“Why is she in my home and why can’t I read any of your minds?”Edward asked face full of anger as he stood from his seat at his piano and made his way to the group. Tanya rolled her eyes at the boy. He had already confronted them and not everyone had made it into the house yet. It was guaranteed that there would be a fight based on his quick reaction. Tanya didn’t know if it would turn physical though. She kind of hoped it did so she could punch Edward in the face. The boy deserved it for thinking he could use Bella to get a royal advisor position. Tanya, the rest of the Denali and the three Cullens who traveled with them wouldn’t let that happen of course. They would kill Edward before he got a chance to tell Aro anything about Bella. They likely would have to kill Edward in the future when he got it in his head that he could use Bella to overthrow the kings. Tanya wasn’t to worried about that. Edward wasn’t a threat to any of them now and he would need a lot of time to make his plans.

“Rosalie, Irina take Bella to her room. Eleazar, Carmen go with them. They will explain everything when you get up there.”Tanya could see the questions in the pair’s eyes but they followed her orders without saying anything.

“What do you mean Bella’s room? That human doesn’t live here.”Edward wouldn’t allow it.

“Bella is going to be staying here temporarily.”Tanya was going to speak to Bella and her mates about what they wanted to do in the future. She hoped they wanted to live in Alaska with the Denali.

“I didn’t say she could stay here. That means she has to leave.”Edward told her.

Kate laughed.”We don’t need your permission you idiot.”

“My word is law in this house and if I say she can’t stay here she can’t stay here.”Edward wouldn’t let the human even spend time on his property.

“Is that true Carlisle? Is Edward’s word law? Is he right in saying that Rosalie’s mate can’t stay here with Rosalie?”Tanya was curious what answer Carlisle would give to her questions.

Carlisle cleared his throat.”I am the coven leader. However Edward has a point. None of us agreed to let a human stay here. It’s not safe for the girl to live with vampires.”

“The girl is fine around vampires and if you all think you can’t control yourself then you need to leave.”Tanya wouldn’t let any danger stay near Bella.

“You can’t tell us to leave our home.”Edward was highly insulted that Tanya would even suggest they leave.

“Look Bella is staying. Get over it because it’s going to happen no matter how much you scream and yell and stomp your feet.”Kate didn’t want to listen to Edward’s voice.

“I said she is not staying here. So either you go tell her to leave or I will drag her out of here by her hair.”Edward didn’t have time to dodge both Tanya and Kate as they lunged at him. Before he knew what was happening his arms were missing and electricity was flowing through his body.

“Stop this right now.”Jasper made a move to save his mate but was held back by Garret. Jasper was shocked when he tried to use his gift to make Garret lethargic and nothing happened.”What did you do?”

“Stop it you two!!”Carlisle demanded as he jumped on Tanya’s back to pull her away from his son.

Tanya grabbed Carlisle by the throat and slammed him on the floor cracking the wood flooring underneath him.”Your son just threatened my bond child. You are lucky we aren’t killing him. You can have him back when Kate is done with him.”

“He didn’t mean what he said. He was just angry. He didn’t know about the bond either.”Carlisle knew that he didn’t have the right to defend Edward knowing that the boy had threatened Tanya’s bond child. The laws said Tanya could kill him for it. Carlisle was upset that he wasn’t told about the bond before.

“Regardless of the bond he threatened to do something horrible to an innocent human girl. That being the case it should be you disciplining him not us.”Tanya told Carlisle as she let the man go.

Kate stopped using her gift on Edward. She stared the mind reader in the eye and smirked.”If you even look Bella’s way I will kill you after I torture you for hours.”

“You aren’t that tough. If you didn’t cheat by blocking my gift I would have beaten both of you.”Edward knew he was a superior fighting to both women. They cheated and he was going to find out how they did it so he could make his gift work on them again.

“Are you alright?”Jasper asked after he was released by Garret. He was pissed that the sisters hurt Edward but was thankful they didn’t kill him as was their right. Jasper held Edward’s arms against his body to reattach him. The cracked skin would have to be dealt with by Edward going hunting.

“I’m fine. They cheated.”Edward said.

“So you admit without out your gift you are useless and weak?”Kate loved that Edward couldn’t read her mind.

Edward growled.“I am not useless and weak. I could beat you in a fair fight even without my gift. You both ambushed me.”

“How about you and I fight right now? I won’t even use my gift.”Kate suggested.

“Edward needs to heal. He can’t fight right now.”Carlisle didn’t want Kate fighting Edward because he knew his son would lose without having his gift. That brought with it a thought.”How are you blocking his and Jasper’s gift?”

“Bella figured out how to do it while we were on vacation. She was nice enough to help all of us and she is helping Carmen and Eleazar right now.”Tanya couldn’t keep the proud smile off her face when talking about her daughter’s achievements.

Edward stood with the help of Jasper.”There is no way a human can help others block mental gifts.”

“Believe what you want but when Carmen and Eleazar walk down those stairs they will be shielded. Something Rosalie and Irina can’t do or they would have done it a long time ago.”Kate had the same proud smile on her face that Tanya did speaking about how awesome her niece was.

“You are saying that Rosalie’s mate has the ability to shield vampires’ minds making them immune to mental gifts?”If that were true then Carlisle was definitely letting the girl stay. He wanted her for his coven. She would make them very powerful in the way of making deals with other vampires to have Bella shield them as well.

“Yes my bond daughter if extremely powerful and that power will just grow when she is turned.”Tanya expected great things from Bella when she was changed.

“Can she shield our minds as well?”Carlisle wanted her whole family protected.

“She has to trust you to be able to do it. After what Edward said and threatened and you all siding with him I doubt she will ever trust you.”At least that was the excuse Tanya had just come up with to why Bella couldn’t help them. She would just make sure to tell the others about it later.

“How is she able to help Eleazar and Carmen then. She doesn’t even know them.”Jasper wanted the shield for him and Edward.

“We told her all about them and they are likely up there getting to know her now. I don’t know if it will actually work but we are hopeful.”Tanya hoped Bella was getting to know the pair because Tanya wanted Bella to trust her entire coven.

“You didn’t tell her about us?”Esme was more than ok with the human staying because it would give her a chance to cook for someone and take care of Bella’s needs.

“The others told her how Edward was against them even talking to her and how you three all backed Edward on what he says. Something that was proven when he threatened my bond child and you all tried to stop us from hurting him. It’s up to you four to change her mind but she doesn’t trust any of you at all.”Tanya knew that Bella would never trust the four of them.

“I am alright with Bella staying here and I hope to show her that I am trustworthy.”Carlisle couldn’t lose out on a valuable prize like Bella.

“Carlisle you can’t be serious.”Edward did not want Bella talking to his family he definitely didn’t want her living with them.

“I wouldn’t mind Bella living here and I will do my best to prove to her I am trustworthy.”Jasper shot Edward a look telling him to read his mind.

Edward focused on Jasper’s thoughts. His mate was right Bella could be a valuable asset in the future if she could shield others. It could give him a bargaining chip to make alliances. Plus her shield made most of the Volturi guard useless.”I misspoke earlier. It would be a joy to have Bella living here.”

“I wouldn’t mind Bella staying.”Esme was already planning what she was going to make Bella for dinner. Luckily she had stocked up on food when Rosalie discovered Bella was her mate in case Bella stopped by.

“I’m glad to hear that.”Kate knew they changed their minds because of the shields. Well Esme wanted Bella to stay to dote on her. It was just too bad for the four of them none of them were going to get what they wanted.

“Now that that’s settled we have a request. Bella has people from each of your pasts that wish to speak to you. However Bella is tired and would like to sleep through the night. The ghosts won’t let her if you are here for them to talk to. Would be so kind to stay away from the house for the night so Bella can sleep?”Tanya wasn’t sure how the request would be received.

“I forgot about Bella’s other gift.”Carlisle would have to think about how that gift would benefit him. He was also curious about who would want to speak to him.

“Does Bella know who the people are?”Jasper had a lot of people who had died that he would like to talk to.

“I don’t know if she does or not. I just know that the ghost are assholes who bother Bella at all times day or night and care little about what they are interrupting.”Kate hated that she wasn’t able to punch some ghosts in the face. Like Hank who wasted hours of Bella’s time for nothing. The man could have made his request right after Bella mastered the shields and giving Kate time to talk to her niece without the Cullens around.

“Are you sure it isn’t just better for us to talk to those people?”Edward had been forced to admit that Bella could indeed talk to ghosts. That being said he wanted to talk to whoever from his past was asking for him.

“Bella is too exhausted to deal with it. She already dealt with two ghosts today and she hasn’t slept much in over a week. She needs to catch up. That’s why we brought her here instead of taking her home. So I ask you to please stay away for the night so she can get her rest.”That was close as Tanya would get to begging. If they said no she would take their limbs and abandon them in the woods for the night.

“I think it would show that we take Bella’s needs seriously if we gave her a nights rest.”Carlisle would just come back early in the morning to speak to Bella.

“Does Bella need me to make her dinner before we leave?”Esme asked.

Tanya held back a growl.”No we have dinner taken care of.”

“We are alright with leaving.”Jasper thought it would make Bella like them if they didn’t disregard her request.

“Thank you. Bella is likely going to sleep in so try not to come back to early.”Tanya hoped Bella would sleep in.

“We won’t.”Carlisle lied. He wanted to talk to the ghost as soon as possible. Taking Esme’s hand he led her out the door.

“Call me if Bella needs anything.”Esme called over her shoulder before running out the door after Carlisle.

“We will see you tomorrow.”Jasper was going to use the time to make a plan with the other three after Edward hunted.

“See yah.”Kate said. She waited until she couldn’t hear them anymore to speak.”I thought the fight would have been bigger and they would have refused to leave.”

Tanya grabbed her and Irina’s bags and made her way up the stairs.”I have a feeling that Esme is going to be limbless very soon.”

“I agree. She hasn’t even met Bella and she was already trying to claim her.”Garret expected Irina and Tanya to hurt the woman badly in the near future.

“Her death will be painful.”Kate knocked on Bella’s door causing it to open revealing Irina a second later.

“Did they leave?”Irina asked opening the door to let them in then retook her seat on the end of the bed Bella was sitting on.

“There was a small fight about Bella staying here but after learning about the shields the four were more than happy to welcome her into their home. After that we asked them to leave and they did.”Kate told her.

“What’s going on in here?”Tanya was confused as to why Bella was having a conversation in Spanish with a teary eyed Carmen who looked like she was holding back sobs.

“The ghosts that wanted to talk to Carmen and Eleazar showed up after Bella gave them the blocks.”Irina wasn’t happy about the ghosts showing up.

“Her gift is marvelous. I actually spoke to my human grandfather.”Eleazar hadn’t been completely convinced that Bella really could talk to ghosts until she told him things that only his grandfather would know.

“What does your own gift tell you about it?”Tanya asked.

“Bella’s shield blocks my own gift so I couldn’t get any kind of read on it. It’s like doesn’t even exist at all.”Eleazar was sad about that because he was very interested in learning about Bella’s gifts.

“What do you think of the shield she created for everyone?”Kate wanted to know Eleazar’s opinion on what Bella could do.

“The feat itself is incredible and unbelievable. I’ve never heard of anyone being able to transfer part of their gift to someone else. Usually a gift just influences a person. Bella’s shields however are a permanent psychical manifestation of Bella’s own shield that stays when Bella stops using it on the person. That is unheard of in the sense I’ve never heard even rumors of it happening. The fact that Bella is human has me excited to see what she achieves when she is turned.”Eleazar was extremely impressed with Bella.

“Do you have any idea how to help her control the gift that allows her to see ghosts?”Tanya really hoped that Eleazar did because Tanya didn’t know anyone else that would.

Eleazar smiled sadly.”No I have no clue how a gift like this works. I doubt even if I could see it with my own gift that it would help. I’m sorry I don’t.”

“It’s alright.”Tanya waved off the apology.”We knew it was a long shot but we wanted to help Bella. Although her gift allows us to talk to our loved ones the other ghosts make ridiculous demands of Bella that they pester her until she agrees to did them. That mostly involves Bella breaking the law and being put in dangerous situations. We all just want a way to protect her.”

“I haven’t been told about Bella’s adventures other than what is on the wall dedicated to her but it’s obvious from the little she has said about it and her attitude when speaking to the ghosts that she hates her gift.”Eleazar would have to have been deaf and blind not to see how much Bella hated her gift.

“You don’t even want to know all the crazy shit Bella had gotten involved with. I’m just happy that I can be there to keep her safe in the future.”Kate was also going to have a lot of fun while keeping Bella safe.

Irina made her way over to the group after getting bored with not understanding what was being said. The others were whispering so she hadn’t heard anything they were talking about.”How did it go?”

“Edward started a fight about Bella being able to live here that ended with him losing his arms and experiencing Kate’s gift once again. Jasper and Carlisle sided with him until they found out Bella was responsible for the shields. Then they were all to happy to let Bella stay. I told them that Bella has to trust someone to be able to give them the block. They left without incident. Esme however is going to be a problem. She was already trying to take care of Bella’s needs.”Tanya quickly wrapped her arms around Irina.

“I will fucking kill her.”Irina would make it painful.

“You need to calm down you are upsetting Bella.”Kate told her.

Irina looked over to find Bella looking at her in concern. She took a deep breath then relaxed her body. Using a normal volume she spoke.”I’m fine sweetheart. I just got annoyed at Esme.”

“Alright.”Bella said before going back to her conversation with Carmen.

“So we can all agree they are going to be pestering Bella to get her to spend time with them right?”Irina didn’t bother stepping out of Tanya’s arms. She loved it when her mate held her.

“Of course they are. They are going to be their overly fake selves and we are going to laugh at all the stupid things they say and do to get Bella to like them.”Tanya expected a lot of laughter in the future.

“It really is going to be funny isn’t it.”Kate was looking forward to it.

“I have Bella’s dinner order. Tanya why don’t you take Carmen and Eleazar to pick it up. Then you can have some privacy.”Irina didn’t trust the Cullens to not be close to hear all their conversations.

“That is a good idea and it looks like Bella is done.”Tanya at least thought she was based on Carmen hugging the human.

“Thank you so much Bella.”Carmen would never be able to repay Bella for the gift she gave her.

“Yeah it’s no problem.”Bella patted Carmen awkwardly on the back before gently pushing her away.

“Who did you talk to?”Kate asked Carmen.

“My mother.”Carmen didn’t know how much she needed to hear the things her mother told her until she heard them.

“I’m happy for you Carmen.”Tanya knew how much Carmen missed her mother. The woman talked about her all the time.

“What are we doing now?”Rosalie was unhappy that the ghosts showed up because it took time away from spending with Bella.

Bella stood from her bed and grabbed her laptop out of her bag before retaking her seat.”I don’t what you guys are doing but I need to help Hank before he comes back and starts yelling at me.”

“I’ll help you to.”Kate took the seat next to Bella. There was no way Kate was going to miss out on learning how to steal money digitally.

“Kate you are needed to stand guard while I am gone. Something you can’t do sitting on the bed with Bella.”Tanya also didn’t want Kate learning how to hack bank accounts.

“I agree. We can’t trust those four with Bella at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are watching and listening to everything we say and do. When Tanya, Eleazar and Carmen leave they may try to take advantage of the situation.”Irina also did not want Kate to learn how to hack anything. It didn’t matter if it was bank accounts, the government Irina didn’t want Kate to know how to do it.

“Lame.”Kate knew they were right and made a promise to herself to get time alone with Bella to teach her later. Now that Bella lived with them Kate would have plenty of chances.

“Here is her order.”Irina handed Tanya a piece of paper.

Tanya looked it over.”Is this going to be enough?”

“I asked the same thing. Apparently the portion sizes are big.”Irina had worried as well.

“Alright I will call this in once we make it to the main road.”Tanya gave Irina a kiss, released her and walked over to Bella who to Tanya’s delight held out her arms for a hug.

“Thank you for getting my food.”Bella said.

Tanya kissed Bella’s hair before pulling back.”You’re welcome.”

“We will let you know if anything happens.”Irina wouldn’t hesitate to call Tanya for help.

“We will be quick.”Tanya wasn’t going to waste any time.

“Good.”Irina gave Tanya one last kiss before she left. Leaving the door open Irina took a seat in the lounge chair in the room that Carmen and Eleazar had used to speak to Bella next to the bed where Bella was sitting. Kate had gotten off the bed and was leaning against the wall with Garret mirroring her stance on the opposite wall. Rosalie had taken the seat Kate vacated. Irina was very interested in watching Bella hack bank accounts and steal the money. In the back of her mind she didn’t believe that Bella could actually do it. Irina knew her daughter could probably do it very easily but Irina had her doubts. Maybe a part her was hoping Bella couldn’t do it and she wasn’t really committing a very serious crime. Then again Bella constantly committed crime as they all found out on their trip. Irina hated that Eleazar didn’t have a way to help Bella because Irina really didn’t like Bella being put in danger. She really hated the fact that Bella was constantly in danger. Irina held back a sigh. The only thing she could do is make sure Bella was guarded by someone at all times. Which wouldn’t be to hard because everyone liked being around Bella.
