Took this photo on my walk this morning! 🌸The weather was quite warm so I took a long walk around the city. The streets were almost empty today! I wondered what had happened because up until this week everything was quite busy- restaurants, gyms, shops were all business as usual. But when I went into the grocery store downtown I noticed that the shopping center had a post on the door saying it was shut until Mid-May! I noticed several shops around town with similar posts, basically anything that's non-essential, so all the grocery stores are still open regular hours. Iwate Prefecture where I live is actually the only area left in Japan with no confirmed cases, so I was wondering when people would start to take things more seriously up here. It's nice to see that they're implementing these closures before things get bad. 🙏
HUGE thank you to everyone for the birthday messages! 🍰Being home by myself certainly wasn't the ideal way to celebrate my birthday last Thursday but I received sooo many lovely messages from everyone and it actually turned into quite a nice day! I vlogged the day and I'll be editing it soon - probably have it up mid-week :)
