Y2K

happy monday everyone!!! i hope you had a really fun (and scary!?!?) weekend!! 😄 we stayed in, ordered a pizza, and watched some scary movies!! it was lots of fun~

for this weeks post, we're traveling back to an era close to my heart for some Y2K inspired Stone Ocean fanart!!

the process for this one is a bit of a blur because i actually finished it some time last week so bear with me LOL

this is the rough i came up with!! it's not as clean as my roughs usually are because i knew a lot of the background design elements would be added when i was actually working on the final, so i focused more on color. 

here's the cleaned up sketch!! i decided to make the SO gang little chibi...things because it felt like it'd fit better than having them be normal. i can't find it now, but i remember seeing a magazine page from the 00s that had a photo of a model, and then a little mascot version and i thought that was so fun!! i think it adds a fun little flair :) plus they look kind of cute... 

originally i was going to design EVERYONE a new outfit (back before they became Tiny), but tbh, i'm just not very good at designing clothes and i'm kind of on a schedule LOL maybe another time!!

a fun little detail i'd like to point out is the Stone Free in the background

i actually imported a Stone Free model into blender, rendered the model with a wire frame using freestyle lines, and exported the transparent version so i could stick it in the background somewhere. i thought it'd fit the FuTuRiSm feel of the piece and i really like it LOL

it was a lot of work for something in the BG, especially because my knowledge of blender is super limited, but it was also really fun!?!?! more blender shenanigans in the future maybe!?!?! (in the far far far future)

i think that about wraps up every thing i wanted to talk about!! i had a lot of fun working on this pic and i'm glad it worked out bc i could NOT get that last pic to LMFAOOO
