FULL TIM BALLARD CIVIL LAWSUIT

This is a heavy read. Trigger warning: Sexual grooming, spiritual grooming. Sexual abuse.

We know this is a sensitive topic for many. We have thoughts and will discuss later, so please let us know what questions and comments you have.

There are similarities to the Daybell case. Tim Ballard uses the same pick up line with the women listed in this document--that he was married to the victim/victims in a past life.

For those who haven't seen our thread connecting Tim Ballard to Chad Daybell, as well as Jodi Hildebrandt, you can see that by clicking this link: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1692902609303028104.html

Hi all, just read through the document and noticed that exhibit B is missing - it seems like exhibit A is listed twice. I'm just wondering if you've seen exhibit B anywhere - is this a court glitch or maybe just this copy? Thanks!

This is major, thank u for sharing and covering ALL of this

I wish we knew what his former HSI colleagues have to say about him and if there’s any records on file (internal investigations/insubordination issues/etc.) I can’t see him being easy to work with due to his inflated ego.

Edie Miller

Yes! So well said! I have an ex from years ago who used spiritual manipulation to control/abuse me, and this fear mongering endtimes stuff! He hoarded end times supplies and told me I was too weak to live on my own I couldn't leave him because the world was about to end etc. I have experienced this exact form of manipulation/brainwashing/abuse first hand. I agree this needs to be discussed!

north wildlings

You said it way better than I did! Exactly!

north wildlings

Agreed. Its easy to abuse and take advantage people who have been brainwashed to believe outrageous stories with zero evidence. It's easy to gain followers, supporters, cults from people who have been trained NOT to think critically. Targeting religious people is easy for predators because they have been trained to obey leaders and never think for themselves. Predators understand the power they can easily gain by using religious peoples superstitious and beliefs against them as coercive psychological control mechanism that the victims don't see, because they've been groomed since childhood to believe nonsense and follow leaders.

Lauren, thank you for your thoroughness. I really enjoy following your coverage. Tim is a mega sicko. What is described in the complaints seems like a physical, mental and spiritual molestation. An inside and out assault on the women from every direction. Coercion is so disgusting and harmful.

BTW non-profit tax returns are public record and can be requested.

Elizabeth Gearhart

Very interesting. Mormon Stories did a YouTube video on TB and had pictures of his henna tattoos. One is just above the pubic area where he is holding down his underwear so it could be seen. Unless he is getting undressed more than what he was saying, then no one would ever see that alleged tattoo. I wonder about the tax implications with a non-profit and money being funneled out. That may be it's own rabbit hole.

I can’t help but think that there is some underlying connection between Jodi, Daybell, Tim, and the LDS church After listening to Lynn Packer (Packer has been calling Tim out for years!) and reading this document, I find myself wondering if the idea of visions, previous wives etc. are rampant in the upper echelons of the LDS church. I think there are some dirty secrets up top. I used to think these were rouge members going off track. I’m really starting to think there is the mainstream church and another very different level. AND they could be more connected than we realize. How’s that for a conspiracy theory? 😂

Amanda Boshard

Love this comment. Your thoughts and questions. We will discuss it

Lauren, once again your research is amazing! Referring to the connections with Lori, Chad and Jodi. It feels like a very deep wound that is being exposed. Keep on going with this, it's great work.

I would love to hear Dr. John do an episode, perhaps, on another kind of grooming, that I see, taking place in all of these connected stories. It really came into my head during the Braxton interview. It is this: all of the leaders and speakers and visionary leaders in these end time times groups seem to be grooming any listener to believe and potentially view anyone in need, or less prepared, or hungry, or asking for help, during bad times as immediately transforming into a sort of subhuman vicious marauding predator that is after their last can of peaches instead of a fellow human, being child of God, brother or sister. All of these end times visions, which are so terrifying, are infused with this idea that anyone that isn’t in their little group is somehow almost demonic, and that is really what they are preparing for. Braxton couldn’t wait to start shooting at these evil people who may simply be somebody hungry, who wasn’t quite as prepared. (I loved it that Lauren pushed back on this) For me, this is another kind of grooming that can become so dangerous and in fact it is what all tyrants have used to make it possible for their followers to more easily do unspeakable things to their “enemies “. I’d love to see a whole podcast on how deliberate and calculating this seems to be in all of these conferences using fear to urge people to prepare not just with food, but with guns and other weapons. I may be using the term grooming wrong here, but that’s what it feels like to me. Is there any chance of a discussion on this that links Ballard and Daybell and Stroud and all of the Visions of Glory crowd ?

Also, his lies about the CIA etc remind me of David Barsotti a little

You’re not a bitch… I call myself a recovering Roman Catholic.

Kathleen Liakos

I'm having a hard time not seeing a correlation between the church and these situations. Throw in the "Abducted in Plain Sight" and I think we are looking at a religion that opens a lot of doors to manipulation and coercisive control.

Maura G

Thanks for posting this. I will have to steel myself to read the doc. I have been listening to Lynn Packer’s YouTube videos on the whole Ballard mess. I was telling my husband that I am of two minds about Ballard’s victims. On one hand, I grieve for them; on the other, I think, Ladies, where were your critical thinking skills? I suppose that is where the the cultish aspects of religion come in. These women were raised under a patriarchal religion that emphasized male discernment to the exclusion of their own. (I’m not bashing the LDS faith here. I was raised a Roman Catholic, a faith with its own brand of toxicity.) Ballard is an ultra right wing snake oil salesman. I am mystified by the support he has. And by the appeal of his creepily high pitched voice. There’s me being a bitch!

Kate FitzGerald

This man is dangerous and a predator. Scary!
