Videos for September 25th - 30th

We've got a couple of videos coming up this week:

26th: Dell G16 Review
29th: Monthly Q&A

The YouTube community post going up asking for questions for the monthly Q&A is scheduled 24 hours or so before the Dell G16 review goes live, but you can get yours in through Discord in the #questions-for-qna-only channel.

I think this is the first time we've done a Q&A a month after the last one, the idea was that they could be a monthly thing. Personally, I'm not convinced there are enough interesting questions out there to have that much content, so this is a bit of a test to see.

Basically I don't want to end up just pumping them out monthly because monthly. If the videos don't do well, then I'll probably go back to just doing Q&As every now and then instead of monthly.

Initially I thought a Q&A would help out with the video schedule. We've been doing 2 videos per week for ages (down from 3 a year or two ago), but in the last month we've had a couple of 1 video weeks, and honestly it hasn't changed anything in terms of the stats.

Q&A videos are easier to produce so mean I don't have to work as hard throughout the month to have "enough" videos. But what I'm trying to say is that's completely arbitrary, so ultimately if Q&A videos don't turn out interesting enough I'll just do them way less frequently and just have times where we only have 1 video.

There are a couple of reasons for this. The first is there just isn't a whole lot of new stuff at the moment to make content about, some of the ideas for videos I had felt less interesting or forced just to hit my arbitrary quota. Secondly, it's been good to work less the last few weeks and take a bit of a break, it's probably better long term to take advantage of the gap.

October/November are going to be busy with all the end of year round up content. December will probably be fairly quiet, then things will ramp up in January with CES.

As for what we're working on this week, 13700H vs 7840HS testing is starting today with the two Legion Slim 5 laptops that I bought, but the video will be about 2 weeks away.

I'm also hoping to wrap up some desktop GPU testing for the giant comparison next month that I've been teasing for a while. I think it will be close to 35 GPUs, but haven't counted in a while. I'm debating if I add some more, but kind of hard to justify when each one takes a full day to get through and ultimately it'll likely be one bar on a graph that doesn't even get a mention.
