Rebel Yell 1

“And that is why I would be the perfect person to manage your portfolio.”Rosalie held back an eye roll when Frank Dillon finished his pitch. She was at his firm to have them manage her money as she was told that they were the best. They were also rumored to be owned by a female vampire with the last name Cisne and had many vampire clients. Their specialty was legally growing a vampire’s wealth and keeping the government from asking questions. Rosalie had assumed that she would have been flagged when she came in and would have been given an audience with someone more important than a junior associate. Especially because she was given a recommendation from Tanya Denali who used the firm. Rosalie had asked questions about the owner but Tanya said that she never met the woman personally and dealt with a human assistant that apparently knew about vampires that the Volturi didn’t care about. That assistant being the point of contact for all their vampire clients.

“Mr.Dillon.”Rosalie began only to be cut off by Frank.

“Please call me Frank.”Frank said.

“Frank. I was under the impression that with a recommendation from Tanya Denali that I would be meeting with the owner.”Rosalie told him.

“Did you tell that to the receptionist that gave you the appointment?”Frank asked.

Rosalie nodded.”Yes I did.”

“Well then if they sent you to me than you aren’t meant to meet Ms.Cisne.”Frank told her.

Rosalie took a deep breath and let it out slowly.”How do I go about getting an appointment with her?”

“You would have to speak to her assistant.”Frank said.

“Can you give me her assistant’s number?”Rosalie gave Frank a winning smile hoping it would persuade him to help her.

Frank gulped.”I’m sorry Ms.Swan but I don’t have her number.”

“Who does?”Rosalie ignored the thrill that was tainted with grief hearing someone call her Bella’s last name gave her.

“The best person to talk to is the receptionist.”Frank told her.

Rosalie stood from her seat.”Then I will go do just that. Thank you for your time Frank.”

“Are you sure I can’t help you? I’m really good at my job.”Frank called out as Rosalie walked out the door.

“I’m sure.”Rosalie replied. Deciding that speaking to the receptionist wasn’t going to cut it Rosalie decided to go straight to Ms.Cisne’s office and confront her. No one was allowed to overlook Rosalie Swan. Not anymore. Rosalie had gone through too much to be ignored or pushed aside for other vampires. She had fought tooth and nail to be on the same level as everyone else and she wasn’t going to let anyone make her feel less. Just as she slipped into a stair well a familiar head of red hair caught her eye. That head of hair had haunted Rosalie for over three decades. Rushing after them Rosalie yelled.”Hey stop!”

The red head didn’t stop instead she ran faster to the top of the stair case with Rosalie right on her tail. Rosalie rushed through the roof door after her stopping when she saw the read head jump off the building. Pulling out her phone she called her coven leader. They answered on the third ring. Rosalie spoke before they could.”I just chased Victoria out of the building I had my appointment in.”

“Wait what?”Tanya’s voice sounded confused on the other end of the line.”Are you sure it was Victoria?”

“I could pick Victoria and her hair out of a crowd of a hundred people easily. It was Victoria. Plus she ran from me.”Rosalie took that as more than enough proof of it being Victoria.

“Didn’t Alice say she died the night she killed Bella?”Tanya asked.

Rosalie flinched thinking about that night.”She did. That’s why we all assumed that Victoria killed Bella then killed herself after she got her revenge.”

“Did she know it was you chasing her?”This time it was Kate asking.

“She saw me but whether or not she knows who I am I don’t know.”Rosalie had only had one encounter with Victoria. That was on the baseball field but Rosalie didn’t pay them any mind at the time as her focus was on keeping Bella safe.

“Do you think she was there to purposely see you?”Irina asked.

“If she were that would mean that she had some kind of involvement with the firm. Something I doubt however because from what Laurent said she had been a nomad for centuries and had no attachments.”Rosalie was unsurprised to hear the sisters growl.

“You can’t trust that bastard to tell the truth.”Kate said.

“Why would she be interested in me though? I’m no longer a Cullen and haven’t been for decades. As a matter of fact my feud with them is well known.”After Rosalie broke the sire bond with Carlisle she had been very vocal of her hatred of the Cullens. She even took her grievances to the Queens who dismantled the coven and forbid Carlisle from belonging to any coven.

“Maybe she was just curious.”Irina suggested.

“Well I’m curious to know what the hell happened that led to us believing she was dead and what all this means for Bella.”Rosalie wasn’t going to let herself hope that Victoria being alive meant Bella was as well. There was no way the red head would spare Bella with how angry she was.

“The only way to get any answers would be to talk to her.”Tanya told her.

“I don’t know where she is.”Rosalie would love to find Victoria so that she could kill her for killing Bella.

“Did you follow her scent?”Kate asked.

“You know I’m horrible at doing that.”Rosalie just couldn’t get the hang of isolating scents.

“We can come help you if you want.”Irina offered.

“Actually it would probably be better if we did. That way if you do find her and she attacks you have some backup.”Tanya said.

“That’s a good point. She is a very good fighter from what I was told.”Rosalie had trained but had no real world skills.

“Alright stay where you are and we will see you in 20 minutes.”Tanya told her.

“Thank you.”Rosalie said. Hearing the line cut off she sighed as she put her phone in her pocket. Never in million years would she have expected that she would ever see Victoria again. Victoria being the one who took her mate away from her. Rosalie didn’t blame Victoria completely for it. Most of the blame she gave Carlisle for allowing Edward to make the false claim and using the sire bond to make Rosalie stay away from Bella. If it wasn’t for him Rosalie would have never left Bella behind and could have protected the human from whatever happened with Victoria. That incident giving Rosalie the strength to break her sired bond with Carlisle. Something the queens had been shocked she had been able to do as they never heard of it happening before. Rosalie didn’t care how it happened just that it did and with it went the shackles holding her to the Cullens. Now as a Denali Rosalie was free to do whatever she wanted and had all the love and support she needed to live a good life. It wasn’t as fulfilling as it would be with her mate by her side of course but it was better than with the Cullens. Now she was waiting for the sisters to help hopefully get some answers and then maybe she could get some revenge.

Comments

Ok, so after rereading this chapter, I find Rosalie’s behavior appalling, and more than a bit jerkish and entitled. Who does she think she is, trying to confront the OWNER of the financial company she’s trying to engage to help grow her portfolio. Tanya TOLD that she had never met the woman. Why she thought it was ok to try and force the issue is beyond me.
