Project Roadmap

Hey everyone,
This is going to be a bit of a long post, so thanks in advance for reading. Or if you don’t hopefully you at least take a glance at some of the highlights. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyhow, about a week ago I promised I would post a “roadmap” to better outline everything I’m working on right now. I wanted to do this for a few reasons:
- I want to make sure I’m accountable for providing great content for all my Patrons, and…
- I want all my Patrons to know what to expect.
- There’s a fair amount of work that I’ve been doing behind the scenes that no one knows about, so this is the beginning of my attempt to make it more visible.
So, what is the chart showing anyway? It’s a rough timeline of all the stuff I’m working on concurrently and how projects may overlap. I found it easiest to divide it all into three major pillars: Illustration, Animation, and Writing. I think it’s fairly intuitive, but here’s some additional detail if you like.
- Illustration
- This refers to the illustrations I produce on a roughly semi-monthly schedule. I’d like to see that pace increase a bit, and involve my Patrons a bit more at the same time. So I’ll be reinstating polls, and each time around I’d like to try to get my ideas together sooner so by the time I finish one I’m ready to get a jump on the next one.
- I mentioned Discord here but this is something that would apply to every project, I just put it at the top since I consider it a priority and wanted to be sure it got some attention.
- Animation
- Nomu VS. is finished, and published everywhere that I planned.
- I’m still considering producing a version of this with sound, because it would be good practice and I intend to include sound for my future projects. Might as well start now, and I expect it will be easier to add it to an otherwise complete project instead of a brand new one.
- 2B and Pod is what I’m focusing most of my effort on right now. Animations for this project are about 75% done and I’m looking for some better ways to provide previews than the janky-ass gifs that DragonBones (my animation program) export.
- Around the finalization of the 2B project, I’m hoping to hit my next Patreon goal and spend some money to upgrade my animation package to Spine or Live2D. Depending on my funding level I may do this anyway because I’d really like to make better stuff for everyone!
- At the same time, I’ve been working on my C# coding skills to use in Unity. If you didn’t realize it, Nomu VS. and the 2B project run on Unity, and I really want to extend the interactivity of future projects beyond simple flash-style animation players. You can see at the right side that I’m hoping all of this coalesces into the ability to start making simple H-Games. (And beyond that, I’d love to kick off something more involved, but right now I don’t have the resources for it).
- Writing
- Most of my new Patrons probably have no idea this even exists, but one of my first projects funded by Patreon was (is) an erotic fantasy story, Daughter of Demons. At first it started as just fun practice for writing D&D campaigns, but the world and characters took on a larger life and I wanted to put more into it. It’s been a while since I published anything related to it, but you can see by the chart that this does not mean I stopped working on it.
- I’ve fully written about twice as much content than what’s available publicly, so I’d like to get back into publishing this stuff so people can actually read it.
- My drafts go even further, since I’m constantly coming up with new ideas that I want to explore.
- I’d like to look for a more robust platform to host this story but for now it’s on Hentai-Foundry here: https://www.hentai-foundry.com/stories/user/FlannaganTheRed/14894/Daughter-of-Demons
- Depending on how everything else goes, I’d love to turn this into a visual novel or a more fully-featured adult game!
I think that about does it. Hopefully this gives you all a better idea of what I’m working on and where it’s all going. I’d love to hear your thoughts so feel free to comment or message me.
‘Till next time.
