Little Delay.

The Legislative news that dropped today... well, to put it succinctly, we have several autistic family members who may be losing their aid and I have no goddamned idea what to do. So I was gonna let the chapter drop, but I want it to be a good chapter, and right now, I'm really not in a good headspace for writing.

I wouldn't panic. There are no cuts in Medicare in the bill. Those claiming there are are just trying to scare people. What happened is that, instead of increasing the budget next year by $BIGNUMBER, the Medicare budget will only increase next year by $SLIGHTLYLESSBIGNUMBER. I would normally refrain from responding to political things on these fanfic discussions, but I wanted to offer you what little comfort I could: your family should be fine. Nothing is going to be taken away from them. The money supporting them now will still be there next year, along with even more than there is this year.

2025-07-04 08:47:17 +0000 UTCYeah, this administration is rather brutal towards trans people, disabled people, and people that can’t work. My household and family consists of nothing but people that fit those three categories, so we’ve been having a really fun time. It’s also brutal to racial minorities, but thankfully that’s one thing we’re not dealing with.
