definitely doing a BTK series too! So glad you are looking forward to that!

Lauren and John Matthias

Yes to BTK

Sue Komernicky

Yes to BTK! Speaking of Barsotti, has anyone confirmed Nathan really knew David? Is he someone who inserted himself seeing how hurt the family was and how skeptical they were of law enforcement…. I just can’t believe him. Love you guys and seriously this is so good for everyone, to learn about themselves, their trauma and others. You’ve helped me understand so much and it helps me grow. Thank you!

Rebekah Potter

Yes, thank you for asking, but it’s one reason we didn’t go live. We didn’t have child care and we a son who stayed up too late.

Lauren and John Matthias

Thanks Erica. You’re so right❣️

I wonder if Kohberger was aware of the Leopold and Loeb case. The killers, Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, were wealthy and intelligent teenagers whose sole motive for killing the victim was the desire to commit the “perfect crime.” They committed the murder – characterized at the time as "the crime of the century" – hoping to demonstrate superior intellect (Leopold had an IQ of 200) which they believed enabled and entitled them to carry out a "perfect crime" without consequences.

If your Christian friends ridicule your empathetic nature, well...they are CINOs. In my experience many people who claim to be Christians actually know nothing about its tenets. Some of the main themes that Jesus taught, which Christians do not embrace: Love your neighbor as yourself. Forgive others who have wronged you. Love your enemies. Don’t be hypocritical. Don’t judge others.

John Prior, Chad’s attorney, expressed support for the meetings but took issue with the word “strategizing.” “I’m not going to strategize with anybody. I’m going to present our defense in this case,” Prior said. “The process is going to be trial prep. There’s going to be no strategizing. This is trial prep.”

Erica A. Zwick

"Yes, please," to BTK coverage. For me, the 2 most interesting things about him was his dead pan explanation of his crimes in court, and the fact that he had a daughter who perceived him as a good and normal Dad... (Interesting may not be the word I want to use; I don't look at true crime as entertainment, but more so as gathering information about what some human beings out there are capable of and (particularly as a teacher) what makes them that way.)

Listening to Dr John about empathy. Here’s the dichotomy: the term “bleeding heart”. It was used by my Christian friends in a negative way ie. “Bleeding heart liberal”. Christians are commanded to have empathy for others, it makes no sense to me to ridicule a person’s empathetic nature. It is such a normalized derogatory term. Now my response to the criticism is “thank you”. Remember when people used to love (maybe still do?) Dr. Laura? She totally lacked empathy! There are so many influencers and politicians who are lauded for there toughness but lack empathy for others. Thanks for bringing empathy and kindness back, Lauren and Dr John❤️
