Nothing very obscure. I did Ocean House and Shalebridge Cradle (Thief 3), and then later did Ravenholm (Half-Life 2)

Kaye, do you remember offhand which other horror levels from non-horror games you played on that stream? That's a pet topic for me!

I haven't, but I'm curious! -GB

Been playing along with the show and the Ocean House Hotel still got me with a few jump scares. I also like that it almost feels like the WoD equivalent of picking up dry cleaning for your boss. I used to work with an evangelical Christian that loved ttrpgs and I'll forever remember him telling me he uninstalled Bloodlines right after meeting Jeanette for the first time because he was worried his wife would see it. Have either of you played Vampire the Masquerade Night Road? I can't remember if i heard about it on a previous episode or somewhere else but I picked it up and it's really good. It's a lot like those Cthulhu Chronicles interactive fiction games from a few years back. I also want to try VtM Swansong and Coteries of New York, though I've heard both are fixed protagonists rather than characters you can create.

Gary my dude you have definitely said "a body built for bedrooms" somewhere on the network before, i remember laughing recognizing the reference. it's a fuckin good line i like to think of myself that way for the same reason Kaye said (i enjoy sleeping. i am basically a woman-shaped Snorlax)

Hi both! I'm a little surprised to have not seen Tim Cain's youtube come up in any of the discussion thus far! While he didn't do much work on Vampire, what information he can share is fascinating. We love a first hand account! In particular there is an interview with fellow Troika co-founder Leonard Boyarsky which I have linked timestamped to their vampire discussion below. Here are what I feel are some highlights: - The Source engine was still rather new and constantly updating while they developed Vampire, which caused the content they had already made to break. - The build of the game from the day prior and following the version that was printed did not have characters sliding around like they do now. Activision pushed it through regardless. - A werewolf MMO was planned to be developed and was cancelled after Vampire didnt sell as well as they hoped. Loving the show so far and having a great time with the game as a brand new player. Thanks! P.S. Did you know that there was going to be a multiplayer mode called "Counter-Bite"? Another Tim Cain nugget! Edit: forgot to link the video! https://youtu.be/Njwv5tbmhzg?si=lIUt_h9SxJe0xSso&t=3329

The theme song is so good it gives me pause every time it starts playing. Thanks producer Gwen!

Love this season! Appreciate you both. Real Lich Hours feels like a series made specifically for me ☺️

I’ve played Wraith! And you’re both right, it’s nuts, and maybe not good! It was me and one other player and between two sessions our goal was to get a box from one place in the “skinlands” to another. It was a difficult task. One thing we realized that makes Wraith a hard game to play, is the imbalance that can arise if one player is better at playing the shadow than the other. I don’t think I did anything interesting with my playing as the other character’s shadow, meanwhile that game ended with my ghost alone in his house, spending a resource to make his shadow just shut up for awhile. Re: the twins, the V5 core book included an option to operate an Asylum franchise as an Elysium. And I can say from experience that Jeanette is a very fun wrench to throw into a player’s plans. Oh you thought you were going to have a meeting with your political rival, possibly start mending some bridges or consolidate some power? Well here comes daddy’s little monster to fuck everything (up).

Great episode! The Ocean House Hotel doesn't hit as hard on repeat playthroughs, but I still remember how scary and cool it was my first time. I'd like highlight the song that plays near the end of the level when you walk across the illusionary hotel room. It's beautiful and dreamlike and I always stand around for a bit until it fades away. It is Pilots by Goldfrapp and it is worth listening to the full version.

malkavians also have obfuscate i assume because stealth would be impossible with their distractingly loud outfits

I won’t be able to listen to this episode until my work shift tonight, but what’s more appropriate to talk about? The Sires of Voerman sisters (one of whom I’ve played at the table) or ghosts?
