BREAKING: Tammy Daybell’s original death certificate

Comments

We’ll that didn’t age well.

Shirlyn Gioe

Considering no autopsy was performed this is just a wild guess!

Lisa Spears

Tammy was not examined by an ME. Had the coroner, Brenda Dye, ordered an autopsy, that autopsy would have been conducted by a trained medical examiner rather than Dye. Where does it say that Chad told anyone that Tammy died of a pulmonary edema?

Erica A. Zwick

Pulmonary edema is usually caused by a heart condition. Other causes include pneumonia, exposure to certain toxins and drugs, and being at high elevations. Certain toxins and drugs??

Erica A. Zwick

Best guess? I'd say "wild guess." The coroner has a high school education and works as an advanced emergency medical technician at Fremont County EMS.

Erica A. Zwick

So sad… and so wrong for this innocent woman to die by the hands of others. 💔

Jane Griffith

Correct. They've managed to keep that under lock and key.

She never had an autopsy until she was exhumed. This is the original death certificate before she was exhumed and forensically examined.

The whole business makes me mad and angry

Elizabeth Campbell

So a young woman with no underlying conditions dies of a heart attack and that is considered a natural death? Were they able to determine if she had high cholesterol or what her medical records say about her re: her last visit to her doctor?

Nora Ann

So this is before the second autopsy?

Eva Roberts

Cardiac event? Don’t all of us die from a cardiac event, as in : our heart stops beating?

Lee Howell

I would say that without an autopsy her cause of death was based on a best guess. When I worked in long term care they listed every diagnosis a person had as their cause of death in a book that tracked the numbers. You would see hypertension, hyperlipedemia, pneumonia, CVA, and anything else listed in their chart as a cause of their death. I don’t think Tammy had a laundry list of diagnosis, thus the best guess. So senseless. On a side note, this Tamara shares the same birth month as her. I never knew her but it makes me feel extra emotional about Tammy.

Also, I'm surprised they could transport Tammy's body across state lines AND BURY IT without a completed AND REGISTERED Death Certificate, but -- Idaho law (at least) says what you need to transfer a body out of state is a "permit for final disposition signed by the individual authorized by law to certify the cause of death." A permit. Not a death cert. And maybe that makes sense b/c death certificates can sometimes take awhile to be filed AND registered, even in fairly routine cases.

What I want to know is how Chad sold the house to John Prior in December of 2020. Here's the deal. IF you don't have a Will in Idaho, and you're married, and your spouse dies, you by default get the house. But Tammy had a will. And that will didn't even ENTER probate until March 2021. It was finalized in April 2021. So. How did the title to Chad's house transfer to John Prior if Tammy was dead, with a will, and the will wasn't even in probate yet? Maybe you can assume ownership of a house in Idaho even when there's a cloud on the title, if you pay cash? Hm.

Absolutely! There should definitely be a movement away from the old coroner system. No telling how many people have gotten away with murder in this manner.

And Joe! Really interesting how everyone died of the same ambiguous cardiac "event."

Tara

Yes, the case out of Florida, right? I didn’t know about the one in North Carolina. I’ll have to look that up. 😉

Katie Marlowe

It’s basic tetrahydroxoline poisoning (the stuff that “gets the red out”.

Dede B

“Eye Drop Murders” on 48 Hours, case of nurse almost getting away with murdering her husband, she used a full bottle of Visine. First autopsy said basic heart failure, but nephew/cop suspicious and another one done. A couple of months later there was a copy cat murder in N. Carolina, first deemed heart attack. The coroner mentioned there was no telling how many murders had been done and not caught.

Dede B

I’m surprised that cardiac event can be listed as COD when no autopsy was completed. I hope this case will promote change in the coroner’s office. Sad.

Heather Carter

If this is the death certificate the State is using as "evidence", no wonder Chad is not looking for a plea deal!

Chiara

How deeply sad.

RobynB

Should say cause of death. Husband needed money and a new wife!

Fun2 Cruz

Interesting… yes, there has to be an updated version that states manner of death as homicide.

Brenda Edwards

Manner of Death says “Natural”… I think it’s #31 on the document.

CuriousinColorado

Cause listed as cardiac arrest with pulmonary edema. You know, the sort of death caused by antifreeze . . .

Roberta S Treacy

That ME needs to be fired. "The husband said his wife died of a pulmonary edema, so let's put that down for the state records!" What a joke.

Stephanie Stewart

I don’t see manner of death here. Does anyone else see it?

Brenda Edwards

The Cause is “Cardiac Event”. Additionally “Pulmonary Edema”.

Brenda Edwards

Didn't Eldin also die of a pulmonary edema as well? The FBI should be all over this aspect of Alex, Tammy and Eldin-it is not just a coincidence. It does not seem common enough-especially for 40 somethings.

Jennifer Priebe

Edited to add “original”. Sorry for any confusion. Yes, the first death certificate

Lauren and John Matthias

How do they determine this cause without any exam? I don't understand how they came to this cause. We need some help with this!!

Kim Chapman

This appears to be the first/original death certificate. Manner of death is marked "natural". There should be an updated one after the exhumation - probably still sealed.

Jana Rodgers

So it’s ruled a natural death. With it being a Cardiac event with pulmonary edema but no autopsy. So this is her original death certificate We don’t yet have the results from the autopsy they performed after exhuming her, right?

Nicole

I’m having a hard time reading the causes of death. I see cardiac event and pulmonary ______. My thoughts are with Tammy’s loved ones.

Amy N.

yes, thank you. Wow.

Jennifer Thornhill

another pulmonary edema case? hmm

Kim

thank you!

Kim
