Office Hours Q&A 206 | Thursday, June 12th, 10AM Pacific Time

Where to Start • Lesson Archive • Recommended Lesson PlanBook a Private Lesson

Hi Everyone,

You missed this one, but you can always catch the next one, usually on Thursdays at 10AM Pacific Time.

Here are the questions:

Question 1: Erin asked ear training with intervals, the most important scale to learn, and what to expect from the process of learning to improvise.

Question 2: Isai was wondering about open voicings of triads - what are they and how to play them

Question 3: Scott asked how to figure out the name of the chord if we don't know the root note, but we do know the shape

Here's how it works: bring your questions to the comments below, the Office Hours community forum thread, save them for the live chat*, OR request a zoom link the comments below! Questions can be about anything you want - guitar technique, music theory, gear, songwriting - your choice! Also, feel free to link a video of you playing if you have a technique question!

I'll do my best to answer your questions and give examples of how you develop skills related to your question.

Keep in mind, you can always watch later if you can't make it live! Check back a few hours after the stream for a numbered list of each question and a timestamped link to each answer.

*Please note: you may need a youtube/gmail account to ask questions in the live stream, but you can watch without one.

¡¡ NEW !! You can also ask a question face to face by requesting a zoom link!

Working on it

Logic and Garageband allow for a lot more tracks, and you can mix as you go. Highly recommend my Garageband course. If you're on a Windows computer, check out Reaper as a good first DAW

The mpc beats program im using only allows for two outside audio tracks is that standard or does logic allow for more?
