The books arrived!

The printed copies of Love Condemns Her have arrived! I'm pleasantly surprised that it took so little time to get here, I thought it was going to take at least a month.

I'm very happy with how it turned out, so I thought I'd share a little sneak peek with my patrons :)

Here's the front and back cover.
I chose a textured paper with little flecks of silver foil in it for extra flavour. (It's quite hard to see in photos.)
I wanted to play around with foiled text for the title but I went without because of the cost.

And as an option, I added patterned semi-translucent paper in front because this particular stock looked like water ripples. This extra page that's different in stock to the main content of a book is called Asobi-gami ("Play paper") and it's solely for design and aesthetic purposes.

I'm super happy with the print quality too!
I chose offset printing instead of print-on-demand, for its crisper finish, and chose a paper called "comic-natural" which has a slight cream shade. When I printed the Japanese version of Cowardly Jenny to take to comitia, I chose a stark white stock for its contents and it was a little jarring (not bad though) so I'm very happy with this change.
Stoked that all the redraws I had to do was worth it, you can hardly tell where the edge of the original canvas was.

Now I'll have to work out what the best shipping options are and acquire appropriate envelopes before I debut this on my online store. This is the least fun part of merchandising. Working out the shipping logistics...
