Felix is finishing up sculpting some awesome Grotlings that will be available to our Patrons very soon, and he needs your wise advice.
He is sculpting them in rows (instead of single models) so that the little Grotlings can interact with each other in dynamic and funny poses, which adds more character to the set and fits very well with their extremely crazy nature.
Then, the idea is to combine these Grotling rows in pairs to create many different bases of Grotlings.
Felix has sculpted 4 rows (12 possible Grotling bases), he'll probably do 5 finally (20 possible bases).
How many rows would you, Legendary Makers think is best to create a good swarm of Grotlings?
While he was sculpting them, he was playing with the idea that these little Grotlings have stolen their weapons from the Goblins, and he thought it was a very good idea. But although they look awesome and funny, he's not sure if these weapons are too much for the little fellas.
Do you think the weapons are maybe too sophisticated for the Grotlings... specifically the ball and chain, and perhaps some axes?

2023-10-27 00:54:00 +0000 UTCUsamos la Grey de Formlabs, pero esta es exclusiva de las impresoras Formlabs. Hay muchas resinas que dejan un acabado muy chulo por eso, si preguntas en nuestro Discord allí dominan mucho de resinas para imprimir en 3D y te contestarán mucho mejor que yo (que solo uso la Formlabs Form3).

2023-09-12 16:52:56 +0000 UTCA mi me parecería gracioso un grupo de Grotlings imitando a sus primos mayores, los orcos de hierro, con armaduras improvisadas con cubos de fregar en vez de cascos, sartenes como escudos y toneles de licor como armaduras. Sería sublime

Maybe some individuals for diaramas. From the rules (6th ed?) they are accompanied by other creatures that inhabit the Drops. But you have made me happy.

2023-09-02 06:17:58 +0000 UTCThe sculpts look excellent and I think the idea of having different rows that can be combined is great. Personally I'd rather see them without the weapons. But it's always easier to cut off a weapon than it is to add a new one, so I don't mind them being there.

2023-09-01 07:23:11 +0000 UTCI think if they have stolen weapons (and it should only be a few) they should definitely be wielding them incorrectly. Spears with the blunt end out, maybe two flails wrapped up like headphones in a pocket.

2023-08-31 22:03:15 +0000 UTCI think five rows would be a good amount to make a variety of swarms that don't look too doubled up. As far as weapons go, I second what other people have said, with only a couple of real weapons, and mostly improvised weapons like broken bottles, bones, branches, and broken spear tips or knives. I'd also really like to see at least some of them as individual models, so we could put them on their own bases or use them to decorate larger scenes.
