Story Blurb: Chun Li discovers a new rival in Enid Mettle.
Author’s Note: I feel like I’ve known Chun Li my whole life, but when I sat down to write her I realized I actually didn’t know anything about the character. Nor did I care to learn, honestly. I also winged it with Cammy’s characterization, so my bad if you’re a legit Street Fighter fan. I’m normally a stickler for characterization, but I just couldn’t be bothered with this one.
I’m not too crazy about how this one came out. This was one of those stories I really enjoyed while I was drafting, and then not so much while I was editing. I was originally gonna write a super elaborate fight scene, with Enid and Chun trading rapid-fire kicks and special moves – you know, some real video game type shit – but then I realized this is probably gonna be one of those stories hardly anybody reads, and I decided I didn’t wanna work all that hard and get next to nothing for it.
Consequently, the only part of the story I wound up liking at all was the grapevine scene. I love pins. Like, I really, really love pins. I don’t know if anybody else loves pins, but I love pins. By comparison, the scissorhold scenes in this one are just okay. I think I’m losing my knack for writing those. Feels like I’ve been to that particular well one too many times.
