Call and Response: WOFF! Dispatch April 2025

Hey, guys! The purpose of this post is to call for your questions and prompts for WOFF! Dispatch. Please respond by Tuesday, April 15th by leaving a comment on this post.

We're looking for two kinds of things:

  • Suggestions for our long-form discussion prompt.

  • Q&A about the shows, behind the scenes details, and miscellaneous (including off-the-wall and off-topic questions). Ask us about games or other media, life in general... You name it.

One caveat we've given in the past: If the question is too personal or gross, we may dance around it and not give a direct answer.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I understand this may not be the correct place for unfilmable requests, but I would like to see if you guys would be willing to have Brayton on as a guest, and cover the eldritch horror that is "Must be Santa" by Bob Dylan and/or "we wish you a turtle Christmas". You guys, Teenage Dirtbags is the most charming slice of media I've ever come across.

Hey guys! The Cyber Mania 94 Adaptation Decay had me grinning ear to ear. THANK YOU! Just curious who you ‘used’ in Street Fighter 2 back in the 90’s. And why? 😜 Thanks for all the wonderful, constant content. A fucking plus

As someone who 'comfort listens' to old podcasts when going to sleep etc, do you find that some of your old podcasts get crazy high listens? Or does the listen stats vary more with the type/franchise of game? Yours, that guy who is still listening to the FF7 podcast at least once a month while asleep

When the pandemic started, I suddenly stopped having a long commute to and from work every day, and so I had to trim down some of the podcasts I listen to. One podcast that didn't make the cut back then was Everything To Guppy. (Sorry.) I recently picked up where I had left off (around December 2019 - I had a backlog even back then). Right now, my plan is to slowly but surely get caught back up. A few stray observations listening to five-year-old episodes of the show: • "Dude Diligence" was a good character. • In late January 2020, Will randomly started complaining about how "society" won't let him wear a mask in public. (LOL) • Have you had a "Snack In Time" segment lately? So far, I've not heard Will get thrown off his game more than when you were dropping in some unexpected Huey Lewis and/or The News. • Brahms "The Boy" II was an object of fixation for several episodes, but y'all have since moved on to other things. However, the last episode I've listened to in which he appeared (February 2020?) ended with Gary being possessed by Brahms' The Boy. Does this ever get addressed, or does Gary still *technically* have the spirit of a cursed doll residing in his throat? • As of right now, I'm at Episodes 445-448: The CATS (2019) Commentary Track. On a recent (for me) episode, you guys talked about how you'd have to end the show around Episode 700, because it would surely have become intolerable by then. With that in mind, congratulations on recently cracking the 1,000-episode mark. I'm looking forward to seeing just how intolerable the show becomes over the next five years. In all seriousness, though, thank you to Gary and Will for many, many laughs. Here's to another 1,000 episodes of Guppy! (or until the show becomes unprofitable) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Five Stars here since I already reviewed the show on Apple Podcasts.)

I have a follow-up to someone's show question last week on what "games club" means in the podcast description. When did you guys switch over from being a "retro games" podcast? What inspired that decision?

Hey gary! Hey kole! Could you guys rank the members of Kids in the Hall? Thanks!

I always enjoy interacting with podcasts - submitting questions and feedback, interacting on social media or meeting the hosts - it's one of the reasons I tend to bounce off anything too big or "mainstream". Yet I tend to hear the same names over and over, so the numbers suggest most listeners are just passively engaging. How do you feel about engaging with content, or about your fans who get involved vs those who don't? If the numbers stayed the same but you never heard from us, would it change your desire to keep making content?

Do either of you guys have a favorite musical? (Movie or play)(Other than the Butthole cut of Cats)

What makes a good mini game? how much should it tie back into the main game? Like the prizes in re4make giving some trinkets, or the gambling in New Vegas being affected by your luck, and giving back caps

Do you think the line "Rock and Roll, no halo" from the 2011 LMFAO song Party Rock Anthem is referring to the video game series or the religious concept?
