Okay I'm gonna need to mention this. Ron Maxwell, the modern day DW Griffith with quarter the talent... is probably my cousin. He was from the same part of New Jersey my grandmother is from and she was also named Maxwell. Also had a lot of kids but I won't go there. Christ I cannot believe I used to like Gods and Generals. Thank the lord I have the sharpshooter ancestor, who has a decent history. 17 year old kid who snuck into Minnesota from Canada, his family fought for the British in the revolution before fleeing. Joined the Second US Sharpshooters in 1861 despite not being 18. Fought from Seven Days to Cold Harbor. Was at the West Woods at Antietam and fought alongside the 1 Minnesota during there doomed charge on day 2 of Gettysburg. Got shot while moving prisoners at Cold Harbor, narrowing avoiding capture. Mustered out in 1865. Worked on the transcontinental railroad before founding a small Minnesota town and running it till he died in 1924. Yeah I prefer that over deadbeat director.
