How’s June treating you all so far? Ushka and I have been busy working on the cat rescue donation project for Neko Neko Post. Thank you so so much to everyone who has purchased our postcards! So far we’ve raised 57,263 yen to donate to Dante and Kawakuji Rescue! I’ll continue to mention them in videos and on Instagram so hopefully we are able to continue selling a few more.

Both of the rescues we’re raising funds for saw our Instagram posts and reached out to us to thank us, thought that was sweet! Had a bit of a fangirl moment talking to Dante, I’ve been a huge fan of his rescue work for a while now (@dante_kaigetsu on Instagram). He does post some pretty graphic photos and stories on his page, but it's a reminder of how much hard work is being put into saving these cats ( and not to mention how sad and upsetting it must be, I can't imagine). 

I asked him if he’d be up for working with me in the future on a video to show what a day in his life is like, and he seemed excited about the idea! Unfortunately he’s way down in Okinawa (opposite end of the country to me) but I’d definitely make a trip over to him when it’s safe to visit, would be cool to get word of his rescue efforts out there and hopefully encourage more people to support him.

Also received an email from Djamila Knopf, an amazing German artist (@djamilaknopf) who said she’d like to donate a piece of her art to be used in a future Neko Neko Post collaboration for cat rescue support! How kind is that! Obviously we said heck yes and we’re already designing the postcards with help from Erica Ward (@erica.ward.illustration) who will format part of the illustration for the back of the postcard for us. We'll be ordering them from the same printer in Kyoto that we usually use and they're pretty quick, so they should be ready this month. 100% of profits from this collaboration will go towards the cat rescues so we should be able to raise a decent amount🙏🏻💞

In video news: Norm and I are busy planning our camping trip, we’ve set a date but of course it’s now looking like a rainstorm will hit that week so we maaaay need to postpone. We’ve actually found a few camping car companies who want to collaborate and are offering us a camping car to use for the trip! Not sure which one we’re going to go with, I’m leaving that up to Norm so it’ll be a surprise for me too. That’s pretty exciting, I haven’t used a camping car since I was a kid going on camping trips with my grandparents! That was more of an RV I guess, but I’m sure these will be just as fun :D Still no luck with the graham cracker situation, I’m going to check a few import food shops today😂

As for the photos, I was down in Tottori Prefecture helping TC out with a project this week! I’ve been to Tottori before but never to the sand dunes! Lived out my Arrakis fantasy for a few hours until I got way too hot and had to leave hide under a sun umbrella. My Canadian body just wasn’t ready for a desert apparently😅
