Melting The Ice Queen 6

“Why are you all dressed up Rosalie? Go a hot date?”Lauren teased then she and a few other cheerleaders laughed. Rosalie glared at her in the reflection of the mirror she was using to do her hair causing Lauren to immediately stop laughing. Rosalie was finishing getting ready so that she could go on a date with Isabella. She had seen her around school throughout the day but never got to talk to the brown haired girl. Rosalie did see each of the Cullens however who to Rosalie’s surprise made an effort to say hello to her. Alice even told her that Isabella was extremely excited for their date. Rosalie was thankful Alice told her because it helped ease Rosalie’s nerves. She knew that she was good catch but Rosalie wasn’t stupid enough to think she was in Isabella’s league. Isabella attended boarding schools over sea, had iPhone designed specifically for her family, had warehouses full of rare and expensive cars, and was the heiress to a fortune beyond any of Rosalie’s wildest dreams. Rosalie family was somewhat wealthy but the weren’t even close to the Cullens level wealth and Alice told Rosalie that Isabella had more money than the Cullens could wish to have. It caused Rosalie to feel not worthy and it wasn’t a feeling she liked.

“If you must know I am fact dressed up for a date.”Rosalie wasn’t ashamed to admit it.

“Wait you actually have a date? With who?”Jessica hadn’t been told about a date.

“Isabella Denali is picking me and taking me to Port Angles to have dinner.”Rosalie smirked at the shocked expression on her teammates’ faces.

“She’s a lesbian?”Lauren would have never guessed.

“I thought she just hated all the boys at school.”Jessica figured Isabella thought she was better than everyone and that was why she turned the boys down.

“Yes she is a lesbian and the reason she hates all the boys in school is because she heard all they have been saying about her behind her back. I personally think she has been way to nice when dealing with them.”Rosalie would have punched some of the boys if she Isabella.

“They really haven’t been saying anything good.”Holly said.

“Yes they have been really disgusting when it come to Isabella.”Mandy agreed.

Rosalie double checked her hair then adjusted her dress one last time.”Anyway I don’t want to keep her waiting.”

“Call me when you get home. I want to know everything that happens.”Jessica wanted all the gossips straight from Rosalie.

“We see.”Rosalie wasn’t going to promise anything. Grabbing her school bag and gym bag Rosalie walked out the locker room through the school halls out to the parking lot. She smiled when she caught sight of Isabella leaning against her car holding a red rose.”I hope you didn’t wait long?”

“Not at all. You look beautiful.”Isabella thought Rosalie amazing in her dress.

“Thank you. You look great.”Rosalie looked Isabella over liking the black suit with blue tie that she was wearing. It showed off her figure and Rosalie couldn’t help but admire how attractive she looked.

“I got this for you. I was thinking about getting a dozen but that seemed to cheesy.”Isabella held out the rose.

Rosalie took it in her hand and smelled the flower.”You’re right a dozen would have been cheesy.”

“Well hop in. I have to get you home by curfew.”Isabella held the driver’s side door open and ignored the gawking teenagers who had stayed after school.

“You want me to drive us there?”Rosalie didn’t think that Isabella would let her drive her car for more than a few miles.

“Are you going to crash it?”Isabella asked.

“Of course not.”Rosalie would never destroy such a work of art.

“Then get on in.”Isabella nodded towards the car.

“Alright.”Rosalie put her bags in the back, got in the driver’s seat and put her seatbelt on. Looking around she could see all the envious stares she was getting from other students. She didn’t care though. She was getting to drive a car worth millions.

Isabella got in the passenger seat and put her seat belt on.”Do you know Port Angles well or do I need to use my gps?”

“I know how to get there. What restaurant are we going to?”Rosalie carefully put the car in drive and drove through the parking lot. When she got the road she pushed on the gas and grinned when the car shot forward.

“I was told by my sisters that the only restaurant that is worthy for you to dine at is La Perle and that any other restaurant would be the equivalent of taking you to a fast food place.”Isabella trusted her sisters to pick the perfect place.

“La Perle is very fancy. Only the extremely wealthy eat there. I’m not sure I’m dressed properly for it.”Rosalie felt that restaurant was way out of her league.

“It doesn’t matter how we dress. I reserved a private room for us so that we don’t have to deal with people looking at us while we are eating.”Isabella didn’t want to deal with humans while spending time with Rosalie.

“That must have cost you a lot of money.”Rosalie wasn’t sure how much a private room at such a place cost but it was more than her parents could afford.

“I think you will find that when comes to you the cost of things doesn’t matter.”Isabella planned to spoil Rosalie rotten.

“What does that mean?”Rosalie asked.

“It means that if you were comfortable with it I would shower with you gifts, take you on shopping sprees and buy you a dozen antique cars. I would give you anything you wanted no matter the price.”Isabella told her.

“We don’t even know each other. Why would you want to do that?”Rosalie could admit to herself that she fould the idea appealing. She always envied wealthy people who could afford to buy anything they wanted and live their lives anyway they wanted.

“Because I think you are worth doing it for.”Isabella told her.

“I see.”Rosalie wasn’t sure what to do with that answer.

“Don’t worry I won’t buy you anything unless you are comfortable with it. I will remind you however that I more wealth than I can spend in a hundred lifetimes so buying you things won’t hurt my bank account.”Isabella said.

“Let’s see how our first date goes before we start making plans for the future.”Rosalie didn’t want to get her hopes up only to have Isabella decide she was in fact not worth.

“Tell me about yourself?”Isabella wanted to know everything she could about her mate.

“There isn’t much to tell. I have lived in Forks for my whole life. I have two younger brother. I like cheerleading and I love cars. It’s my dream to have my own garage stocked with all the best tools so I can fix old cars up in it. My parents however aren’t big fans of my love of cars. They don’t think me being a mechanic projects the right image and will ruin my marriage prospects.”Rosalie thought that was bullshit but had stopped trying to fight her parents about it.

“I don’t know much about cheerleader. I am however willing to learn if you want to teach me. As to you being a mechanic your parents are silly if they think you knowing how to fix cars will ruin your marriage prospects. You’re a lesbian don’t they understand that being a mechanic will actually help you find marriage prospects?”Isabella smiled when Rosalie laughed.

“You’re right. From what I know lesbians love a woman mechanic.”Rosalie liked that Isabella was supportive of both her cheerleading and her love of cars.”How did your parents react to your love of cars?”

“My parents were a lot like yours in they didn’t support any of my hobbies they considered were unladylike. They were obsessed with me being married to the best suitor. When they died I shook off their expectations and forged my own path.”Isabella was being truthful. She had been pressured to get married and when her parents died she had joined up to be knight.

“I’m sorry that you lost your parents. I assumed they were alive because you talked about patriarch of you family.”Rosalie felt bad for Isabella losing her parents when she was still young.

“I was referring to the head of my family. The one that manages all the family’s business affairs.”Isabella told her.

“What does your family do for business?”Rosalie figured with how rich Isabella was it was something important.

“My extended family is quite large and have many businesses they own. I however have personal wealth that I inherited when my parents died which is completely separate from the rest of my family. Wealth that I have complete control over.”Isabella thought that was a good explanation.

“Don’t your sisters have control over it as well?”Rosalie asked.

“My sisters and I are not related by blood. We are closer than most siblings are but we are in no way related.”Isabella hated that they weren’t.

“Where you adopted?”Rosalie really felt bad about Isabella’s family situation.

“Not officially but they did welcome me into their lives with open arms. I consider them my family more than I consider my parent or the extended family my family.”Isabella wished that she could tell Rosalie the true story about how she met her sisters but it wasn’t time just yet.

“Is Alice your real cousin or is she just your adopted cousin.”Rosalie knew that Alice and Isabella grew up together.

“Alice is my really cousin. We are as close as sisters though.”Isabella told her.

“Why didn’t you wined up with the Cullens like she did when her parents died?”Rosalie would expect them to keep the girls together.

“Due to my role in life I wasn’t able to go with her. She doesn’t have the responsibilities that I have so she was able to live a normal life with the Cullens.”Isabella was happy that her sister got to live freely.

“What is your role?”Rosalie couldn’t think of what a teenager had to do that would keep them from growing up with their blood relative.

Isabella sighed.”I didn’t want to tell you this so soon but if I don’t you won’t understand anything about my life.”

“Why don’t you want to tell me?”Rosalie wanted to know Isabella’s secret.

“I didn’t want to tell you because I didn’t want you to think differently of me or not want to continue dating me if you knew.”Isabella really didn’t want to have to tell Rosalie any lies but there was no other choice.

“Did you spend time in prison or something?”Rosalie didn’t appreciate Isabella laughing at her.”It’s not funny. You are being all cryptic.”

Isabella took a minute to control her laughter.”Sorry you’re right I shouldn’t have laughed at you. It is kind of funny however.”

“What is it?”Rosalie asked.

“I can’t tell you what country but I can tell you that I hold the title of crown princess and am her to a large throne.”Isabella felt horrible telling that lie.

Rosalie shot a look at Isabella.”Are you fucking serious? You are a princess who is going to be queen one day?”

“I am being very serious. I was allowed to spend my final school year here with Alice before my sisters and myself have to return home.”Isabella told her.

“Holy shit.”Of all the things Rosalie thought Isabella’s family was involved with it definitely wasn’t them being royalty.

“I hope this doesn’t change anything because I truly do like you.”Isabella didn’t want to scare Rosalie off.

“I just need a minute to wrap my mind around the fact that I am on a date with a woman who will one day rule a country.”It didn’t change anything for Rosalie but it did explain a lot of things about Isabella’s life.

“I wanted to get to you know you better before I told you but didn’t want to lie you or tell you half truths.”Isabella said.

“Thank you for not lying to me. I hate liars.”Rosalie despised liars.

Isabella’s heart sank. She just hoped that when the truth came out Rosalie understood why she lied.”I will always be as truthful as I can be with you.”

“What country are you going to rule?”Rosalie was interested in learning about where Isabella came from.

“I want to tell you but I can’t for fear you may accidentally tell someone without meaning to. If it got out then I wouldn’t be able to finish the school year.”Isabella told her.

“I am disappointed but I understand not wanting to risk it.”Rosalie didn’t blame Isabella for not wanting to chance it.”Do all people in your country have your accent?”

“No I picked up my accent due to traveling all over the world. Moving here is the first chance I have gotten to speak English with others.”Isabella rarely got the chance to speak English with other vampires. Even she and her sisters spoke Slovak.

“I think your English is really good even with your thick accent.”Rosalie loved Isabella’s accent. It was very sexy.

“I am still having problems understanding common phrases and sayings. Half the things I hear the students talk about I have no idea what they mean.”Isabella had to have the Cullens explain things to her numerous times.

“I didn’t even think of that being a problem.”Rosalie just thought if Isabella could speak English then she could communicate just fine.

“Teenagers have their own languages every generation in every country around the world. It seems by the time I figure it out I’m in a different part of the world confused all over again.”Isabella never was able to stay current on all the languages she spoke.

“How many languages do you speak?”Rosalie asked.

”I have had to learn well over a dozen over my lifetime.”Isabella probably spoke every language in the world to include some dead languages. She learned so that she could speak to the locals when she traveled.

“Did you have to because you’re a princess?”Rosalie was impressed with Isabella knowing so many languages. It had her promising herself to get started on learning a different one. If she wanted to date Isabella she needed to be worthy to stand by her side.

“Yes and no. A few of the languages were to help with my duties but the others I learned so I could speak the native language when I travel. Traveling being what I spend most of my time doing. I’m hoping I won’t have to while school is in session but I doubt I will be that lucky.”Isabella expected the royals to call her back in before the year they promised was over.

“How long do you usually spend on these trips?”Rosalie didn’t want Isabella to leave now that she met her.

”It could be a couple days or a couple months. My last assignment took three years before I could see Alice and my sisters again.”Isabella told her.

“What were you doing for those three years?”Rosalie couldn’t imagine anything that could prevent Isabella from seeing her family for three years.

“I’m sorry the details are classified. I would get in a lot of trouble if I told you.”Isabella was going to be using the it’s classified excuse a lot in the future.

“You are just a teenager though. Why would they put in a situation where you can’t tell anyone what you did?”Rosalie asked.

“That’s just they way my life is. I am involved with a lot of things I’m not allowed to tell anyone about. Not even my sisters or Alice.”Isabella was being truthful. Some of the things she did for the Volturi she wasn’t allowed to talk to anyone about.

“That’s got to be hard not being able to talk to the people you love about such important parts of your life.”Rosalie wouldn’t wanted to be involved in anything she couldn’t talk about.

“It is hard but in the end me playing my role keeps them safe and allows we to provide them with a happy life. I know they worry about me of course. There is just nothing that can change my lot in life. My future is destine to be one for of sacrifice and I am sorry that I am pulling you into it. I won’t be able to promise you that I will be there for ever important event or milestone. I can’t even promise you an exact day I will be home if I have to leave. Life with me will be hard and if you want to stop this before it gets started I will understand.”It would destroy Isabella if her mate rejected her but Isabella would give her the choice.

Rosalie reached over and put her hand on Isabella’s thigh and tried to ignore how muscular it was.”I don’t know where this is going to lead to. We are two high school students. I do however know that I want to be with you. If that means I have to deal with you being called away I will learn to live with it. Maybe I can even lean on Alice and your sisters to cope with you being gone.”

“I’m sure they would love to spend time with you.”Isabella couldn’t wait to tell her sisters about this.

“I will need to get some pointers from them about how to deal with the worry of not knowing what you are doing or when you will be back.”Rosalie was being truthful. She did want to be with Isabella. It may have been to soon to admit that but she felt a connection to Isabella that she never felt with anyone else before. She knew it wasn’t just a silly crush either. She felt like she and Isabella were destine to be together.

“My sister Kate deals with her worries by reorganizing my belongings. Every time I come home from a trip my room, work room and garage are always completely different. At first I would get annoyed and yell at her about it but once I understood that it was her way of connecting with me when I was gone I allow it to happen.”Isabella used to get very angry at Kate for touching her stuff until Tanya explained why Kate really did it.

“I can understand how that would help her but it would still annoy me. What do your other sisters do?”Rosalie asked.

“My sister Irina is very sensitive. When I leave she writes me letters every day I’m gone and gives them to me when I get home. She told me she does it so that I don’t miss out on anything while I’m not there.”Isabella had kept every letter Irina wrote her.

“Can you not get letters or phone calls?”Rosalie would expect Isabella’s sisters could contact her.

“I can’t receive mail and phone calls are heavily censored. I am not allowed to talk about anything I am doing until it’s over and still I’m not allowed to tell them everything. I do send them letters and gifts every chance I get so they know that I am alive and thinking of them.”Isabella always made sure to send her sisters and Alice something to let them know that she was ok.

“You do things that make them fear you are going to be killed?”Rosalie thought it was just political dealings Isabella was involved with not things that could kill her.

“I have probably said too much. I did promise to be honest with you though. Yes the things I am involved with are dangerous enough that my sisters and Alice fear for my life every time I am called away.”Isabella shouldn’t have told Rosalie that but it was just so nice talking to her mate about her life.

“What kinds of things do you do?”Rosalie really couldn’t imagine what Isabella was involved in when she was was 15 that lasted three years that was dangerous enough to get her killed. No sane person would involve someone so young in a life or death situation.

“That I really can’t tell you. To ease your fears I will let you know that I am a black belt in numerous martial art forms, am an expert in using a broad sword, have trained to use many different weapons and have never even gotten a scratch when I was on my trips.”Isabella figured that Rosalie would take comfort in knowing Isabella could protect herself.

“Why did you learn how all that when you were so young?”Rosalie wasn’t sure she wanted to visit the country Isabella was going to inherit If they turned their young queens into weapons.

“I have always known what role I was going to play and started learning what skill I would need to be good at it at a young age.”Isabella was telling the truth about that. When she was a young child she decided she wanted to be a knight. Once she made that decision she did everything she could to be prepare when she got her chance.

“I think it’s crazy that you’re so young and you have been put in such insane situations.”If Rosalie had actually wanted to have children she would have never let them be treated like Isabella was.

“Sometimes we don’t get to choose how our lives turn out. Yes mine is hard but I have my sisters and Alice to remind me that everything I do matters. Do I wish things were different? Of course I do but they never will be so I don’t get stuck on thinking how unfair my life is. I try to do all I can to complete the mission fast and get back home to my family.”Isabella told her.

Rosalie pulled into the restaurant’s parking lot.”I think it’s admirable that you haven’t turned into a bitter hateful person.”

“I have many times come close to becoming like that but I just remind myself that isn’t the kind of person my family needs me to be.”Isabella opened the door.”Stay inside and I’ll get the door for you.”

“Alright.”Rosalie watched Isabella get out of the car and thought about their conversation. Never in a million years would she have guessed that Isabella was a crown princess. A crown princess that was sent on dangerous missions that could get her killed. Rosalie really wanted to know who the people were that sent a teenager on those kinds of missions. They must be horrible people. They had to be to put someone so young in danger when an adult could easily take Isabella’s place. Rosalie didn’t believe for a second that Isabella was the most qualified person of those jobs. She didn’t have a lot of experience compared to someone older than her. It didn’t matter how young she began training. Rosalie predicted that she would be worrying a lot in the future. Seeing Isabella’s smiling face looking at her through the window made Rosalie realize that the worry was worth it to be with Isabella. The woman was perfect for Rosalie. They had the same likes and their personalities complimented each other. Rosalie had no doubt that Isabella was going to prove it even more during dinner. The restaurant she picked out already a point in Isabella’s favor.

Comments

I wonder when Bella will introduce Rosalie to her sisters. I'm sure Tanya and Kate will have smirks that look like they say, "You have a penchant for blondes!" Irina will be too kind to do it, but will look like "I'm happy for you." I also wonder who Bella's Denali sisters will be mated with.

Diana

Yes, thank the gods n u MM!!!

Sylvanas Proudmoore

BTW thank you for not making this some weird triangle/conflict with Edward trying to claim Rosalie, too.
