To Turn Back Time 2

“So Irina how did you meet Isabella?”Rosalie asked from her seat next to Emmett in the large van the entire Denali coven was traveling in on their way to Forks. Irina was excited to see her mate again but was not happy that she was supposed to pretend that they didn’t know each other and weren’t mated. Her instincts were demanding that she stake her claim and keep all other vampires away from Isabella until they completed the bond and Isabella was sporting Irina’s bite mark on her neck. That brought with it a thought. Could Isabella be bitten? She said that venom didn’t change her but did it hurt her? Just another question for the girl.

“It was 1832 and Kate had been interested in what was going on in the western part of America at the time. Tanya wasn’t interested in going with her so I volunteered to go to keep an eye on her. We had stoped in a supply town so buy some things we would need to blend in with the other travelers. While we were there Kate found a poker tournament she wanted to play in.”Irina was cut off by Kate.

“I of course won and after kicking three men’s asses in a fight collected enough money to cover our expenses for the whole trip.”Kate told them.

“Anyway while Kate was playing poker I decided to walk around town and see what else it had to offer. I had stopped at a jewelry store to look in the window when what I assumed was a wealthy business man based on the expensive suit, shined shoes, gold pocket watch and sapphire cufflinks they were wearing walked up to the window and stood next to me.”Irina said.

“It was Isabella wasn’t it?”Emmet asked.

“Yes it was.”Irina confirmed.”Isabella pointed her finger at a gorgeous necklace that I had been admiring and said I think it would be unfair to any women who wasn’t you to buy that necklace because they would never be able to match it’s beauty the way you do.”

Kate whistled.”My best friend is smooth.”

“Isabella isn’t your best friend she is my best friend.”Emmet was not going to lose his place by Isabella’s side to Kate.

“I’m sure Isabella will be happy to be both your friends.”Carmen interjected to stop the fighting.

“What happened after the necklace?”Rosalie agreed with Kate Isabella was smooth.

“She didn’t wait for my reply before she walked right into the jewelry store and bought the necklace. I still hadn’t gotten a proper look at her face so I didn’t know we were mates but I was impressed with her confidence. When she walked out of the store she handed me the jewelry box and said I didn’t buy this for you because I expect something in return but if you would be willing I would love to accompany you on your walk through town. It was then she leaned back and I caught sight of her brown eyes and I knew we were mates.”Irina had remembered the happiness and excitement she felt finding her mate.

“What did you do next?”Tanya hadn’t heard the whole story of Irina’s interaction with Isabella. Just that they spent a night together and in the morning Isabella disappeared. The topic upset her sister so much that they didn’t bring up.

“She took me on a shopping spree were she patiently waited in each store while I looked around or tried on clothing. Never once did she complain about me wasting time or her getting bored. While we were doing that we spoke of our lives but now I know that we were both lying to each other. Why she lied to me I don’t know.”Irina was going to ask Isabella later.

“Maybe something bad would happen if you guys got together any sooner. It could involve the tracker guy or the Volturi.”Kate suggested.

“What was the story she gave you?”Rosalie was curious to know what made up story Isabella used.

“I asked her why she dressed as man and she told me that she was the only child of a shipping magnate and that she had to pass as a man to be respected in those circles. I have to admit with her short hair she held herself like a man and if she had lowered her voice she would have easily passed for one.”Irina had initially been fooled until Isabella spoke.

“Wait she had short hair?”Eleazar asked.

“Yes it was styled in the way the wealthy men who lived in the north did at the time.”Irina had liked the cut very much.

“Does that mean Isabella’s hair can grow or was she from the future after she cut her hair?”Eleazar assumed it was after she cut it.

“She looks the same now as when I met her. I didn’t see any changes.”Minus different clothing Isabella looked the same to Rosalie.

“Yeah but she said she went back in time to save you so she wasn’t from your time then.”Emmett said.

“I’m going to be really jealous if she can grow her hair.”Kate always wished she could do something with her hair. There had been many fun trends over the years she would have enjoyed taking part in.”Irina text her and ask her if she can grow her hair.”

“I have to be careful with texting her so that none of the Cullens see the texts.”Irina had been annoyed when Isabella had texted her that message with her phone number.

“It’s going to be hard not ripping Carlisle’s head off when I see him now knowing what he had planned for me.”Rosalie didn’t think she could ever get over her anger at Carlisle.

“I want to kill that bastard.”Emmet wanted the chance to cause the man pain for doing what he did to his mate.

“I personally like what is going to happen to Edward.”Tanya hated the boy with a passion. When they first met he had made attempts to get her to sleep with him and when he was denied he got nasty and bad mouthed the Denali any chance he got. Thinking about his future made Tanya smile.

“It is really satisfying knowing that he is going to have everything he is taken away leaving him a shell of who he once was.”Rosalie couldn’t have picked a better punishment.

“I can’t wait until he realizes he can’t read our minds anymore.”Kate was going to rub it in Edward’s face every chance she got.

“I expect there to be some words exchanged when he finds out.”Tanya knew Edward wasn’t going to accept the excuse that Isabella told them to use. Not that any of the Denali would betray Isabella it would just be annoying having to deal with Edward.

“Hopefully I’ll get to beat on him.”Emmet hated Edward as much as Carlisle.

“I think we all hope for that.”Irina wanted to kill him but thought him becoming Aro’s pet was a worse punishment.

“Get back to your story. After the day of shopping what happened with you and Isabella?”Rosalie wanted to know what else happened.

“As we were shopping Isabella had all the purchases sent to her room at the fanciest hotel in town because I didn’t have a room. Once we were finished she asked me if I would like to go to her room and organize my purchases. I happily agreed and when we got to her room I made a move as soon as the door shut. We then spent the night making love until the next morning when Isabella fell asleep. I had thought she was going to be sleeping for a while and I knew I needed to tell Kate where I was and make sure she wasn’t in jail so I left Isabella a note in case she woke up and got dressed and left the room. I came back less than an hour later to find her and every trace of her gone. Kate and I searched for a week and we couldn’t even find anyone who had seen her other than the shop keepers and employees she met when we were shopping together.”Irina had been almost suicidal when she realized she wouldn’t be able to find Isabella.

“Do you think she was actually sleeping?”Emmet asked.

Irina thought about it.”I had never been around a sleeping human before so she could have been awake and just faking it. I do know that when I looked back at the day and night that she knew I was a vampire. Not once during our outing did she offer to stop for food or drinks. She also insisted I buy a few umbrellas made out of high end material that would cover my whole body in the sun. Kate and I used them during the rest of our trip. Then there was the fact that she made no comment about my cold, hard skin or that my eyes changed colors like they do when vampires are experiencing heightened emotions.”

“She said that she was born in a timeline were the Romanians ruled and that she helped the Volturi take the thrones. It’s no surprise that she knew you were a vampire.”Carmen said.

“I would really like to ask her about that timeline.”Eleazar had dozens of questions for Isabella about that time line and many other things about her travels. Then there were the other questions he had about her shield.

“I don’t want all of you to overwhelm her with questions.”Irina didn’t want her mate to get annoyed with the family and not want to live with them.

“We will all try not to.”Tanya had many questions herself but would hold back and step in if any of them were too pushy. Her thoughts being the same as Irina. She didn’t want Isabella leaving. The girl was to valuable for the coven to lose.

“I still can’t believe that she won the war against the Romanians with a flamethrower.”Kate wished she had gotten to see it.

“I’m excited to see her weapons. I bet she has some that can be used on vampires.”Emmet figured a time traveler would have weapons to fight any threat they came in contact with.

Kate didn’t think of that.”She came from a time line where vampires were the number one enemy someone had to have come up with some kind of weapons to at least hurt them. Isabella would definitely want to have them.”

“I wonder what her physical capabilities are. Are they of a regular human or are they enhanced?”Eleazar asked.

“If they were enhanced she probably would have been able to handle the tracker.”Rosalie said.

Irina growled thinking about the tracker.”I hate that she had to rely on the Cullens to kill him.”

“She said she came to us before and the tracker lived while some of us died. I don’t think she was choosing the Cullens over us for any reason other than it was the last resort.”Tanya told her.

“That’s true it’s obvious that she dislikes the Cullens. You couldn’t miss the hate in her voice when talking about any of them.”Carmen didn’t think anyone could fake the amount of venom Isabella’s voice held when speaking about the coven.

“I wonder how she is pulling off a deception so good that she has the entire family believing she is with them willingly.”Emmet wouldn’t have been able to even be civil if he was Isabella.

“I think it’s easier because their gifts don’t work on her.”Tanya bet if they did Isabella would have found out in seconds.

“Just Jasper’s gift alone would have exposed her.”Rosalie said.

“Well luckily they don’t affect not only her but us now as well.”Eleazar was looking forward to experiencing what it felt like when one of them used their gifts on him. He wanted to know if there would be some kind of reaction.

“I want to know if she can take people with her when she travels. I mean how cool would it be to go back in time and see how the pyramids were built.”Kate had a list of events she wanted to go back in time to experience. She was hoping if she couldn’t go with Isabella that the human would be willing to go for her and get her souvenirs like the newspaper she got Tanya. That newspaper that Tanya had to be forced to put down when it was time to leave. Isabella had been right Tanya was a huge nerd when it came to American presidents and Kate was sure that her coven leader was going to ask Isabella for other items from each president.

“I didn’t think of that. She has the opportunity to witness every major event in history.”Rosalie wondered how much of that history was Isabella involved in.

“I want to ask her if she knows who really killed Kennedy. I mean she was in the city that day she might have seen if Oswald was really the shooter. Then if he was she could’ve asked him why he did it.”Tanya had a bunch of other questions about the presidents that she was going to ask Isabella. She was going to space them out of course because like her previous thoughts she didn’t want to overwhelm Isabella and have her leave.

“I want to know about the future. Think about all the advanced technology she has access to. She could get her hands on video game systems and games that haven’t even been invented yet.”Emmett would love to get his hands on video games that didn’t exist.

“I’m going to ask her to get me a copy of the complete series of Elsbeth so I don’t have to wait to watch new episodes.”Irina loved the show and hated having to wait so for new episodes to be released.

“I didn’t even think of the fact that she could get her hands on our favorite tv shows.”Kate was going to have to make a list of shows she wanted Isabella to get for her.”Maybe she could even get us shows that haven’t been made yet that we could watch.”

“I wonder if she can travel with something larger than a newspaper and a cup of coffee.”If she could Rosalie was going to talk to Isabella about getting her some cars and if she couldn’t do that then some car parts.

“I’m going to ask her about investment tips.”Tanya would welcome some help growing their wealth.

“I wonder how she makes her money. I know she has a lot of it because the amount of money she gave my family and what she spent on the farm itself was a small fortune.”Emmet was extremely grateful Isabella did that for his family because he had planned to help but he wouldn’t have been able to do as much as Isabella had.

“The money she gave my friend was more than a small fortune. Just the price of the home she bought converted into current value would be over 20 million dollars. Plus Isabella gave them millions in cash as well.”Rosalie had been shocked when she found out through a maid Vera hired that she had come into such a windfall. Like with Emmet’s family it was credited to a distant aunt who died and left everything to Vera not the rest of the family. That being something Rosalie appreciated as Vera’s family never held back showing their displeasure in Vera marry for love instead of the arranged marriage they set up for her.

“When we spent the day shopping she had three wallets full of a lot of cash. I actually made a joke about her being on the run from the law because of how much she was carrying. She brushed it off saying that she always carried that much in hopes of one day meeting the woman of her dreams so she would be able to spend the day spoiling her. She said it with so much sincerity that I actually believed her.”Now knowing what she did Irina was positive that Isabella had been carrying the money so she could take her shopping.

“Maybe that meant she was from the future and knew she would be meeting you that day.”Eleazar figured Isabella had previous knowledge of where Irina was.

“After finding out about her gift I doubt it was a coincidence. I do feel horrible about her meeting me in a time line where I reject her for that vile man Laurent.”Irina was going to make it up to Isabella even though she wasn’t the one who hurt her mate.

“We should have asked Isabella exactly how his gift worked so that we could protect ourselves from it.”Tanya was kicking herself for not asking.

“She said it was like glamor on steroids. Since glamor is considered a mental skill it’s likely her blocks will make us immune.”Carmen said.

“Yeah I doubt Isabella would risk not only Irina but the rest of us being under Laurent’s control.”Kate didn’t think Isabella would let Irina be involved if there was any chance Irina would be effected.

“Hopefully we can get a chance to ask her because I would feel better knowing for sure.”Rosalie didn’t want to be around a vampire whose gift could make you reject your mate.

“Maybe we can offer to take Isabella out to get to know her better so we can have some time alone with her.”Irina suggested.

“Someone would have to distract Alice so she doesn’t come.”Tanya liked the idea she just knew Alice would be a problem.

“There is no way Edward would allow it.”Carmen said.

“Who gives a fuck about Edward?! If we want to take Isabella out then we are going to take Isabella out. As for Alice we just tell her she can’t come. It’s well known her and Rosalie don’t get along so we will use that as a reason.”Kate told them.

“We don’t get along because I refuse to be a doll she can dress up and show off.”Rosalie had a love of fashion and enjoyed shopping just like her sisters and Carmen. Alice however had an obsession with it and a belief that she knew your style better than you did. Most of the clothes she tried to dress Rosalie in were geared towards teenagers. Something that Rosalie was not nor did she want to look like one.

“That’s something poor Isabella has probably been subjected to while hanging out with the Cullens.”Emmet fell bad for the woman for having to be stuck with the Cullens.

“We are on our way to save her from them. Then soon after she will fake her death and she can finally take her place in our family.”Tanya was looking forward to that day.

“Until then we just play our parts and then when all is said in done Edward’s life will be ruined and then we can rub it in the Cullen’s faces that Isabella was never theirs and that she was always a Denali.”Irina wasn’t the only one in the van who smiled at the thought. It was going to be torture not claiming her mate but Irina soothed her beast by reminding herself that once everything was revealed it would devastate the Cullens. Edward was Carlisle’s most prized possession. Knowing that he was lost to Aro would destroy him. Irina wonder if he would try and get Isabella to go to Italy to save the boy. Not that Isabella would nor would any of the Denali let her. None of them including Irina knew Isabella well but they all had claimed her. That meant they would fight to keep her safe. Case in point them all driving to Forks to kill a newborn army to keep Isabella hidden from the royals. Something that was extremely important to keep the coven alive. That being something all of them would fight to do.
