2024-09-18 21:44:59 +0000 UTCPleased to hear you approaching the end of Book 2 of The Locked Tomb. It is my least favorite in the series but it is still a worthy follow-up to GtN. Nona is certainly on odd duck of a novel as it takes place in under a span of a week, but the time spent with its characters endeared me to the remaining cast, alive or dead. So much so that it feels like a reunion among long time friends and rivals, where we get to see significant changes in each of them when they are reintroduced. On the other hand, Nona, the title protagonis, gives a warm and child-like perspective on this uberdark setting. The only hang-up is Alecto, aka the upcoming 4th book, has been delayed multiple times, so it is mildly frustrating to await the continuation for so long. In the meantime, I've checked out a podcast that mirrors your own Bonefirside Chat that shares a name with the series tifle. I have also gone back and listened to all three novels again because the reader, Moira Quirk, absolutely nails every single member of this enormous cast. I now can't imagine them voiced in any other way.
