Expect The Unexpected 22

“I’m surprised the queens didn’t want to take more stuff from their rooms.”Rosalie said as she, Tanya and Isabella were sitting on a couch in Aro and Sulpicia’s former living room watching a movie. The trio was taking a break from everything and spending some time together. Thomas had yet to get the bed Rosalie had wanted delivered so they were holding off from being physical. Not that they needed a bed Rosalie just wanted her first time with Isabella to be more romantic then having sex on the floor because they would definitely break any other furniture they laid on. Athenodora and Collette had offered to stay away from the wing of the castle that they shared with Isabella but Rosalie still wasn’t comfortable being intimate in a non sound proofed room where people could hear them. Rosalie wouldn’t be able to look anyone in the eye if they were overheard.

“If I were them I wouldn’t want anything that would remind me of the fact that I was in a false mate bond for the last few millennia.”Tanya wouldn’t want a reminder of all the years of lies and captivity.

“My mothers mentioned that the former queens have set up a meeting with their true mates in a couple days.”Isabella told them.

“That will be nice for their mates to finally meet them after knowing about them for so long.”Rosalie didn’t know if she would be able to hold back from claiming her mate if she knew they were in a false mate bond.

“Let’s hope that they will actually trust the bonds.”Isabella said.

“Do you think they will fight them?”Tanya asked.

“They might not believe they are real.”Isabella would be wary if she had been forced into a false mate bond for thousands of years.

“I didn’t think of that.”Rosalie wouldn’t be that quick to believe a mate bond if she had been fooled for so long.

“I personally hope that they don’t fight them. They both deserve to have a bit of happiness.”Tanya thought a mate bond was the least the queens deserved after all they went through.

“When is Kate’s mate getting here?”Rosalie was excited to meet the woman.

“6 days.”Isabella told her.

“From what you told us Kate isn’t going to know what hit her when they meet.”Tanya like Rosalie was excited to meet Kate’s mate.

“Fola won’t put up with any of Kate’s antics. Although the pair will egg each other on and get into trouble together. Unfortunately the castle will be the victim of most of that trouble.”Isabella was not looking forward to all the repairs they were going to be doing to the castle in the future because of Kate and Fola.

“I still haven’t come up with anything to punish them.”All the punishments Tanya came up with she thought would just encourage the mated pair.

“Maybe you should check to see what would work out best.”Rosalie suggested to Isabella.

“I will wait until the first time they misbehave and we brainstorm on different punishments before I see which one works best.”Isabella didn’t want to look into the future. She wanted her mates involved in the decision.

“We will wait.”Tanya liked the idea of being involved and not just relying on Isabella’s gift.

“I’ll start coming up with ideas until then.”Rosalie figured that after she met Fola she would have a better understanding of what would hurt the pair the most.

“Has Kate made any mention of how she is getting along with her team?”Isabella had taken two hours to meditate that morning and Tanya and Rosalie used the time she was occupied to check in with the family.

“As we all predicted she is extremely unhappy that she didn’t put in the effort to become better educated. She actually tried blaming me for not pushing her harder but Irina was quick to come to my defense.”Tanya didn’t know why Kate thought she was to blame when she had begged Kate to take her studies seriously.

“Of course Kate wouldn’t take responsibility for her actions.”Rosalie was in no way surprised that Kate was blaming Tanya. Kate never admitted she was in the wrong.

“She told me that it was my fault because I didn’t tell her about Isabella. When I reminded her how dangerous it would have been if I did she argued that I could have just told her and not the others. Instead of trying to reason with her I ignored the rest of her rant and spoke to the others.”Tanya knew the best way to deal with Kate was to ignore her and let her tire herself out.

“No offense to Kate but she would be the last person I would told anything to.”Isabella thought Kate was too excitable to keep such an important secret.

“She would have outed you the first time Alice tried to tell us what to do.”Rosalie had seen Kate’s anger when she wasn’t allowed to tell Alice or the rest of the Cullens that Tanya got much better information than Alice did every time Alice tried to order them around based on one of her visions.

“Luckily Kate is at least trustworthy enough to be trusted with some of the mission she will be sent on.”Kate was somewhat of a blabbermouth but Tanya knew that she could be trusted to act accordantly so that no one would get hurt.

“Is she working well with her team?”Isabella asked.

“Yes, they have all spent some time in the training rooms to find out their fighting skills. Plus Kate had them get together to talk about themselves and what their strength and weaknesses are.”Tanya had been impressed with Kate’s initiative.

“They need to get comfortable with each other soon because they will be going out on their first mission in no later than a week and a half.”Isabella told her.

“What mission would that be?”Rosalie hadn’t been told about any mission.

“I hadn’t gotten to talk to you about what I saw when I was meditating. One of the visions was of a group of 8 vampires killing off a dozen vampires that were being kept prisoner in an underground bunker. From what I could see I think it’s one of the former kings’ prisons where they kept the people they kidnapped.”Isabella explained.

“It isn’t one you have seen before?”Tanya asked.

“No and I think it’s because I have been trying to focus on finding missing people that I had this one. I didn’t recognize the building or any of the people in the vision. I only know the day from a radio playing the news in the background.”Isabella told them.

“Where are they located?”Rosalie wanted to save the prisoners as soon as possible.

“I focused on one of the guards and got a vision of his lighting the house that is on top of the bunker on fire and that gave me the address to a house in Germany.”Isabella said.

“Do we need Kate’s team specifically for this or do we have any German allies that could take care of it?”Tanya didn’t think Kate and her team were ready.

“We have allies that could do it but I think this would be a great first mission for Kate. None of the guards have gifts and it took three vampires working at the same time to remove each head. Their technique was horrible and it was obvious they have no combat training. I think that Kate and her team will be able to easily handle the group. I could focus a vision on it if you are uncertain.”Isabella wouldn’t use her gift unless her mates asked her to for things concerning the family.

“If you think Kate will be fine then I think we should send her and her team.”Rosalie trusted Isabella’s opinion. If she said Kate would be fine then Rosalie believed Kate would be fine.

Tanya thought through everything. Yes she could have Isabella use her gift but she didn’t want to rely on it for everything. That and like Rosalie she trusted Isabella.”I agree let’s send her and her team after her mate arrives.”

“Now that you have seen some of the prisoners have you linked them to anybody?”Rosalie asked Isabella.

“I didn’t spend anytime focusing on any of them because I want to look into a couple other things. One of them involving a group of vampires approaching our Russian friends to gain an alliance to overthrow us.”Isabella told them.

“I’m surprised that people are already acting out. I thought they would at least wait a month.”Tanya thought they would have a break before they started getting attacked.

“I’m not surprised they went to the Russians. It’s well known their hatred of the kings. Also with you being a complete unknown to everyone except your allies people don’t know the relationships you made while at the castle. They probably think the Russians will help them because they would want the territory.”Rosalie could understand why someone would go to the Russians. They were some of the Volturi’s biggest enemies.

“It’s going to take some time for the truth of what happened to come out and until then we are going to be tested from every angle.”Isabella expected many to challenge their thrones.

“How many people are involved in this rebellion?”Tanya wanted to know how many people they would need to send to capture the group and bring them to the castle to be tried for treason.

“There were twelve people in the meeting room with the Russian ambassador and his staff. One of the men claimed that they had twenty more and were gaining followers. I however don’t believe him. If they had so many they would have brought all of them to meet with the ambassador to show him that they had the numbers to actually be some kind of threat.”Isabella could tell the man was lying by all the nervous ticks he made while speaking.

“If I had those numbers I would bring them. Even if they weren’t in the meeting I would have them staged around to show how powerful I was. I just don’t understand how a group of twelve people think they would be able to kill us and our allies after we eliminated not only the three kings but their entire regime to include their supporters. I mean I think we proved we are very capable of defeating any enemy. Even the Russians wouldn’t stand a chance against the Volturi and we crushed them like a bug.”Tanya knew that she and her mates were the most powerful leaders in the world. Not only because of Isabella’s gift of sight but her shield that would prevent anyone from being able to attack them.

“We should reach out to the Russians and let them know they are going to be receiving visitors. Maybe we could ask them to capture the vampires that show up and then have some of our people fetch them and bring them back to the castle to be put on trial.”Rosalie wanted everything to be done by the book so they weren’t seen tyrants.

“We need to speak to Athenodora so that she can give you all the phone numbers you will be needing in the future. That way we can reach out to people and not have to rely on her or Jane.”Isabella didn’t have a phone and used Athenodora and Jane as point of contact between her and the allies that were safe to reach out to via phone or email.

“You haven’t gotten to really see your mothers that much have you?”Rosalie had only seen the pair in passing.

“They are newly mated. They want to spend time together after only speaking through letters. That and they know we have things to do. I plan on seeking them out later to see how they are doing.”Isabella knew her mothers weren’t ignoring her they were giving her space with her own mates while they enjoyed time to themselves.

“I’m sure they will be happy to see you.”Rosalie said.

“You mentioned there was a few things you were focusing on during your meditation. Other than what you told us was there anything else?”Tanya asked.

“Yes, we will need to send a team to intercept a vampire that is planning on creating an army of newborns to take over a rival’s territory in the South America. He is currently trying to recruit mature vampires but is having no luck. I had a vision of him creating his first one in three weeks.”Isabella told her.

Hearing that Rosalie growled.”Stupid idiot.”

“At least we have time to catch him before he can implement his plan.”Tanya was extremely happy for Isabella’s gift because it helped prevent massive problems from breaking out.

“We just have to figure out who to send.”Rosalie didn’t know everyone in the guard or their capabilities.

“I think we should have Alec pick his own team to lead on this mission. He has always wanted to step out of Jane’s shadow but has never had the chance. I think sending him to take care of this problem will be a good step in building his self esteem.”Isabella had many discussions with Alec about how much he hated how he was overlooked and that everyone focused on Jane.

“I think this would be a good test to see if he could handle it.”Tanya was more than willing to allow Alec a chance to prove himself.

“Allowing him to pick his team is a good idea because it will give him ownership over the mission.”Rosalie didn’t know much about Alec but from the little she did felt that he would do a good job.

“Then it’s settled. Now since we don’t have anything pressing to do why don’t we watch a movie?”Isabella suggested.

“I would like that.”Rosalie couldn’t think of anything better than sitting on the couch snuggling with her mates watching a movie. Well until they had their bed delivered. Then she was getting her mates naked.

Tanya grabbed the remote and turned the tv on.”It looks like they have most streaming services.”

“Aro may have hated technology but he was obsessed with tv and movies. I had been present many times when he would hurt or in some cases kill a vampire just because they made him miss his shows or the release of a movie.”Isabella told them.

“Does anyone have preferences?”Tanya asked.

“I’ll agree to anything.”Isabella didn’t care what they watched.

“Ooo they have the Sound of Music.”Rosalie loved that movie.

“I’ve never seen it.”Isabella hadn’t been exposed to that much media over the years other than what Athenodora or Jane would put on while they were spending time together.

“You’ll love it. Tanya put it on.”Rosalie happily snuggled into Isabella’s side smiling when Isabella adjusted her body so that her arms were around Rosalie. It was so great that Rosalie could finally spend quality time with Isabella after being separated from her for decades. She honestly didn’t know how Tanya did it for centuries. Rosalie had asked Tanya once and her mate told her that the only reason she didn’t search Isabella out was because it would lead to her, Isabella and the rest of the covens deaths. Plus all the collateral damage that would occur if Isabella had been outed. Rosalie understood her reasons but she was way to selfish to wait that long. If she didn’t have Tanya she definitely would have gone after Isabella. Especially because she was unmarked. Luckily the wait was over and now Rosalie got the chance to cuddle with her lost love while they watched her favorite movie. Life couldn’t get much better than that.
