📢 The War on Adult Content

Good afternoon, everyone.

Today, I bring some concerning news. If you haven't heard yet, Steam and Itch.io are under pressure to stop indexing adult games on their platforms.

While Steam still allows users to manually search for adult content, Itch.io has gone further, outright removing or shadow banning adult games without warning. This came as a shock to many developers, myself included.

Itch.io has issued a formal statement here:
🔗 Itch.io's update on NSFW content

Their response essentially boils down to:

> “It’s not our fault — we’re being forced.”
And honestly? That’s not entirely untrue.

Itch.io has long been a safe haven for adult game developers — a place where creativity and freedom could thrive. That era, unfortunately, appears to be coming to an end.

🧨 What’s Causing This?

The root of this issue lies with payment providers! The companies responsible for processing transactions on platforms like Steam, Itch, and Patreon.

These providers are being pressured by a coordinated campaign, led by a group that identifies itself as a Right-Wing Christian Women's organization, which proudly claims responsibility for pushing adult content out of these spaces.

Unfortunately, platforms rely on these payment providers not only to run their own businesses but also to pay developers — developers like me, who depend on your support to keep creating.

😟 Why I’m Concerned?

This is more than just an inconvenience. It’s a threat to creators, livelihoods, and creative freedom. If platforms like Patreon, which also depend on the same payment processors, follow suit, we could be facing a very uncertain future.

Please know:
If I am ever banned from Patreon, there is an alternative where you can continue supporting me. I won’t link it here to avoid unnecessary attention or harm, but it's ready and available if needed.

🛠 What’s Next?

I’ve already begun discussions with other developers, and we are actively exploring alternative platforms. Places where we can share our work safely and maintain creative control.

We’re not going anywhere. We’ll adapt. We always do.

But we need your awareness, your voice, and your support more than ever.

Thank you,
Stay Safe, Stay Healthy,
With all my love,
Fluffy
