Irina's Happy Mistake 5

“Here they come.”Tanya said when she heard multiple footsteps running towards them. She held back a sigh of relief when Isabella holstered her guns that she had been twirling and doing tricks with. It unnerved Tanya to be in the presence of the guns after seeing them easily kill a vampire and she wished that she could keep her coven away from them and the woman wielding them. It wouldn’t be possible however due to not only Irina’s mate bond with Isabella but by the way Kate was looking at the woman Tanya knew that she wanted to get to know her better. Isabella being a dragon that had access to weapons that could kill vampires was to interesting to keep Kate away. That meant that Tanya would have to run interference to make sure nobody in her coven upset Isabella. She didn’t want them dying.

“They sound excited.”Isabella said. Taking a stance in front of both Irina and Rosalie she watched as a group of a dozen wolves made their way into the clearing lining up. Isabella knew that they wouldn’t be able to defend themselves properly like that.”Is this how you greet the enemy as well?”

“What’s wrong with our greeting?”Sam asked not being able to stop himself after he put his on shorts and joined the wolves. He wasn’t sure what was going on or why it wasn’t the Cullens that were meeting him. He also wasn’t sure who the orange eyed woman was but Sam could tell she was powerful and dangerous.

“With the way you are lined up in a straight line you wouldn’t be able to defend yourself if you were attacked. As a matter of fact lining up like makes it easier for you to be killed because your enemy could just start at one end and work their way down.”Isabella told them.

“We do fine against our enemies.”Sam didn’t appreciate being judged by this stranger. He opened his mouth to say something else only to stumble when he was hit upside the head. Gaining his footing he noticed that all the wolves were trying to regain their footing as well.

“What the fuck?”Kate hadn’t even seen Isabella move just the aftermath of the wolves falling.

“You see. If you had been in a different formation or staged some of your wolves around the area I wouldn’t have been able to disable all of you so easily.”Isabella thought hitting them softly was the best way to prove her point.

Sam blushed. He couldn’t argue with the stranger after being proven wrong.”We will take your advice into consideration.”

“You do that.”Isabella said.

“That being said what is it you need to speak to us about?”Sam doubted that the group came just to talk about how he staged his pack.

“A couple things. One of them being all of the Cullen coven except for Rosalie, Emmett and Joy are dead.”Isabella was cut off by Sam.

“What do you mean they are dead?”Sam didn’t think that the royals had come and didn’t understand how the vampires were killed.

“I mean that they admitted to plotting treason and I shot them.”Isabella told him.

“You shot a vampire and it killed them.”Sam thought weapons didn’t work on vampires.

Isabella unholstered her guns and held them up.”Two Colt Buntline Specials. A gift from Wyatt Earp as a thank you for helping him track down his enemies during the cowboy wars.”

“You knew Wyatt Earp?”Emmet asked.

“Yes I met him in a tavern while I was traveling through the west tracking some of the vampires who got away from the newborn wars that had gone on in Mexico at the time.”Isabella had good memories of her friend. He taught her how to shoot properly and with his help she came up with the bullets that could kill vampires.

“That’s crazy.”Joy couldn’t imagine Wyatt Earp of all people hanging out with a dragon.

“What was he like?”Katie was very interested in learning about the man. He was a legend of the old west.

“He was kind, didn’t put up with injustices, had a filthy mouth and taught me tons of dirty jokes. Other than he was a hell of a shot and a great friend. I actually spoke at his funeral.”Isabella had been honored to be one of the ones to do so.

“You spoke at Wyatt Earp’s funeral?”Rosalie was having a hard time picturing that.

“Who cares. Let’s back to why you are here. You said most of the Cullens are dead. Who is in charge of the territory now?”Sam didn’t care that the woman knew Wyatt Earp. He cared about what was going to happen now that the Cullens were dead.

“That would be up to Rosalie, Emmett and Joy.”Isabella wasn’t going to make any decisions for the trio.

Rosalie shared a look with the mated couple.”We have decided that we are going to take all of the coven’s assets and divide them between the three of us. The properties involved will be decided on individually but I personally do not want to keep the house and land in Forks.”

“We don’t either.”Joy had nothing but bad memories in Forks.

“So you are going to sell?”Sam was happy hearing that.

“Yes and then we are never coming back.”Rosalie sure as hell wasn’t.

Sam looked down to a small grey wolf when it nudged him. He instantly knew what it wanted.”If Edward and Lauren are dead what’s going to happen to Laura.”

“The child will be left with it’s imprint. However I have some instructions on how to take of it so if he would be so kind to change back I will explain everything.”Isabella said. The grey wolf broke off from the group and ran into the tree line.”Where is he going?”

“He is going to put some clothes on.”Sam told her.

“Why would he need to put clothes on?”Isabella asked.

“Because when he transforms he is naked.”Sam explained.

“Why would he be naked?”Isabella didn’t understand why the wolf would be naked when he shifted.

“We can’t shift with our clothes on.”Sam wasn’t sure why he was telling the stranger all this.

“Wait you guys don’t shift your clothes on?”When Sam nodded Isabella laughed.

Sam bristled at the laughter.”It isn’t funny.”

“You’re right it’s hilarious.”Isabella wiped at her eyes as she tried to get control of her laughter. Once she did she looked at an angry faced Sam.”Why do you think you can’t shift with your clothes on?”

“None of us have been able to and neither have our ancestors.”Sam was highly offended by being laughed at.

“My mothers said you were sheltered but I didn’t think it was this bad.”Isabella had thought they were only out of touch with their purpose not their wolves.”You can absolutely shift with your clothes on. I do every time and so do the other shifters I know.”

Sam looked the woman over.”You’re a shifter?”

“Yes, I am dragon shifter.”Isabella smiled at the looks of disbelief she was getting from Sam and the other boy in a human body who had joined them.

“You expect us to believe that you are a dragon?”Sam wasn’t going to be fooled. Dragons didn’t exist.

“She is I’ve seen her dragon form.”Irina told him.

“Like we would believe a vampire.”Sam knew they were being lied to.

Isabella unholstered her guns and held them out towards her mates.”Would you please hold these for me?”

“Sure.”Rosalie was more than willing to have the gun at her disposal. Weapons that she could use for her personal protection being something she planned on asking Isabella about later.

“No problem.”Irina wasn’t that well versed in guns but did feel better having one of Isabella’s in her hands while the dragon was busy.

Tanya caught Kate by the back of her collar stopping her from rushing over to Irina.”No you don’t.”

“What I wanted to see the gun.”Kate thought this was the perfect opportunity to check out the weapon.

“You don’t need to touch the gun.”Tanya wanted Kate to stay far away from Isabella’s guns.

“It’s not like I’m going to shoot someone.”Kate was just going to shoot a couple trees.

“It’s not happening. We have no clue what would happen if a vampire used one of those guns and now isn’t the time to ask.”Tanya wasn’t going to chance it.

Isabella made her way across the clearing.”You all should stand as far back as you can.”

“Are you going to shift?”Rosalie was very excited to see her mate as a dragon.

“Yes and I will need room so if everyone could step to the side I would appreciate it. I don’t want to crush anyone because vampires may have strong bodies but they are no match for a dragon.”Isabella told them.

“This is going to be so great.”Emmett said.

“I am interested in seeing what a dragon looks like.”Eleazar didn’t expect to see Isabella’s dragon so soon.

“Alright everyone clear?”Isabella asked.

“Yes we are all clear.”Irina called out. She smiled brightly at the sounds of shock she heard as a result of Isabella trading her human form for her dragon form. Out in the open she seemed bigger than she did in the cave. Irina wondered if Isabella could make herself as big or small as she wanted. That was just one of the questions she would ask when they finally got some privacy to talk and complete the bond. Making her way over to Isabella Irina rubbed her hand on her nose.”You look magnificent in the sun.”

Seeing Irina being able to touch Isabella Rosalie followed her example and made her way over to Isabella and rubbed her cheek.”Your skin is like silk.”

“That’s because I moisturize it regularly.”Bella told her.

“You moisturize your skin?”Kate just couldn’t see a giant dragon putting on lotion.

“Of course. If I didn’t my scales would flake off and in dragon culture that is the equivalent of wearing filthy rags.”Isabella worked hard to maintain her body.”Why it’s even worse than having a small horde.”

“Can I touch you?”Eleazar asked.

“That would be up to my mates.”Isabella would defer to the pair on who they let touch her.

Irina thought about how she would feel if anyone touched Isabella.”I would rather no one touch you as we haven’t completed our bond.”

“I agree. I don’t want anyone touching you.”Rosalie was only comfortable with Irina because of the mate bond she also had with Isabella.

“Then I’m going to change back.”Isabella concentrated and willed her body back to human. She smiled as she walked back over to the shocked wolves.”As you can see I can shift with my clothes on. I can also shift with my guns but I wanted my mates to have a way to protect themselves when I wasn’t near them.”

“How is that possible?”Sam had no clue what was going on anymore. Not only were dragons real but they could shift completely clothed.

“I don’t know your history but it seems that you have been very isolated from other shifters. I was told that you felt your purpose was to kill vampires.”Isabella didn’t understand why they would think that.

“Our ancestors became shifters out of necessity after our tribe was attacked by vampires and we needed help to destroy them. Ever since the generations that shift only do so when there are vampires in the area. We live to kill them.”Sam was a firm believer in that purpose.

“That’s a bunch of horseshit.”Isabella turned toward Irina.”Please don’t tell Didyme I cursed.”

Irina smiled. She thought it was cute that Isabella was worried about getting in trouble with her mother”I won’t.”

“Thanks.”Isabella turned her attention back to the wolves.”Where was I. Oh yes a shifters purpose isn’t to kill vampires. As matter of fact it is quite common for shifters to form bonds with vampires. As I have with my two mates Rosalie and Irina who are both vampires. I was also raised by a vampire. So you see vampires aren’t the enemy.”

“You should also mention that your mothers are actually the rulers of vampire society and you are considered our princess.”Rosalie thought it important that Isabella’s role in vampire society be known by the wolves. Before anyone said anything a dark brown wolf shifted right in front of everyone revealing a naked tan skinned boy.

“Everyone turn around. Give the poor boy some privacy.”Isabella didn’t want everyone to be exposed to the boy’s naked body.

“What you afraid your mates will see you checking out what a proper imprint looks like.”The boy said.

“Son I don’t know who you are but I assure you having them turn around was for your benefit not theirs.”Isabella smiled when Rosalie snorted out a laugh.

“How dare you!”The boy made a move towards the line but was held back by Sam and Seth.

“Stand down Paul.”Sam ordered.

“I’m not standing down. As a matter of fact all of us should kill off the vampires and get the dragon out of their control. It’s obvious that they have brainwashed her. Why else would she think they were her imprints and parents?”Paul didn’t even flinch when not only numerous vampires growled at him but Isabella did as well.

“You better keep your puppy in line or we will take the child and leave you in your ignorance.”Isabella threatened.

“I’m not a puppy.”Paul was insulted he was called such a thing.

“I could make heel in a second little boy.”Isabella told him.

“You think you could beat me in a fight?”Paul laughed at the very idea.

“This is so great.”Kate had hoped for a fight.

Isabella reached inside her jacket and puled out a whip made of braided silver with an intricately carved leather handle. She flicked it at Paul catching him around the throat and tugged him out of Sam and Seth’s hold, pulling him to the ground and flipped him on his back. Putting her foot on his Chest she bared her teeth at him.”Heel dog.”

“Shit.”Rosalie said as she watched Paul thrashing on the ground and screaming in pain while trying to pry the whip from around his neck.

“Now she has weapons that work on shifters.”Emmett desperately wanted to talk to Isabella about the guns and the whip. Plus the other weapons he knew she probably had.

“Let him go.”Sam demanded. He didn’t want to fight a dragon. Especially one that had weapons that could hurt them.

“Irina, Rosalie do you believe the boy has been punished enough for claiming our bond is false?”Isabella asked her mates.

Irina walked up to Paul and kicked him hard in the ribs taking great pleasure in feeling them break.”Now he has been.”

“If he keeps his mouth shut in the future then yes.”Rosalie wouldn’t put up with someone questioning her claim.

Isabella unwound the whip from Paul’s neck.”You watch what you say in the future puppy or I won’t be so nice.”

“Paul that’s enough. Come back over the line.”Sam ordered when he saw the expression on Paul’s face when he got off the ground.

“Now then back to the matter at hand.”Isabella wound her whip up and secured it to the inside of her jacket.”The child.”

“What information do you have about her?”Seth was upset with Paul for pissing the dragon off because she was the only one who knew anything about his imprint.

“Her mind and body will be fully mature at age 6. She is immortal and will have muted vampire abilities. Meaning she will not be as fast or as strong as a vampire but will far surpass humans. She can eat human food but must ingest blood regularly. Human is better for her but animal can be used short term. Other than that she is just a normal child.”Isabella told them.

“She can’t live off animal blood?”Seth didn’t like the sound of that.

“It doesn’t have the proper nutrients the child needs. However as I know you likely don’t want the girl to kill human I will give you contact information to a woman who will set you up with bags of donated blood.”Isabella thought that would be a perfect compromise for the shifters.

“We would appreciate that.”Sam didn’t want Laura killing humans so would happy take the help to prevent that from happening.”Can you also teach us how to shift with our clothes on?”

“That is extremely easy. You just need to focus on your clothes when you shift until it becomes second nature.”Isabella had shredded tons of clothes when she was first learning on how to shift.

“We just have to think about our clothes when we shift?”Sam didn’t think it would be that easy.

Isabella nodded.”It will take some practice but eventually you won’t have to even think about anything and they will just shift with you.”

“We will definitely be trying that out.”Sam would happily try anything if it meant that he kept his clothes on when he shifted.

“Good then I think that my work here is done.”Isabella didn’t think there was anything else she needed to address with the wolves.

“Can we get your phone number so that we can contact you if we have any more questions?”Sam knew that in the future he would have some about shifting and Laura.

“I don’t have a phone.”Isabella would never have one if it was up to her.

Irina stepped in before Isabella could start arguing about cell phones stealing your soul.”I’ll give you a number to call. It won’t be Isabella who answers or calls you back but someone will relay your messages to her and give you her reply.”

“Thanks.”Sam said.

“No problem.”Irina pulled Isabella’s phone out of her pocket and noticed numerous missed calls from the queens. She would have to call them once they were done with the wolves. Irina walked to the line and held the phone out for Sam.”Put your number in it and I will text you this one.”

Sam put his number in the phone and handed it back to Irina.“We appreciate having a way to ask any questions we come up with later.”

“Don’t be afraid to reach out.”Isabella was already planning on coming back to visit the wolves to check in on them.

“We will.”Sam was also going to be reaching out to Isabella about the weapons she had to kill vampires and hurt shifters. Seeing the burn marks around Paul’s neck Sam knew they could be beneficial to his pack.”Thank you again for your help.”

“You’re welcome.”Isabella said.

“Good bye.”Sam waved the wolves to follow him out of the clearing.

“What was the whip you used to hurt Paul?”Kate asked once the wolves were out of sight.

Isabella pulled the whip out of her jacket and held it up.”It’s made out of silver and doused with my saliva which is deadly to other supernaturals and humans. It burns the skin no matter what species you are and if injected with it or if swallowed it burns the body from the inside.”

“Your saliva can kill me?”Irina didn’t like the sound of that.

“No my mates are completely immune to not only my saliva but my fire as well. I could actually hit you full force with my fire and you would walk away unscathed.”Isabella told her.

“Is the saliva the reason your bullets can pierce vampires skin?”Rosalie figured it was.

“The bullets are a secret I will not be sharing with such a large group. If you or Irina wish to know how they are made I will tell you in private after you receive the block on your mind.”Isabella wasn’t going to let anyone know how to make a weapon that could kill her mothers or her mates.

“Seriously after finding out something so extraordinary is possible you aren’t going to tell us how it’s done.”Kate desperately wanted to know.

“What blocks are you talking about?”Tanya was happy Isabella wasn’t telling Kate how to make the bullets. That would lesson the odds of Kate killing herself accidentally.

“I have a gift. I can not only shield myself mentally but physically as well. A part of that gift is I can build blocks on other people’s minds making them immune to mental gifts.”Isabella explained.

“Would you be willing to give us the blocks?”Rosalie wanted to have her privacy.

“Do the both of you wish for me to give everyone blocks?”Isabella would do it if her mates wanted her to.

“I would like my family to have the blocks.”Irina said.

“I would as well.”Rosalie wanted Emmett and Joy protected as well.

“Then why don’t I hunt very quickly and then I can do that for all of you.”Isabella was hungry after the long flight.

“I’ll come with you.”Irina needed to go as well.

“I will as well.”Rosalie didn’t want to be away from her mate.

“Can I come to?”Kate wanted to see a dragon hunt.

“Kate let them have their privacy.”Tanya didn’t even want Irina around a dragon while it was hunting.

“We would like our privacy.”Rosalie wanted some time alone with her mate.

“Yes we would.”Irina agreed.

“Then it’s settled we will go hunt and meet you back at the Cullen’s home.”Isabella was alright with hunting with her mates.

“See you later.”Rosalie took Isabella’s hand in her own and waited for Irina to take the other before leaving her family and the Denali in the clearing. She was very excited to be hunting with her mate. She hoped that she would be able to capture an animal for Isabella to eat so that she could prove she could provide for her mate. That being something she had a feeling she would be able to do in the future as well if Isabella had a large appetite. If what Eleazar said about the queens having a working farm to raise livestock was true then Rosalie figured that Isabella ate a lot. Rosalie wondered if she ate more in her dragon form. Just one of the many questions she had for Isabella. Once they were done hunting she was going to start asking. For now though she wanted to prove that she could provide for Isabella and that meant she needed to focus on her surroundings. That way she could find the largest animal in the forest to present to her mate.
