Daughter of Demons - Chapter 2 - The First Nightmare

As I drifted off to sleep, I saw a vision of the moon, beaming down on the altar I was laying on. My attendants were there, standing next to me, but they were stony and motionless, frozen in time. Around me I could hear the shifting and cracking of stone, as small holes appeared in the masonry of the temple. Thick, slimy vines began to push their way through the cracks. Jet black and gleaming in the moonlight, they undulated unnaturally as they wove their way towards me. It was just a few at first, but their numbers quickly multiplied as more of them broke their way into my chamber. I had nowhere to go, and as they grabbed at my feet, I huddled myself in defense in the middle of the altar. The moon seemed to be getting farther away, and its light slowly dimmed. I felt the whole room lurch and shake as the floor broke apart and crumbled away around me, revealing a seething pit of tentacles. The statues of my attendants remained, as did the altar, floating in mid-air. No, not floating, they were held up by these tangled, unholy tendrils, and they wormed their up around the altar. They snatched at my ankles and began to pull me off my little island of refuge. I desperately held on to the edge of the stonework, watching as they wrapped around the figures of my attendants, and crushed them into rubble. As they disintegrated, their words echoed around me, “Let yourself go. Just let go.” I wasn’t about to allow myself to be taken by this writhing abomination, and it became clear what it was after as more tentacles began to curl around my calves and slide their way upwards. Though I squeezed my thighs together as hard as I could, resistance seemed futile as my legs were forcefully pried apart. I watched in horror as a dripping, eager appendage prepared to plunge itself into me, and the rest of the village was demolished and collapsed into this sea of carnal madness. The screams of other falling into the abyss resonated in my head. I strained with all my might to hang on to the altar, and though it felt like my legs would be torn off, I couldn’t let myself go.
